Yeah I think more than 4GB of ram is needed to play the soup without crashing a lot. Because the only time I crash is on level loads due to lack of memory.
And 8+ is required to not spend two minutes loading a quicksave.
Suddenly, the Makarov PB is quite a bit more fun to use
Huh. Played some TF2. Pissed me off enough to realize dealing with fixing stalker would be easier then trying to deal with a thousand players with troll faces as avatars that all type in non-stop capitals. I guess I have to uninstall and redownload again. [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] HAH FUCK YES FIXED!
Well, parts for my new computer should arrive by the end of the week. time to replay all of the STALKER games on decent settings!
I wish STALKER was more horror oriented. The games scared me a lot because ANYTHING could, and would happen. I never knew what to expect

Where can I find a decent suit in this mod that has better weight distribution? All my shit. AN-94 with higher muzzle velocity and therefore damage and accuracy, NVGs as well as a helmet, alternating between the two depending on time of day. During the daytime I use the AN-94 and snipe targets with it, at night visibility is reduced at range, even when using NVGs, so I use the SG550 with a silencer (And M203 in case my ultimate nighttime commando plans go to shit) as well as an unmagnified optic for dusk fighting depending on the time, otherwise the regular optic (Works with NVGs). The LR-300 is redundant now, the SIG rifle is slightly better. 6G30 and RPG (As of yet unrepaired) for when shit's gonna get real, hit the fan and if there's anything gratuitous amounts of explosives can do about it, land in my enemies' pseudodog stew.
Hey guys, I am about, oh, I don't know, 50-65% through CoP on my first playthrough, just got the game. But, I would like to know some downloads for some good mods for this, filefront files just seem kindof crappy and unrelated to the mods that are talked about here.
Decided to do a playthrough with the newest Complete to form a more accurate opinion of it. Would most people play it with or without that Realistic Weapons addon?

Mod repository, or Blaberry's FTP Filefront is outdated and shit. Blaberry's FTP and the mod repository are both godlike - fully updated in most cases, translations provided if needed, and fast downloads Thank Amez for the repository and Blaberry for his FTP. Also check K1ngo64's excellent shaders out if you haven't already. They're like compatible with everything forever, improve FPS, and make the game look a bit better

But none of them gives any description of what the mod is about or anything....

SGM adds a fair bit of shit to do as well as loads of weapons and items. Redux is very difficult as supplies, ammo, weapons and money are scarce, especially near the start of the game. The AI is quite intelligent and can pull some dodgy tricks. It also includes AtmosFear I believe. Unfortunately, there are no new weapons but there are a few new items. Weapon and item upgrading has been removed, as have all the stashes. But you should be able to find decent weaponry on corpses. Just hold on to the best weapon you find, even if it's in shite condition, and repair it when you have the money. Anything that shoots will do for the time being until you can get better equipment in order. It also has much better sounds and gunplay. It makes you value everything a lot more though, and you have to think very carefully about what you take out with you. You'll be using your stash for storage a lot. Protip: Find an AN-94 and a P220 or M1911 and repair them if needed. They're the best weapons I've used so far.
Don't worry, you'll get a cool stash system in WotW. :unsmith:
I just beat Call of Pripyat, and I gotta say, I was real disappointed at the ending. Still an amazing game though, and a fantastic climax all the way to the end.
Is it just me or do you run faster in Complete?
The running speed in all 3 stalker games is ridiculous. I'm not complaining about it, I enjoy being able to outrun everything
better be i just ran the length of chernobyl 5 times because of these goddamn moonlights [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] only to wind up in a hallway with 15 exoskeletons with shotguns a gauss rifle that does balls to them and when i quickload i have 4 seconds to run away from someone that spawned behind me
Is it just me or do you run faster in Complete?
Yeah, I don't remember running this fast in vanilla. It does seem to be extremely fast. Like I am on roller blades (lol).
Is it just me or do you run faster in Complete?
I found you ran slower...... [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] I'm using Cop BTW
LURK tones down the running and walking speeds quite well but it's annoying how NPCs walk faster than you
Okay, so after some more playing I have a SIG 550 silenced and scoped, a Benelli M3 and my trusty Pernach and I'm heading to lab X16! Couple of strange things though. Firstly there are a bunch of extra mutants marked in the pda's encyclopedia, but I have only encountered regualr Zone wildlife. And weirder still I was running through Wild Territory and some barrels began to float and attack me, like there was a poltergeist nearby, but I can't locate one. I went up to a couple vantage points around the area and pulled out my binoculars but I'm unable to locate it. WTF is attacking me and how do I kill it?

I don't particularly remember poltergeists or similar floating boxes in that area regardless, if you can't kill it, obviously just leave the area or avoid it for a while until it's gone

And it's sort of hard to avoid, its in the very centre area of the wild territory, around the trains, where bloodsuckers do weird little loops. Near the unfinished building on the left that you have to pass to get to Yanov. I don't want to get smacked in the head by a barrel while I'm running back from wild territory.

And actually to my knowledge they can appear there in vanilla too, they're just extremely rare.
you have to pass to get to Yanov.
Yantar
How do I kill it then, I can't seem to locate it.
Let the wild dogs take care of it. Actually , most of the time I encounter a Poltergeist at the Wild Territory, they're chased by a huge group of dogs. e: it could also have flown to the area where you find the family rifle. You know, the little underground section with electro anomalies. Also, S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 needs more Poltergeists, not those pussy-ass Pyrogeists.

Poltergeists are the best thing to write about. The horror theme they add is awesome.
Poltergeists are the best thing to write about. The horror theme they add is awesome.
They don't really scare me in SoC as much as they just piss me off. I just run around with a shotgun telling to stop fucking throwing stuff at me.
Remember the first time you went into X18. And the clutter starts floating. I shat bricks right there. [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] The loud noises as boxes break and smash against walls near you.

Plus the [sp]snork in the room with the scientist made me jump out of my seat[/sp]
