Fables is forever alone in the renegades.

not cool.
I love that guy who's doing it for his kid. Made me sad.

[QUOTE=Thorny;30491369]What do you want to know about it? The Wiki is usually pretty good.[/QUOTE]
Any info about [sp]the government experiments performed in relation to psychotronics by the Soviets, including the C-Concious project.[/sp] On the last page I ask it more in detail, but people sort of ignored it...
Mercenaries for life. :colbert:
The only real info we have about Limansk is that it's where personnel from the CNPP and labs lived, and there was a constant buzzing or something that only outsiders could apparently hear, that would give them headaches. As well as that, after the first Blowout everyone in the city disappeared, apparently with their shadows burnt into the walls of the buildings.
I was reading about that, apparently [sp]Psychotronic research done by soviets during the cold war lead them to summarize that increasing the atmosphere energy levels and constantly emmiting an unhearable pitch would reduce the moral of the general population, causing discomfort and depression[/sp]
Also reading about [sp]C-concious[/sp] on the wiki and read something highly interesting. [sp]The C-Consciousness reacted quickly to the formation of the Zone. [B]It became self-aware and subordinated those who were conducting the experiment[/B]. They were assigned to tasks that the C-Consciousness needed to carry out. The C-Consciousness wanted to restrict the growth of the Zone. Its first task was the creation of the Wish Granter. [/sp] Did the creation of the Zone cause this? The way it sounds, the [sp]C-Concious[/sp] might have merely been a [sp] Biological Psychotronic[/sp] Computer...

You haven't finished SoC I take it?
[sp]The C-Consciousness is the collective consciousness of seven men, who were volunteers in an experiment to create world peace through manipulating the 'Noosphere' which apparently contains the emotions, feelings etc of everyone on the planet. It went wrong, and created the Zone, which the C-Consciousness has been trying to fix ever since. The Wish Granter was created as a way of drawing Stalkers near to the Brain Scorcher and converting them to the Monolith.[/sp]

I wouldn't be writing a fan fiction about if I hadn't. I do understand, but [sp] these volunteers, according to the wiki, were not self aware, meaning the scientists were merely harnessing them as a psi force. That or the wiki's wrong[/sp]
Summed up most of the history related to the experiments. Some parts of it might not be accurate.
[sp]Before the USSR collapsed multiple research stations have been deployed in The Zone during 1989, they have been built to study physical, psyhic and noosphere-related experiments. The main laboratory was stationed inside Pripyat(X8), while the other laboratories were stationed under operational surfance facilities to cover up the work that's being conducted below them. Those were X-16(psy), X-18(phy), Radiowave Institute(Limansk) and X-19(brain scorcher facility). Monolith Control Center was under construction at the time and information regarding it has been held top secret.
After the Union collapsed most of the documentations and people knowing about the experiments have fell into obscurity. The scientists and military personell inside the facilities remained working under the title of The Group. Monolith Control Center is finished and C-Counciousness, a device desinged to modify the Noosphere, has began construction.
Soon(aproximately before the 2000's) the Agroprom Research Institue has been built by the Ukranian government so that they can study the effects of radiation on the vegetation.
In the mean time the Gauss Rifle Testing Facility below Iron Forest has became operational and numerous tests regarding EMP weapons have been conducted there.
In the early 2000's the Agroprom Research Institute members conducted a quick meeting with The Group, which ended up with Agroprom being used as a way of getting special equipment into the laboratories without the government noticing it.
In 2005 the Gauss Rifle Project has been stopped because of massive power consumption. Jupiter Underground has been finished.
In 2006 C-Counciousness, along with a special protection mechanism built outside of the CNPP, became operational and it's influence accidentally damaged the Noosphere, causing a major radioactive emission to kill most of the people on surface of The Zone. The remaining personell continue working on the projects.
X18 came under closure when the test subjects broke out of the lab, wreaking havoc in that area.
X16's miracle machine accidentally overloaded, turning all personell into zombies.
Gauss Rifles are transported into storage facilities under Pripyat via PRIPYAT-1.
X8 evacuated, it's members form Clear Sky.
Military attempts to conduct a massive raid in 2009, it fails and most of the military troops die before leaving The Zone.
Brain Scorcher is deployed, cutting off access to the Centre. The personell died or turned into zombies.
Remaining workers continued maitaining the C-Counciousness until the device was eventually destroyed by Strelok.[/sp]

Where are your fucking spoiler tags.

That's common knowledge. :colbert:
[QUOTE=croguy;30491798]That's common knowledge. :colbert:[/QUOTE]
I have a friend who reads this thread but doesn't comment, and I've been avoiding spoilers specifically for him so he can finish the game and understand what I'm talking about before knowing what's going to happen. Spoiler tags are [sp].[/sp.] not hard, and don't [B]spoil[/B] anything.

Okay, Okay. I'm just stating that most of the guys that played the games know about the experiments.

Well they were people, so they must have been self aware. You're self aware aren't you? It's just that they formed a collective consciousness.
[QUOTE=famasfanalt;30491824]CS[/QUOTE]
last page. Did everyone just not read the last page, or just completely ignore what I wrote?
[editline]16th June 2011[/editline]
Here's what I'm using as far as research
[sp]
1981 - Limnask is an isolated scientific community investigating Radiowave mind control through funding from the USSR, Dark Valley X-lab construction begins.
1986 - An experiment causes a spike in energy consumption at CNPP, causing the reactor to meltdown
1988 - Scientists are using the now empty Zone of Exclusion to continue their research, with Limnask remaining populated
1999 - Governmental Official Investigation into the Zone after the USSR dissassembles
2001 - Stories from outside the Zone tell tales of Mysterious creatures and happenings in Pripyat. A tour bus group dissapears and the Ukrainian government blocks up the Zone
2006 - The C-Concious experiment causes a rift in the Noosphere, peverting the Zone into it's current state
2011 - Stalkers begin moving into the Zone, and the first Stalker-Military conflict occurs.
2012 - The events of the current Stalker series[/sp]

You mean how you said you don't have clear sky? What you didn't want me tell you about it because it was in clear sky? I'm confused.
For about a day now I'd been only checking "read new posts"
I thought we were having a s.t.a.l.k.e.r. drought. :smith:
also thorny, It's good to see my obnoxious bold writing telling people to check the [b]REPOSITORY[/b] before asking for mods is still there, And so is the link to [b]s[/b]sgt Doom's mod, that was the first time I used URL tags... Oh the memories...
[QUOTE=famasfanalt;30491929]You mean how you said you don't have clear sky? What you didn't want me tell you about it because it was in clear sky? I'm confused.[/QUOTE]
No I'm already full aware of the events in CS, I just meant that I said I didn't own it and I was researching stuff from it, and was wondering if there was anything the wiki didn't cover that might be helpful. Obviously they've got it pretty downpat.
Aww i feel left out for being left out from the fp stalkers 2011. Oh well should 'ave been more active on the threads i guess.

If Raisk drew it in the thread [b]after[/b] the one it was released in, I probably would've had a higher chance of getting in because I was OP for that thread.
Didn't he said that the's remaking the FP Stalkers picture?

You're in there aren't you?
[QUOTE=famasfanalt;30492214]So why did you ask if I'd read your post?[/QUOTE]
Because I had already stated this, and you should read the previous pages. This is a circular conversation anyways. Moving along, I'm pretty confident I've got the backstory plotted out now.
[editline]16th June 2011[/editline]
also, no one even rated the picture I drew? Waaa.

I was going to be, but I was a 10'er, not to mention I bugged raisk about it for awhile so that might also be part of it. (She did say, by memory... "Screw this, I'm not going to have all these noobs and snorsks in s.t.a.l.k.e.r. bros.) That is where snorsks came from if I'm correct, then in my thread, I said "real s.t.a.l.k.e.r.s. ride snorsks likehorses over the bloop-bloops... which let to the snorsk-mount jokes.

has the updated one been released yet?
Reading through the Anarchy Cell documents (Clear Sky Prototype)
This stuff is amazing, and some of the pictures express the factions excellently.

-Stalkers, the Loners. Watching their back, the stalkers roam the zone on the lookout, prepared and searching eternally for those obscure artifacts.
[img]http://i.imgur.com/FZAEf.png[/img]
The bandits, looking for their next meal, they strike out at their unsuspecting victims and go for the face.
[img]http://i.imgur.com/KXBJu.png[/img]
The Monolith, prowling the Zone and using their brute force and numbers to clear out the stalkers and protect the secrets of the Zone.
[img]http://i.imgur.com/sSz5A.png[/img]
The Military, focused, well posed and ready for action, guarding the Zone eternally from the outside world.
[img]http://i.imgur.com/BO71V.png[/img]
Freedom, looking to the future for oportunities, ready and organized to strike on those unfortunate enough to cross them, they support and rely on the Zone.
[img]http://i.imgur.com/p6wPA.png[/img]
Duty, armed and hunting, Duty is looking to fight the Zone, and prevent it's spread.
And then I saw some awesome artwork of the Catacombs. I'm not sure if this is in CS, but this stuff is [B]amazing.[/B] I'm considering adding it into my story some how.

I was also wondering, if the Zone changes throughout the games, besides the obvious gameplay impacts, perhaps Cordon isn't the only entrance to the Zone. There must be a lot of areas good for stories and gameplay, simply ignored in the games because of time limits and the limits of the games.

If I'm late to a thread I don't really read the last few pages.
Yeah Anarchy Cell is pretty fucking sweet.
