That happened to me a few times as well, I think it's because they can't find enough supplies to finish the workshop. Can anyone confirm this? I'm not 100% sure.
First of all, make sure that you have a builder that's free. Second, you should make sure that there's nothing that's higher priority in your kingdom. (If a stockpile has higher priority, the builder will be a hauler instead of building) Third, make sure that you have enough supplies. Building items can take a good amount of time, especially if the building site is far away from where your builder usually lose his time (They'll often be found at the carpenter and Sawmill, in my experience) My worst problem is with removing floors. The AI has to be micro-managed so it doesn't stuck itself and die of thirst. [editline]28th June 2012[/editline]
Paid, downloaded, installed. won't start. What gives? Edit: Paid, Downloaded, Installed, Played, Demo cut short.... How do I activate?
If you bought it on the website, use the link in your e-mail. If you bought it on desura, then you install it on desura.
This looks pretty awesome, but would it be fun for a DF player?
My gnomes were just about to starve, I had no idea what I was going to do, I just accepted the fact that my gnomes were going to die Until I remembered I live in a giant apple tree forest
This looks pretty awesome, but would it be fun for a DF player?
The problem I'm facing right now is that is that there aren't any ways to bind things like mining to certain keys so you have to go through menus with your mouse/arrow keys each time you want to do something. It has already been suggested on the reddit forums and main site forums so I'm sure we'll see it in the next few builds. So coming from only ever using your keyboard in DF you'll probably find it alot slower. Other than that it is VERY similar to DF in basically every aspect except that there isn't a major learning curve.
This looks good, but I'll only consider buying it once it has as much or more content than Dwarf Fortress.

Well, damn. I'm at the first day of winter, and apparently, having a lot of gnome Idle makes the FPS drops. So, right now I have 27 gnomes picking their nose, and my FPS is stalled at 5. Oh crap.
Okay I think I need help, one of my gnomes has gone and got themselves injured, I have bandages in a stockpile however this gnome was injured in the leg and can no-longer walk apparently. I paused the game because I don't want them to bleed to death, but I'm still wonder what I need to do edit: due to no response for 45 mins, I just put a bandage stockpile next to him, he then died within like 3 seconds of me unpausing
Oh, apparently it does. I was wondering what was up with the fps drops. Three idle builders, enough resources and three unfinished workshops.. Fucking build you idiots. [editline]29th June 2012[/editline] Just now I had 11 idle gnomes, framerate was at around 50. Now I have 8 idle and it's at 10. Huh. Definitely needs to be improved.

everything was perfect and then all die the end. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/R5NqW.png[/img_thumb]

A quick remedy is to raise your stockpiles priority to 1, then when it's full or they're all back to idling, put another to 1. All of your Gnomes are set as Haulers, it's only they won't haul if they don't deem it necessary (bunch of asshole). Currently, if a Gnome suffered important damage, he's forced to die out. There will be hospitals later and you'll be able to give some wooden legs to your merry gnomes. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/R5NqW.png[/img_thumb]
Did you have a distillery or a well? That's the only reason your gnomes have all died. Losing is fun, restart and this time make sure to make a distillery and brew some booze. (You'll have to make sure they don't turn all the food into booze though)
This pleases me, don't see it on Desura yet though... hmm...
Desura has an estimated update release of 24-48 hours. I hope you'll see it before the end of weekend though. I also seem that have found a cave system that goes down to -45 depth...
Oh wait there it is, me likey.
How do you remove block walls? I can't seem to figure it out..
How do you remove block walls? I can't seem to figure it out..
Mine them
Me want :( Any kind gentleman lend me the proposed cash to get this? If so I will name one of my Gnomes after you and make him my legendary warrior, and have him rule over all other Gnomes!

So I built a wall with a few doors to keep my farmlands and entrance to my main base secure. Then goblins came and were able to use the doors and killed all my yaks and a few of my gnomes. So how the fuck are you supposed to wall shit off without trapping yourself in as well? Even a small chore like doing yard work for a neighbor or something. It's eight fucking dollars... how hard is that to earn?

Obviously, a much better decision would be placing guards at the door. That's what I've been doing.

I don't know how sturdy walls are in Gnomoria, but fully enclosing the area in walls with a ceiling will keep out everything in DF. It's time consuming, but generally worth it in the long run.

Make sure you keep your underground lit up.
How do I feed my gnomes? I mean, they are always hungry. It's just having a kitchen and cooking things and wait til they get it? Also, didn't see more animals, do I have to search for them? Like, sending gnomes? And one last thing: What is a gnomad?

You just have to harvest berries for the most part. check the food counter on the top left. If you have above 0 food and Drink, you are fine. You get 2 yaks when you start the game. You make a pasture and they breed then you murder every single one of them. you can buy more animals from the merchant when you get him. Gnomad is a Nomad gnome. "Gnomad"

If you ever get low cut more apples off trees, or eat a yak... alive
Uh, that's nice. About the gnomads, I just need to "give" a profession to them?
Generally, when they're set as the Gnomad profession, they'll do what they're best at. You don't really need to give them a profession, but I do it anyway. Make sure that everyone has something to do.
