Apparently this works
If that works, you are a big, guddamn hero (as is the person who figured it out).
that flash game is pretty much nothing like evil genius
Actually they sound pretty much exactly the same.
Actually they sound pretty much exactly the same.
In the same manner that Duke Nukem, Half Life, and Halo are all first person shooters where you fight off alien invasions, I suppose.
Battle stations was a great game, had it on Xbox 360
I should get together a petition to get the Guys at Valve to buy the rights to and make a sequel of Evil Genius (Using the Source Engine and TF2 Art Style) I think they're the only ones who could properly nail a sequel, as they seem to have the right humour for it (Seriously, when TF2 came out I was like "Damn, this so looks like a Evil Genius FPS Game."
In the same manner that Duke Nukem, Half Life, and Halo are all first person shooters where you fight off alien invasions, I suppose.
No, of course not. You're blowing this out of proportion, sir.
Get your tinfoil hats ready, because you represent an evil genius hidden in an underground base on an island, manupilating the whole world with your henchmen. You build a base, you hire slaves workers, you train them, you send them out into the world to accomplish missions and steal cash and valuable items. Of course you won't stay unnoticed when you shrink the Eiffel Tower and transport it to your island to decorate your base with it! That's why you have to deal with special agents and less special agents which you can either distract with a hotel on your island or they'll run straight into your evil traps before they wake up in a prison cell waiting to get tortured or end up as fried meat in a bodybag hanging inside your cooling chamber. Not free of bugs and the modding ability is limited but it's one of the best games I've ever played!
Similarities between the two: 1. You are an evil genius in his base. 2. You gain notoriety for your nefarious deeds. 3. You hire henchmen and send them out to do jobs for you. 4. You build up your base's defense. 5. You fight off special enemies. Differences: 1. Attacks come in waves in WC. 2. You can't build a hotel; you just kill enemies. 3. Your final goal in EG is (presumably) not the destruction of Earth, as it is in WC.

Their facebook evil genius game has gotten the humour and setting right.
Similarities between the two:
Still what are you trying to express with this smilie :colbert: when comparing a flashgame from 2008 with an (in many people's opinions) almost flawless PC game from 2004?
Someone add Zombie Shooter 2 to the OP, it's one of the best top down shooters of all time.
Create entries like I did and I'll do that.
If we're talking hidden gems here, I think Codename: Gordon's about as hidden as it gets, since it doesn't even have a page in the Steam store anymore. Copy and paste this link into your browser's address bar to download it. It's a free game, in case you didn't know. steam://install/92
No idea why you put the RIP trilogy up there, seeing as how they're shit and a complete waste of money.
Star Ruler is an excellent space-themed 4X RTS, with features such as designing your own ships and putting engines on planets (That's what the 'planetary engines' are, right?). $6.80 during the Summer Sale.
3. Your final goal in EG is (presumably) not the destruction of Earth, as it is in WC.
Presumably? Have you not played it? There are three possible endings depending on which doomsday device you develop. I won't ruin too much but the general 'themes' are destruction, conformity and decimation. All of which result in you being appointed dictator of the entire world. Or if you don't care and the plot isn't really a plot anyway [sp](Respectively) Earthquake beam which destroys everything and spews magma onto the surface, ID Remover (Or something like that) which turns everybody into clones of one of your minions (That is, all men, women, children and animals become the same guy) and an anti-gravity beam which draws everything not bolted down into space. Not sure if it's supposed to be the whole world which it does it to or just the city in the ending cinematic though...[/sp]
Why has OP so many dumbs? It is a good thread and there are a lot of good cheap games on Steam.
:colbert:
Only real similarity is the theme. Evil genius is better.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/40400/ You have to defeat the evil AI, and are completely outnumbered with the odds against you. The scale of this game is beyond anything I've seen in an RTS, has Co-op, game times that can range from 4 to 48 hours depending on the map size. It's just insane. These are the abbreviated patch notes for update 4.0. "The full release notes were over 55,000 words -- or, 222 pages of a novel." The patch after that was of a similar size.
I've owned that and the expansions for a while but still not had a proper game of it yet, I really need to get on that.
Great game, the multiplayer is awesome, people still play it
Also another hidden gem, I found through the sale: It was like $3, and it's basically an incredibly eye pleasing music visualizer with shooting. Really good to relax or waste time on, and for $3 it's practically worth the purchase (original price was $10).
anyone heard of dwarfs?! Of course you haven't, it's too underground
anyone heard of dwarfs?! Of course you haven't, it's too underground
have you heard of a terrible, overused joke? of course you have, you just used one.
have you heard of a terrible, overused joke? of course you have, you just used one.
nice parody, but it's not that overused. atleast not as overused as the indie games are hipster joke
