What happens when you click on the links? They work fine for me.
Yes, but the zipx program does not extract the .001, .002 etc parts together. It tries to do each one on its own and then some of the files are corrupt on extraction.

Did you tried 7zip?
What the shit, how am I supposed to start out in Redux, my starting 30 AK bullets and 20 pistol bullets are very quickly wasted trying to get those god damn dogs off me that kills me in a few seconds if I don't kill them quick, so I'm stuck with 100 rubble, an AK in bad condition with no bullet, an armor in bad condition, no food, no bandages or anything, this mod is more unforgiving than expected.
Well the correct course of action is RUN LIKE HELL TO THE SKADOVSK
Here's some pointers for general survival in Redux
1: Plan out your actions before embarking on a raid
2: Start by hanging out in the immediate vicinity of Skadovsk, gearing up by picking the scraps left by deceased stalkers
3: Don't take stupid risks. If you see a pack of dogs and you aren't packing a shotgun, it's best to take the long way to avoid them.
4: Let the human(oid) enemies come relatively close before you start shooting(take cover, though). Even zombies can kill you at relatively long ranges in Redux.
5: Don't get greedy. When you've found good loot, take it to the Skadovsk instead of risking all the loot for a little bit more.
6: Don't overload yourself with useless junk. With the new weight limit you'll really learn what is useful gear and what's not. Shotguns are even better in Redux earlygame since every shot counts and when you loot an enemy, you're as likely to get 9 buckshot as 9 5.45 with Redux's drop rates.
7: Prepare for your operations correctly : when going out at nighttime, either pack night goggles or NV scope for your rifle. The use of silencers is also recommended because personal experience has shown that the enemy actually has a harder time locating you when you use them.
8: Don't sleep the night away. Sleeping in the earlygame is a waste of food. Learn to embrace the night and hunt for zombies while other stalkers are asleep. Hang out with bandits because they provide distraction for the dogs and other pests you might encounter.
Btw, you aren't using any quicksaves, right?
Quicksaving kills the excitement of Redux and other manlymodo-mods and leaves only the frustration.
Should I quicksave in my first playthrough or be a macho manly rookie?
If it's Call of Pripyat be a macho manly rookie. It's a stable game so you won't lose much progress but it's also easy enough that quicksaves negate all challenge.
Should I quicksave in my first playthrough or be a macho manly rookie?
Bandit master race.
First playthrough of CoP, or Redux?
I quicksave to avoid unnecessary and non-fun parts, namely, treks through deserts. Not in firefights, though.
So, I reinstalled Clear Sky, figuring I'd get around to beating it now that I have some free time. However, when I start it up, I get sounds but no video, just a black screen. I hear the menu background music but there's no visual.
No mods are installed and it's a fresh install in Steam.
Anyone?
I hope that sometimes a stalker party will request you to go with them on a raid in the next game. It would be easier to follow them and it'd help develop the relations between the player and a certain group more. It'd also be of a bigger importance to the player since he can gather a big profit from completing their objective and it could end up with some interesting unique results for each player.

Yeah, I alt-tabbed in and out, still just a black screen with the menu music. I also verified the game caches, but that didn't help.

Hm, could be that your game is not running in a proper display. You could try forcing it to run in a window on a smalle resolution and see if it works.

What's the command line for running CS windowed?
Or where is the config file so I can change the resolution?
Yay, finally figured out how to take screenshots with absurdly huge resolutions!
[editline]16th June 2011[/editline]
disable fullscreen
type into the console
vid_mode 3840x1080
then
vid_restart

for an example res.
Darn it, my system is more than capable of running S.T.A.L.K.E.R maxed out but whenever I enable dynamic lighting everything is dark as hell, and I'm talking pitch black even at day.
I'm already rich as fuck and I haven't even gone to Yanov station yet :smug: ( vanilla )
Vanilla CoP is casual as all hell, it's easier than any other game or mod.
So last topic someone mentioned a fix for the annoying shadow glitches on the edge of your vision like it was common knowledge, anyone care to explain it to me?
r2_ls_sun_near_border or something like that. In CoP, suggestions pop up under the console prompt.

Its an external until I get a real HDD, FAT32 is superior here.

True, I tried to increase the difficulty by disabling the hud altogether.
Indeed, on most externals, FAT is what you want.
New question; for OL it requires world wide patch 1.0005, and my game is the US version. When I tried installing using US 1.0005 patch; the mod did not work. I need to install with the 1.0005 world wide patch; but how?
When I last played OL all I had to have was patch 1.0005...
Reinstall stalker and install WW patch 1.0005 I guess.
ALL FALL TO THE POWER
