Yes, go into practice games or coop vs ai first to get a feel for the game before going into normals unless you've played HoN/Dota before.
Also, when I wanted to try this game out, I accidentally downloaded Champions Online because I thought it was League of Legends. It's downloading now.

Disagreed. They've nerfed xin too much. All ad carries, jarvan or even renekton are way better than xin now.

1. Xin is not an AD carry, he is a Tanky DPS initiator
2. Xin initiates much better than Jarvan or Irelia, his initiation is amazing, and even better coupled with an Amumu or Alistar.
3. Renekton can't even get close to Xin's DPS.
4. He is able to rape at the 20 minute mark with a Black Cleaver, and then after that when he builds tanky, he is amazing initiator and tanky DPS. Once he has an early Black Cleaver, no champion, save instagib champions, can out-deeps him.

When did i say he was an AD carry? I said, when you're choosing a champion, you're better off with an AD carry or other bruisers like jarv or ren.
Jarv's got better sustained damage and irelias got more burst. Also, Irelia's Q is better than xin's E because it actually scales with something.
Renekton is a better early game champ.
