Really cool ideas.
Thanks for the compliment. I was thinking of sending that the the S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 quest contest but had doubts of it because there was a nagging feeling in my head that told me "it's too similar to the Duty Weapons storage quest" but feel free to steal it for your own projects if it's deemed worthy :v: .
The Duty storage quest was nice in Redux, one of the Dutiers packed an RPG. There was lots of running and laughing.
Oh god I went to the [sp]gauss gun factory or whatever in CoP[/sp] and it was filled with zombies with top tier weaponry. It was kinda scary to be in a hallway when suddenly BOOM "wtf was that" BOOM Then I see the flash lighting a zombie carrying a RG6 HOLY SHIT And that RG6 became useful when I killed the chimera :v:
Damn S.T.A.L.K.E.R, why must you be so addictive? :v: I haven't even gotten that far, I'm only on SoC at the part where you meet Bes and offer to defend his area.
You still have much to enjoy, rookie!

I know, I was a little slow to the party to.

I had an idea for a quest inspired by the conversation about a fashion designer in the Zone. I thought it would be cool if there was a really old man who sort of just wandered around the Zone, searching for super unique artifacts. If the player comes across him he agrees to make a suit for the player, on one condition. The player must bring him one of each high end artifact. Once you do, he tells you he can make it extra special but he needs a artifact only seen once, called a Wish Granter shard. Once the player retreives the artifact, the man gives you a suit of high quality with strange properties, and then just wanders away. He should be called the Tailor or the Weaver or something.
Wish Granter shard
Oh not that mother fucking artifact. It's so radioactive that you can barely use it in People Soup.
Oh not that mother fucking artifact. It's so radioactive that you can barely use it in People Soup.
Wut? I'm having trouble just playing CoP at the moment, and with people talking about the ram needed to play People Soup like it needed a gizzilion GB's of ram I haven't played it. So I have no clue what the items are in People Soup.
That suit better have regenerating health and dual miniguns, because I'm not hauling ass into the CNPP and hacking off part of the fucking Wish Granter for a SEVA.

It's so radioactive that if you don't check the backpack it's laying over first you're gonna die a few seconds after picking it up.
That suit better have regenerating health and dual miniguns, because I'm not hauling ass into the CNPP and hacking off part of the fucking Wish Granter for a SEVA.
Okay so a little more in depth. Not an ACTUAL shard of the Wish Granter, but an artifact local lore has said to be a shard of the wish granter. So it would be like the heart of the oasis, not [sp]a piece of a brain washing crystal.[/sp] Also it would be a really good suit, not a generic one you can buy or a slightly unique one. Like an epic epic suit to reward you for being epic enough to gain and sacrifce such rare artifacts for it.
I wish stalker 2 will have characters like that. Strangers that if you cross paths with, may lead to great fortune or grave consequences... Maybe like a strange man that after you conclude your conversation, he vanishes as a large group of Psy-mutants (controllers, burers, poltergeists, pyrogeists, chernobyl dogs, that's my general term for them.) approaches you, making you wonder if he was real or just a vision caused by the mutants. [editline]12th June 2011[/editline] or maybe someone that destroys or moves a group of anomalies to let you get into a building or something, but after you leave the building and pass where the anomalies use to be, the anomalies block the path again.
Anyone want to spout some conspiracy theories as to why the Monolith soldiers are still taking orders and how we would stop the spread of the Zone?
I'd like more unique NPCs. The fact that they're kind of more alive in CoP is good, but you can't really care that much for them since you don't go through stuff with them. Imagine that Spartacus's team in Zaton was all made out of unique NPCs who all have unique personalities and will appear in other quests depending if they survived or not. [editline]12th June 2011[/editline]
Anyone want to spout some conspiracy theories as to why the Monolith soldiers are still taking orders?
They're not taking new orders, nobody is there to issue them. The only thing that's holding the faction from becoming unorganized and falling apart are the Preachers.
Anyone want to spout some conspiracy theories as to why the Monolith soldiers are still taking orders and how we would stop the spread of the Zone?
Those tubular thingys found around monolith bases, they keep the monolith under control. In CoP you see them in monolith bases in Pripyat. I would get an image, but it's uninstalled right now. not to mention most of the remaining monolith have probably lost their humanity to an extent that they are just "smart" zombies. [editline]12th June 2011[/editline] so many automerges without breakages... :smug: [editline]12th June 2011[/editline] automerge [editline]12th June 2011[/editline] king
Yeah, it's the Preachers. You can hear them say things like 'Oh Monolith I can no longer hear you' but they keep the footsoldiers in check.
fuck... :smugissar:
owned.
Breakin' Gman's automerge
Damm you! You pommy bastard! just because we are better than you at cricket and our teeth are cleaner and our women hotter :colbert: [editline]12th June 2011[/editline] no shrimp on the barbie for you thorny, you can go drink your warm beer over there.
I wonder if the brainwash facility inside the CNPP is still operating. There must be an explenation to how is Monolith still getting backup even after they got torn to shreds in SoC and CoP.
So wait, the preachers are moving troops and taking orders from wire radio towers in the ground, and whilst they no longer take commands from the Wish Granter, they still move with purpose. Common guys can't we just theorize something, it doesn't have to make sense or fall in with cannon. Personally I want to beleive [sp]The Noosphere is rearranging and purging the world as the universe attempts to right itself and it's using the Wish Granter and the monolith to do this on a smaller scale.[/sp] [editline]12th June 2011[/editline]
I wonder if the brainwash facility inside the CNPP is still operating. Plus all they are doing is fufilling the commands they were given before the c-con was destroyed. [editline]12th June 2011[/editline] defend Pripyat and the CNPP at all costs
no, the preachers are using the towers to control the monolith troops. Plus all they are doing is fufilling the commands they were given before the c-con was destroyed. [editline]12th June 2011[/editline] defend Pripyat and the CNPP at all costs
So, why aren't they all sitting around at CNPP waiting for attackers? They seem to be moving outwards and attacking rather agressively. [editline]12th June 2011[/editline] Alright, alright you win, you people and your firm hold on the unimagitive, the refusal to think even for a moment something larger is happening. Instead you insist on beleiving that the Monolith are defending CNPP by agressively attacking outsiders in a widening circle, and the preachers who are essentially Captains are taking no orders from higher authority even though these are brainwashed idiots with barely enough of a grasp on reality to realize they're situation. I am full aware of cannon and accept it as the ultimate truth but common guys. Really? No imagination amongst the lot of you...
So, why aren't they all sitting around at CNPP waiting for attackers? They seem to be moving outwards and attacking rather agressively.
not really, all they are doing is bullrushing everyone else to push them out of Pripyat. Freedom's Outpost leading to red forest? They were attacking it to deter anyone from attacking areas under monolith control. Every assault they make is to deter and stop Stalkers, the Military and the Mercs from taking over Pripyat/The CNPP.
Yeah there's no conspiracy. Monolith troops (especially the Preachers) aren't brain-dead like zombies, they still have higher brain function, it's just that their emotions are gone and they're brainwashed to follow the orders of the C-Conc.
So, why aren't they all sitting around at CNPP waiting for attackers? They seem to be moving outwards and attacking rather agressively.
They are. It's just that the defensive territory also accounts for Pripyat.
Yeah there's no conspiracy. So serious over here. :colbert:
