now speed that animation up
No, you probably would do it that slowly, it was discussed in an earlier thread how no one would do it perfectly every time and would have to be a bit slow.

Then it would look like he is grabbing a mag from air.
It could rather have a longer magazine fetching part.

By the way, since we are in the Slavic language region, shouldn't we have russian accented voice actors such as me ?

Could you maybe make the blur fade in and out, rather than just toggling on and off?

It makes sense for him to move slowly when pulling a mag out and lining it up, but he should insert and release the slide a bit faster
Actually he just could drop the magazine without taking it out.Since the magazine weights very well.
0.0453 kgs or 0.1lbs.Since i doubt you would care for a magazine when being fired at.
wow nobody can take a joke

Will you stop complaining already? I don't give a shit whether it's linear or not, has free-aim or not (SWAT 4 is a tactical game and it does not have it), I only want it to be fun.

Well put, sir.
Well, it's hard not to admit that one of the most appealing and original aspects of the mod at first was the non-linearity of it. It will be fun either way, but still. I will miss the dreams of exploration in a source mod.

It was still linear to a point.
Yeah, but the environment could still be explored to an extent, albeit limited.

No I'm not complaining, just poking fun. JLea has a point about free roam; it would be boring. Walking about between objectives is a fine way to go about it.
Yeah, but the environment could still be explored to an extent, albeit limited.
I'm sure some exploration would still be possible, obviously its not like you're gonna be able to go back to points but this shouldn't stop them from having the kind of areas they wanted.
What if the gun was always blurry, and went into focus while reloading?

Open-world games are really hard to make. Getting a Source mod out the door is hard enough without adding the immense amount of extra work involved in doing a sandbox game. Plus the Source engine really isn't designed with that in mind--big maps make it shit its pants, it doesn't have any kind of streaming-loading, etc.
you are definitely not going to be able to get an open-world game using the binary space partitioning optimization model that source uses, it's only good for linear (or quasi-linear) games
Source is outdated as shit. I am surprised it has made it this far with L4D2 and Portal 2.

Yeah the thing is, it's not. It's just not built for open-world games.

it's an engine for linear games. it's designed to be scalable and it's not trying too hard to look good to the point where it looks (dare i say) almost meretricious.
Ivan's secret reloading simulator.
So is it going to be free-roam-linear ala' Borderlands or straight-forward linear like 99% of all modern games?

Half-compliment and full-blown insult eh?

It's true.

It's gonna be like Day Hard. Confusing and fun.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with trying and doing your best :)

Actually it is pretty hugely outdated, on top of not being built for open ended games.
Actually it is pretty hugely outdated, on top of not being built for open ended games.
I thought the whole point of the Source engine was in the name- it only tends to contain the basic settings required for the game to make it fairly accessible to lower-end PCs? That's why it gets better with every game- as technology progresses, people are more likely to have better computers, so VALVe can make their games look better.
Actually it is pretty hugely outdated, on top of not being built for open ended games.
But you can still make some pretty awesome stuff with Source if you have nice assets at your disposal and a bit of time and skill.
you can pretty much guarantee that valve is going to hugely update it if they want to continue to use it
