WotW is actually Stalker 2 and Thorny is a GSC employee tricking us into being free playtesters.
Hey guys
X18 scared the poop out of me. I expected mutants but I did not expect ghosts
The first time I ran through an X--, I thought the blueish things were electro anomalies, so I never killed any poltergeist. :v:

I shat this quantity of bricks when items on the ground around me spontaneously started hovering and attacking me.
Poltergeists was literally the last thing I expected to find down there.
I saw a poltergeist to kill a snork with a wooden crate by accident.
The snork ran at me under the crate and jumped as the crate came flying at me.

Ah yes the dream.
I remember it starting in the middle of a small meadow in a industrial looking area.
I was prone so I got up on my knees and saw a mob of about 30 men, looking quite a lot like the SAS from CS:S, about 2/3 in black BDU's and 1/3 in brown BDU's.
For some reason I just have this feeling in my guts that these people are up to no good, so I decided to sneak past them in the high foliage.
At the end of the meadow there was a concrete wall with metal doors which lead to the town.
A small town of the sort that you might see in northern or eastern europe.
The town was mostly abandoned but the part of it which was on top of the hill was converted into a "safe" haven of some kind for people to stop by in, trade and do their share of keeping the place up and running.
Then I went to my stash to get stuff which I would sell further. An MP5, a leather jacket and a combat vest.
After that I proceeded to get to the head guy of the place who was keeping a bar, a two story house which was connected to a motel of somekind which had most of its second story rooms condemned due to too bad condition for housing anyone.
The bar also had a small backyard where the barkeeper grew some cabbageheads and an appletree.
So I got to the barkeep and told him about the suspicious looking fellows near the west side entrance of the safe haven and signed myself up for guard duty.
First I went up on one of the guardtowers the guards there had built, I watched around with my binocculars if I'd see anything but nothing special caught my eye, just some snork like creatures walking across the road to the southern entrance to the safe haven.
Then I switched roe to keeping a look out for the people passing in on the west side entrance. I see one of my friends and ask him to bring me my Saiga from my stash which suited better for guarding a small entrance.
And these average Joes are passing by some are wearing black, some wearing varying colours and camos.
Then suddenly a familiar face pops up; another friend of mine (which I happened to go with for a pizza the following day) who is dressed in a black BDU/overalls similiar to the guys I saw at the beginning of my dream.
But his clothes were different, they were full of different types of patches.
Then he asks me if I happen to have any combat gear for sell, which I happened to have, we made a trade a we head for the bar after my guard time was over.
(slightly annoying part where dream logic kicks in)
After a time a the bar. a group of strangers walk in trough the backdoor of the bar.
A group of mutants, humans hith really thin hair, thick, dry and hard looking skin,
These people being some kind of mutants who want the haven area for them selves. Then there was a lot of rumbling withing all the upset people who were either suprised about the appeareance of these talking mutants or displeaced about the plans for a new ownership for the area.
While all the rumble is going on I head upstairs and took the MP5 from my backpack. Then I went to the window above the door to the backyard and jumped behind the mutants and gave their ugly faces a 9mm treatment.
But they just shook it off and got angry. The leader of the group (the one with the thickest looking skin) sent two other to get me, I give one of them the rest of the facial treatment the mag in the MP5 has to offer and throw the gun away once it's empty. The one I shot starts walking towards the gun that I threw away while the other one keeps on going towards me. I took out my Saiga I had on my back and shoot at the mutant once before hits me and sends me flying towards the stone wall around the backyard.
I hit my head in the wall and pass out.
When I regained consiousness I could still hear the sound of guns, men yelling directives and the groans from the mutants.
I went up to the bars second floor and started kicking at walls and doors with planks infront of them with to create myself an escape route using the condemned motel rooms.
Once I reached the last room I opened its door and jumped from it to one of the makeshift balconies made by the guards. From there I jumped and rolled and headed towards a forrest road in the northern end of the haven.
I ran along the forrest road and the dream ended.
By the way, I got a red keycard to the laboratory I snatched from the merc in CoP. What can I do with it?
Also, in SoC, I found a PDA with a number sequence on a Monolith soldier. It doesn't open the Red Forest bunker-thing, though. What does it open?
I never dream about Stalker and that makes me happy. :geno:
I wonder why.
Since your stalker stories are less about badassery and more about horribly perverted stuff with mutants.
I would neither like to see your stalker dreams.
I dream about the Zone when I'm walking in it. I see those rusty car wrecks - it's the same car we had back in those times, and I dream about my dead father still driving us for a holiday trip. I even forgive him for his cigarettes he smoked, sickening everyone in the car. At that time, everyone smoked everywhere. I see those frescoes on the factory walls with the proud workers and scientists, looking confidently into the future, wishing I could still believe that. I see the wrecks of the BTRs on which we kids once happily climbed up at Army Day, and remember how proud I was of the toy BTR I had. I look at the apartment blocks in Pripyat which look exactly like the building I still call my home. I listen to the Russian talk at the campfire, wishing I wouldn't hate that language so much back at school when it was the language of the oppressors and we were forced to learn it. I walk in that old world, wishing I would be still a kid, sitting in that Soviet car when everything was easy to understand, dreaming about traveling back to the time before the Zone happened, only to see ruins, mutants, suffering and decay when I wake up.
The little diskette icon? Ignore it and download a mod that removes it, because it seems to be indicating fuck all.
It indicates content being loaded from the harddrive.
Can anyone recomend a good mod for CoP for someone that hasn't played anything but vanilla? Also, I don't intend on re-playing CoP so loads of new stuff would be cool.

Informative.
Good job, developers, on using one of the most known graphical metaphors in the computer world completely wrong :v:

SGM adds a fuckton of new stuff in all categories. Too much for some people, even.
Redux adds some new features and ramps up the difficulty massively. Can be frustrating, but good if you want much more of the traditionally unforgiving gameplay of STALKER.
If I'm not mistaken, both also include major overhauls in the graphics department.
Also, what happens if I install two mods at the same time, if that's even possible (I haven't got the faintest clue how to install mods, I'll have to check out those mods' websites)?
Most mods will conflict and give you loads of errors.
[editline]10th June 2011[/editline]
Simple mods like a weapon accuracy mod and a weather mod would work if you combined them though.

Get winmerge to put em together, might take some time.
Honestly, having conflicting mods seems like a fun experience. Might produce some neat bugs. Hmm, also, i STALKER's programming based on numbers? Like in the Source Engine, gravity is displayed as a number.
It would be pretty cool to chuck those settings on a randomizer.

"Bugs" usually involve a simple crash on startup. It's not worth it.

It's only been hot for the past few days and I'm already tried of summer. And it isn't even technically summer yet. :v:
Don't be bitch, Summer here gets to around 40-45C
Yikes, I used to live in a place that was about 40C in the summer
but nothing higher
I have two fans, or more like wind machines, standing next to my window at full speed.
Also a black curtain that covers the entire window. And a mosquito net behind it.
I'm set for all of my ten weeks off this summer :smug:
