With this I still tend to see shit not getting done while gnomads are Idling, so if you aren't getting something done you want, you go to population, Assign, and you put them to whatever is needed.
A lot of Gnomiad are actually best at hauling thing, so they'll wait until they have something to carry before being useful. keep mining :v:
I crafted some bronze pickaxes and I want my miners to use them, how can I change their tools?

They'll automatically pick it up if their profession is miner.
Just got this. I'm sort of confused on how to control my gnomes.

You should read the wiki on Getting Started. It will help you greatly!
Once you've done everything in the guide, you will have a far easier time doing everything. Then you can ask me or anyone in the thread for anything else.
I recommend you play in peaceful mode to start. You won't have annoying enemies butchering your gnomes.
so is this game as !FUN! as dwarf fortress or what
so is this game as !FUN! as dwarf fortress or what
- Misunderstood -
It's an easier to pick up and play Dwarf Fortress. Instead of reading a 5 hour long video to play it, you can read a 10 minute Wiki page and get the rest on your own. Of course, the game is in its Alpha state, so there is bugs and not a lot of content. Still fun though, In my opinion.
Feuver I don't think you understand what !FUN! means when speaking of Dwarf Fortress.
Feuver I don't think you understand what !FUN! means when speaking of Dwarf Fortress.
Well, sadly I don't. I haven't played Dwarf fortress, so I apologize for misunderstanding.
Though I'll give a wild guess and say it's the "losing is fun" thing?
Do we get emails for a new version when one comes out after we buy it?
Do we get emails for a new version when one comes out after we buy it?
Nope, the first e-mail will always contain the newest update download, so keep it safe somewhere.
Trying out the demo, I've mined down 8 levels and have found no stone whatsoever so I'm starting a new world
[editline]7th July 2012[/editline]
Same on this world, where the fuck is stone found?

Try to mine into a mountain, you'll find stone much faster, otherwise you'll have to keep digging.
you seem angry feuver, I just wanted to know if there is the same atmosphere of utter hopelessness in this game as there is in DF
you seem angry feuver, I just wanted to know if there is the same atmosphere of utter hopelessness in this game as there is in DF
I'm not angry, sorry if it seemed so :v:
I just didn't know what you meant by !FUN!, I never saw it used before, and googling it didn't bring any results.
That's because DF players just say that they're having a lot of Fun right now.
The game has a lot of potential, its just not intuitive enough for me right now. Maybe its a combination of it being in Alpha and me being really picky, but there's so many things that should be much simpler than they are.
I wish I could place crates manually in stockpiles. Or if there is a full stockpile with one item in one tile, a crate can be but on that tile, and the item put inside it, instead of having to wait for the item to be moved before a crate is put there. And finally, I wouldn't mind if haulers could take items from stockpiles to workbenches.

I think the ability to place crate/barrels will soon be implemented.
.87 has an action bar now. Sounds like things will be alot easier now.
This may be a huge bump, but Gnomoria is on steam greenlight.

Another bump, Gnomoria is on IndieGameStand for 96 hours, pay-what-you-want.

Might get this later on, seems like a good deal. Although I wonder how it developped so far.

So, is this game worth getting? I've been looking at it for a while, but still can't decide.
If you ever wanted to play DF but it seemed too complicated for you, then yes. Otherwise, check out some LPs of it on youtube. I personally like this one http://forums.gnomoria.com/index.php?topic=1719.0
God damn mants and beetles. You can't do shit against them with anything but doors and torches.
http://gnomoria.com/gnomoria-v0-9-is-released/
Gnomoria is now in "beta", if someone forgot about this game and now want to go back after some updates, now its a good time, some cool features in UI, and not only in that, were added.
This game is really relaxing, for someone that likes this stuff :)
