Zip File, could maybe send me a link to your modified TFW? I hate having to shoot almost whole mags at people to kill them.
Also, I noticed that some enemies/allies will vault over cover, I saw it when taking over one of the points covering a approach from Garbage to Cordon, which was taken by Mercs that I gladly shot down with my Clear Sky squads.

Thanks, brro.
Is Clear Sky worth buying? It's only ten dollars right now and this Faction War mod sounds like sex.
It is very much worth it.
I like Clear Sky alot more than the other games just because it has some great mods, there are a good few locations, the Swamps are amazing at dawn and because it's what CoP should have been enviroment wise.
Of course, PLAY VANILLA FIRST.
Especially with TFW mod, it changes like 70% of the game.
What features, beside faction wars, sets CS it apart from ShOC? Is the difference really noticeable between the two games?
Different version of X-ray engine, upgrade system.

New maps, and updates to ones that existed in SoC.

New artifacts.
So uh, I don't have any of these games, but I'd like to know which game has the most to do. I wanna have a good story, with a lot of areas to explore, along with some nice visuals (Even if I need mods to do so).
CoP is the best for me.

Shadow of Chernobyl. The story is better than CoPs, and it has more mods than the other two games.
But CoP's gameplay is just so much better. More mutants, much better quests, better anomaly system.
Yea but there's no repeat quests :(

or wolf.

I don't like the anomaly system from CoP (The giant anomalies are cool, but there aren't any random ones) and the artifact system from CS/CoP.
SoC is the best, it's also my favorite game.

3 huge maps that are pointless for their size because they are almost empty, only a few more mutants that can be added into ShoC with mods, better quests because there's nothing else to do, shit anomaly system (seriously, who at GSC thought it was a good idea to clump anomalies and make them into farms), and personally I prefer ShoC's gunplay over CS/CoP's
That too, CoP's maps are pretty boring.
I don't really see the point in random anomalies.
Also, CoP's magics are NOT empty, I had mor fun exploring CoP than I did with SoC and repeat quests are laughable, as are all the quests in SoC. Fetch me this, kill that.
CoP has the Magpie mission, the Duty warehouse quests, the Mercenaries subplot, the Oasis.
SoC has much better story and more sneaking missions but that's about it. Also, the horribly boring map travelling, taking 10 minutes going from one place to another to sell something.
The point in random anomalies? It makes it feel like a deadly danger zone instead of a tourist attraction.

Yes, CoP has good sidequests, but once you've done those there's really nothing to do- and at least for me the SoC missions were actually replayable. "Kill a rookie." Hell yeah, I don't know whats going to happen this time, he might be covered in bloodsuckers or rolling with a gang that'll fuck me up.
[editline]23rd June 2011[/editline]
I've replayed CoP about 3 times and I can't really do the quests anymore, because I know what's going to happen.
I guess I can see your point.
I'd rather have both, then.
Don't get me wrong, I love CoP as a game and as part of the STALKER series. I did thoroughly enjoy it on my first and second playthrough. I just prefer SoC and maybe even CS over it. That's another thing- I really did love CS, the atmosphere just drew me in with the newer engine and everything, the only thing I didn't like was the weak weapons and how the enemy would just recapture a point over and over, but I could see over those things. It bugs me when people throw it down like some shame child.
I liked CS because it was in the same areas, just with more in it, but its flaws seem to really make me not like playing it.
Anyways, just got back from some TFW. How long until I get another squad member? I probably have to level up first, right?
Looks like I'm getting ShoC, but my friend is getting a rig off of NewEgg as well, and it comes with CoP, so he said I can have that too. Thanks guys!
Nice. Does he have it already or does he just not want it?

I talked to a guy first, and he said that he wouldn't join me. After I had captured an enemy factions base (that or out of pure coincidence I had captured an exact amount of areas to gain his recognition) someone contacted me saying that guy wanted to talk to me about joining my squad. After he joined however, my game crashed due to a stack: trace. :saddowns:
Stack trace: the bane of my gaming hobby.
Can anyone help me out? I just deactivated the brain scorcher and the fucking monolith are just creaming me. I got a SEVA suit (lol) at a little less than 3/4 protection and 3 solid hits are just destroying me. I can't make my way past them at all, seriously starting to piss me off.
Shoot more, die less? We can't really help you.

Take cover, in AMK I die in 1-2 bullets absolutely no matter where I am, and yet I got past agroprom underground and I'm at the bar right now.
If only Blaberry was here...
