Cool the title changed, magically
or maybe a certain moderator changed it after asking jlea about it earlier.
or maybe a certain moderator changed it after asking jlea about it earlier.
no it's definitely magic
Crysis 1 and 2 were the only other ones, as far as I know.
Did it happen when reloading there? I only remember it showing up when you were customizing your weapon/suit.
Stalker: Clear Sky had it when you were reloading. It looked really nice.
hard to see, screen blurs except for the gun when reloadin
I believe Conduit 1/2 and GoldenEye 007, both for the Wii, did this and it got pretty irritating and distracting after awhile.
I believe Conduit 1/2 and GoldenEye 007, both for the Wii, did this and it got pretty irritating and distracting after awhile.
It's in clear sky as well have to admit I did find it annoying even if it looked cool
I think its alright, since you are disoriented while reloading, and can't just pop a new magazine in while running backwards, doing a tripple backflip and keeping perfect aim on your target wich makes reloading nothing more than a few seconds when no bullets come out of your gun. I often find myself not even looking at the reloading animation in games. With the blur you get a better impression of actually doing something since you are forced to focus on the reloading process and not keep us perfect awareness of what is going on while you're doing it. It also makes you time your reloadings and thus adds a bit more tactic to the gameplay. If its pulled off right. Oh, 999 posts... again
I believe Conduit 1/2 and GoldenEye 007, both for the Wii, did this and it got pretty irritating and distracting after awhile.
black for ps2/xbox also had this
Cool thing: I'm rewriting all the code (not the big stuff like inventory/menus) on the OB Skeleton SDK. So there'll be no references to HL2, native coop support and some other cool stuff.

I am now more hyped than ever for this mod, for very damn few Source mods/games have no reference to HL. I want something new and this is giving to to me. Not only that, but this can make the customization level much higher. I hope you remove all stock sounds, because if I hear one more fucking HL:2 stock sound from any mod or game I will punch someone I've heard them so much.
no references to HL2
What exactly does this mean? like the executable won't be named hl2.exe?
What exactly does this mean? like the executable won't be named hl2.exe?
that's impossible!
Heresy I say! Dynamic distance DoF is pretty neat, its a very subtle change but it makes a huge difference.
I wouldn't really blur the whole screen. Just some blurred vignette. Won't be as distracting while keeping focus on the gun.
native coop support
Fuck yeah!
Oh wow that HUD still looks ugly why on earth did we choose that all this time over the shitty , coffee stained paper style hud?
Oh wow that HUD still looks ugly why on earth did we choose that all this time over the shitty , coffee stained paper style hud?
I actually prefer the current 'style', but it's not pulled-off correctly IMO. If they got a good HUD artist then it would look amazing if they kept that style. [editline]5th June 2011[/editline]
ivan's secretions
Nevermind, replace the HUD with... uhh... White "liquid" dripping down.
Oh god not this again. I remember reading 10 pages of arguing about the hud and why would someone have paper in their eyes, and how blood doesnt squirt on your eyes when you get shot and in the end it turned into mocking Call of Duty. And also I'm quite sure that the text only appears when you are reloading.

It should be a simple text that appears (please god not Comic Sans) ONLY when you reload that tells you your ammo count. Or when you reload and a designated key.
I'd like to be a part of a mod team someday :smith:
Oh wow that HUD still looks ugly
I made it in photoshop in 2 minutes IIRC
Oh wow that HUD still looks ugly
I like it. It looks like something out of a GameBoy game.
I'd like to be a part of a mod team someday :smith:
Then become capable at a specific creation process, or multiple.
hard to see, screen blurs except for the gun when reloadin
Sikk's mod for Doom 3 has this. Oh my god it alone can make the game so much more intense.
black for ps2/xbox also had this
DOF in Ps2? How is that possible?
I made it in photoshop in 2 minutes IIRC
How do you replace the HUD with VGUI elements? All the tutorials on the VDC are useless when it comes to that.
DOF in Ps2? How is that possible?
as a shader :downs:
I made it in photoshop in 2 minutes IIRC
This is not something I want to hear. What was wrong with the old HUD way back with the paper stuff?
