Might I ask what Free-Aim is? [editline]7th June 2011[/editline] Sorry for not being obsessed with guns, but I'm curious.
Its nothing to do with knowing anything about guns. It just means your cross hair sways around the screan instead of being locked to the center.
Might I ask what Free-Aim is? [editline]7th June 2011[/editline] Sorry for not being obsessed with guns, but I'm curious.
The FPS camera movement on Wii games
Yeah, I like free-aim (Although I can't really pinpoint why) and was kind of looking forward to it in Ivan's. Especially since it also has that neat thing where the bullets actually originate from the gun instead of your face like most games. It's not a big thing, but it was a nice touch, and just having an option for it would give the game the best of both worlds.
Will there at least be gun inertia, ala Crysis?
The free aim JLea coded was kinda loose and didn't feel good, I think that's why he removed it. If it engaged the screen movement much more softly and smoothly, instead of suddenly going from freely moving across the screen to turning your view at the edge of the screen it'd be much better.
dang it, the free aim was the one feature I was most excited about trying out. It looked so damn cool in the videos.
Everyone hated the free aim
Who the fuck said he didn't like it? Sure as hell wasn't the majority of people. Anyway those guys should burn in hell for convincing Jlea
Make the free aim a toggleable option for those who still want it,not enabled by default of course.
This! This more than anything.
free aim as loose as it was was pretty unrealistic unless your head is in a vice let them finish the damn mod instead of asking for features
Will there at least be gun inertia, ala Crysis?
Sounds hard to do. Is it hard to do?
gun intertia? eh?
I guess he means how the guns/arms kind of lag behind when you turn, And then when you stop they swing a bit past where you stopped and then correct themselves.
Yeah like when your wrists are made of Jello
Yeah like when your wrists are made of Jello
Yeah, I hated that effect. Even though it did fit Crysis.
That's in HL2...
Not really.
I am pretty sure it is in source by default
Yes it is, it's called CalcViewmodelLag(); Anyways, here!
Yeah but Crysis' is cooler
Yes it is, it's called CalcViewmodelLag(); Anyways, here!
Like I said on steam, it is nice but not realistic, from my experience shooting M4, M16, 240, SAW and so on you are still able to keep general accuracy while hip shooting. Now don't get me wrong for the SAW and 240 and the bigger weapons it already has pretty wide spread but it still stays generally in the same area, from the looks of the video the weapon shoots up, now it does slightly happen but not to the extent of you have to stop shooting to get it back in normal position. From my experience only time you have to stop shooting is to, let the weapon cool down a bit. While shooting the saw/240 they tell you to say a quick phrase like "Shooting the children is fun" while you press the trigger, you say that phrase in your head or some other thing and than you pause for a second than start again as to not overheat the barrel.
Weird, I thought MG's would have less recoil because they're heavy + have a smaller round? And yeah, the recoil can be adjusted, it was just the effect. Is the AK that big?
I think it's too big, the grip is usually fully covered by the hand.
It looks fine. The guy holding it just has brittle bone disease
Fabulous holding stance.
Yes it is, it's called CalcViewmodelLag(); Anyways, here!
Jesus christ I turned the volume up when the 'RELOADING' part happened.
Giant AK [editline]8th June 2011[/editline] and yeah MGs should have less felt recoil, they're much heavier than ARs
It doesn't line up w/ the hands if its smaller + looks weird. Who cares. [editline]8th June 2011[/editline] Gun on back, AK looks huge 0_0
uh, obviously some people care, it's huge + the stock is sticking way into his shoulder because of it being huge [editline]8th June 2011[/editline] can't you edit the animation so the hand is moved back slightly?
nope! [editline]8th June 2011[/editline] normal size now
Oh thank god...
I don't think anyone disliked freeaim
