Cool screens, bro. I just got to the underground area and fought my first bloodsucker :3: Unfortunately, when I eventually got out of the underground my game crashed while I was fighting bandits. :smith: On SoC, of course.
I ask again, what do I do with these r1 r2 and shared folders in the kingos MAX shaders mod?
SMP in general is a big problem for weaker computers. Do you have full or lite?
Full, I believe.
Hey Thorny, how's the Underground coming along?
Before I bought stalker, I thought that you needed new batteries for your flashlight/NVGs every so often. How would that make you guys feel if that was implemented?
Well I guess I am playing backwards then, I am playing CoP first then CS then SOC, oh well. Also, how do I install mods? I want to install Kingo's shaders.
NO DON'T. The story in Call of Pripyat won't make a lick of sense unless you play ShoC or CS first. Moreover, some surprises and the characters you meet will be ruined if you play Call of Pripyat first!
Before I bought stalker, I thought that you needed new batteries for your flashlight/NVGs every so often. How would that make you guys feel if that was implemented?
More survival feel I guess... Batteries for the NVG would be good but god-dang-diddly if I'm ever letting go of that unlimited flashlight. I've played HL2 man, I don't want to go down that route anymore. I would appreciate a tac-light add-on for assault rifles and pistols though. Also laser-sight addons so that pistols could be really useful even after you turn off ironsights. Now, you're thinking : Why the hell you'd need a tac-light addon for your AR if you already have the headlamp? Easy : if you're using the headlamp, the enemies will target it, hitting you in the head more often. Also, it would be a brighter, but more narrow light so it would be good for blinding Burers and combat in general, but it wouldn't be so good for exploration etc.
If I actually get TFW and reloaded to work, now that I have the correct version, would anybody watch it if I streamed it?
Oh yeah, I'd be down for some TFW Reloaded stream anytime I'm awake. Btw, could you post your gamedata(/instructions on how to merge it,maybe that'd be easier) sometime, I'd really love to get my hands on some TFW Reloaded too :kiddo: .
Hey Thorny, how's the Underground coming along?
Taking a break from it to work on the Cordon again. Almost got all the basic stuff down in it. Someone recommended me it and I want to see them.

I beat stalker for the first time ever on LURK. God damn that endgame is so freaking long, next time I'm just going straight to the wish granter.

Also, flashlights should be equipment too. First level, you have some shitty penlight or something, next level a real small flashlight, then something like a big Maglite (also good for clubbing someone in the head), then one of those really big industrial flashlights, and of course the headlamp. All of these would have up- and downsides, the smallest ones would eat less batteries and weight less but also provide shitty light with a short range, and would not necessarily follow your aiming reticule exactly. Also only usable with one-handed weapons (or taped to guns, but then they'd be slightly off-center or something, actual flashlight attachments as a proper alternative). Bigger ones would be heavier, eat more batteries, and if it got to melee combat you could do a quick bash with it or something to stun your opponent for a second. These could not be taped to guns, but their light would be VERY focused and would reach very far. The headlamp should be the most "convenient" alternative as it would free your hands, but maybe it would flicker occasionally and have a terrible range. GSC should hire me as their ideas guy
Can anyone list some mods I should try for SoC? I've been playing it a while, but my friend told me its way better with mods.
AMK LURK (1.05, 1.1 is pretty polarizing)
I'm not gonna post instructions, but I might split it up into many archives because my upload speed is pretty bad and then let blaberry rerar it and upload it to his ftp if he wants to.
Just curious, do you have any estimate when(if) you're streaming today or tomorrow ?
Just updated to 1.0006 on SoC but when I attempt to connect to a server I get the loading screen and then, with no error message, it just pops straight back to the server browser. I'm still looking forward to playing a multiplayer match though, whenever that'll be.
Also, how do I install mods? I want to install Kingo's shaders.
Copy and pasted from the download page. [release]INSTRUCTIONS: Step 1. FSGame.ltx If you have not used a mod before in STALKER it is required that you enable the game data folder. To make this happen, look inside your STALKER root directory and you will find a file called fsgame.ltx. Open it up and it should be the second line you need to edit. It will appear (If you haven't edited it before) like this: $game_data$ = false|true|$fs_root$|gamedata\ This is telling the game to ignore everything and just read the game files in the database archives. We need to change that. Change that line to appear as: $game_data$ = true|true|$fs_root$|gamedata\ Now it will load any files you have in the gamedata folder instead of the same named files in the databases. Simple? Save and exit. Step 2. Extracting Extract the shader folder into your STALKER gamedata folder. If a shader folder already exists, delete it to ensure compatibility. Step 3. Setting up Make your way to gamedata\shaders\r2 and locate a file called "ShaderSettings.txt". From there you can enable and disable all the features included in the mod. Remember, there are many features that are disabled by default which you can activate yourself.[/release]
To reiterate my question, is there any way (Without cheating) to get better carrying capacity in CoP Redux?
Hercules!
artifacts n shit
To reiterate my question, is there any way (Without cheating) to get better carrying capacity in CoP Redux?
The hercules medicine. Once you get better detectors you can also find weight-limit-increasing artifacts.
Any new cool CoP mods out?
How long on average does it take to complete Shadow of Chernobyl? With all of the talk about CoP in this thread I'm anxious to install it and give it a whirl. Then again, after SoC I need to buy Clear Sky. I have a long way to go yet.
Any new cool CoP mods out?
WotW is coming.
