well the lethal dose is 4,500 mSv/year (if i remmember it correctly) so if it kills you in a couple of seconds the dose shud be well over 9000
Was that intended to be funny?
Yeah, I F5 really often, but it's on one save.
I'm glad it isn't like Far Cry 2, where F5 makes a new save and F9 loads the last save. By the end of the game I had hundreds of saves and it took like 30 seconds to load the save list. With STALKER, it just might crash while trying to load all the saves. :v:
Clear Sky is definitely not as fun as SoC. It lacks the labs and the Agroprom underground was tiny and pretty easy to beat. Yantar also had a scarier feel to it before, now it's just a place where identical zombified stalkers walk towards the bunker. I've also reached Yantar in around 9 hours of play time. Does the game get harder/longer?
:q: [editline]23rd June 2011[/editline] Also, I'm dissapearing into a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J%C4%81%C5%86i anomaly for a day. Until tomorrow Stalkers! Pray for my liver!
Wait, you're celebrating the summer solstice already? Spring is barely ended here in the Great Lakes region!
I just installed SMP and I'm having a blast. Question: Is the train area behind the hanger in the Garbage supposed to have groups of enemies every five minutes? There are easily over fifty corpses back there I can't loot because the military and bandits keep assaulting the hanger. They killed Serily too.

Also, the endgame (after Red Forest) will be pretty hard but if you're just doing the main story without the faction wars/sidequests, it's pretty easy. I know that feel, bro. I hated how GSC marked the goddamn mutants on the PDA,taking all excitement out of exploring. And of course it pains me how they completely gutted the A-Life system that was left in ShoC. I was so pleasantly surprised when they improved the A-Life a lot in Call of Pripyat (though it's stupid how NPC's don't travel between maps) .
I'm awake. It's TFW time.
Do you want to stream for us, maybe ? [editline] derp [/editline] Also, I'm having trouble getting the FOV switch to work with CS. It works fine with CoP but for some reason doesn't with CS. I suppose you're still supposed to put the file in the main CS directory, right ?
About a God damn time I get to have an excuse to draw something, I'm working on the thing right now. ETA couple of hours
You said you'd update the stalker bro pic june 2nd :smith:
I'm awake. It's TFW time.
I'm going back to the cordon to stash some stuff and I'll probably join the loners while I'm there. Something I have noticed is that my ammo seems to deplete quicker. Having a big stock of 600 NATO ammo would go a long way in SoC, not so much here. Might just be reloaded though. At the moment I'm just playing to see the end. Is it normal that I haven't seen an artifact so far?

Joining the Loners is the easiest one and quite...unsatisfying imo. Do some sidequests if you can. Also, the artifact thing : You have to have a detector equipped to see the artifacts. The crappy detectors only detect the "useless trinket"-tier artifacts. Moreover, artifacts are usually found in the larger anomaly clusters, rather than the random anomalies.
I didn't like CoP as much as the other two games.
You know what I'd like to see? Since artifacts were so common in ShoC, I would like them to be maybe a little less so than they were in ShoC, but other NPCs would also carry and use them, so every once in a while you'd see a bandit with a raised bulletproof cap or one who can run faster than others, or maybe even one that can flank you from an irradiated spot because the lucky fucker found a crystal somewhere.

But the bulletproof thingy would be pretty sweet. Also, I'd kind of like if keeping good artifacts on your belt would encourage bandits(and other scum) to attack you in hopes of getting those artifacts. But : If you're wearing a reinforced exoskeleton and toting a medium machinegun, the low-tier bandits are less likely to attack you if they don't outnumber you by a large margin.
But : If you're wearing a reinforced exoskeleton and toting a medium machinegun, the low-tier bandits are less likely to attack you if they don't outnumber you by a large margin.
If I was wearing a reinforced exoskeleton and toting a medium machinegun I'd just kill them all.
Wow, I'm actually having trouble taking over the now Duty owned scientist bunker in Yantar. It has about 30 exosuit Duty members around it, with all of them having exoskeletons and grozas. :argh:
If I was wearing a reinforced exoskeleton and toting a medium machinegun I'd just kill them all.
I'm thinking that if you're wearing shitty lowbie gear, even "regular" stalkers might try to rob you. Besides, I was referring to a Call of Pripyat-like scenario where most of the bandits are neutral towards you. That's a scenario I don't really want to happen, I'd prefer if they were a bit more hostile, like something between ShoC and Clear Sky where they sometimes might just try and gun you down but sometimes they would be satisfied with you paying them for peaceful passage. You probably have a different philosophy when it comes to handling your actions toward the not-desirable people of the Zone. I myself somehow cannot bring myself to attacking somebody who isn't already hostile towards me because I don't consider it fair. That's part of the reason I found vanilla Call of Pripyat totally unsatisfying because there was nobody attacking you unless you attack them first.

You can carry on playing after the ending in CS? Also, anyone streaming?
Sniping Duty with my TRG22, suddenly...
http://screenshot.xfire.com/s/115276925-4.jpg
Military out of nowhere.
You can carry on playing after the ending in CS? Also, anyone streaming?
No, you can't.
Military out of nowhere.
Wait, so the Military can spawn randomly into locations in TFW ? I've seen some reports about military popping into places but haven't actually seen them.. This would be awesome since that would mean you can have hostile encounters in places you've already cleared out of factions. TFW is definitely something I have always wanted Clear Sky to be.
Well fellow stalkers, I have come back to continue my playthrough of The Faction Wars with the glorious Bandit faction! I have made a lot of progress despite it being only 1 in-game day. Starting from where I left off, I captured the Dark Valley as my boss Borov told me too. It only took a couple of in-game hours to do so. See! They are already starting to like me! Notice how they nicely accept me into their group? Before moving onto the Garbage, let us see how well us Bandits are doing amongst the other factions? Oh, we are doing well in fact. Just slightly behind Clear Sky and a little better than those stinkin' fascists that are Duty! After another couple of hours, we claimed the Eastern and Northern section of the Garbage. I had to fight off Freedom as our first encounter to claim the Northern portion. I am almost ready to smite our enemy that is Freedom! Stinkin' anarchists! TFW AI at its finest folks! Oh how somethings from vanilla CS don't change. At the end of the first day and starting into the night, I had grasped a foothold into the Army Warehouses where Freedom reigns. At dawn, I shall strike solo against the anarchists that have reigned for too long in the Zone! The fight was long and rough, but in the end the great Bandit faction just about took over Freedom! I decided to look at my PDA to see where we were in the stats as I was about to capture Freedom's precious base from them. Duty had over 50 members and were holding strong, while the Mercenaries were pretty weak. Clear Sky have a pretty good grip on Defiance right now. I wonder if things will be different now that Freedom is no more? And right after I did capture their base, the stats drastically changed. Duty managed to be destroyed by less than 30 Mercenaries and then the Mercs quadrupled! Clear Sky's numbers were reduced to half of what they were and Defiance about doubled in size. Well folks, there you have it! TFW still hasn't changed at all by always letting Defiance and the Mercenaries take over. But there still is hope! FOR THE GLORIOUS BANDIT FACTION WILL TAKE OVER THE ZONE AND CRUSH ALL OPPOSITION! Edit: Do media tags work? Because I rather have the bigger pictures instead of always thumbnailing these.
On my next playthrough I'm going to play as freedom again and just crush the mercs instantly so duty will hopefully live.
There should be an RTS mod for STALKER. You are the Monolith and have to "recruit" other STALKERS and fened yoru shit ndwhatnot. Would be p cool.
Did you know there's a S.T.A.L.K.E.R mod for Men of War ?
Except it's pretty boring and it's just some STALKER models. [editline]23rd June 2011[/editline] So uh, found out there was about 16 MBs of useless files in my mod. :v:
