Compensating for the drop is one of the most fun things to do with the AS VAL family.

But then why do other bullets in the game start dropping only after 300 meters? I sometimes miss a headshot from 100 with a modified VSS because the damn bullet drops so early.

It makes them subsonic while still having a significant punch.

I had a better time sniping enemies with an AN-94 with a scope than I ever did with a VSS. They should have at least made them not drop so early.

Poor Bes, his squad was gunned down by army grunts before I managed to get to them. At least I've got his neat AK74U-Custom though!

[QUOTE=Paravin;30727715]I hate the VSS. :v:[/QUOTE] VSS does look rather decent and you can always use it for scouting rather well because of it's semi auto feature which can be utilized for quick kills, but to make it as effective in long distance fighting as any other warsaw pact assault rifle with a scope mount you have to waste a lot of money on modifications. The only advantage that the VSS has is that GSC always stashes it somewhere so the player can get it early on, unlike, for example, the AN-94, which is very hard to get for free unless you don't start killing dutyers or military stalkers.

I like it because it can serve not only as an assault rifle as a sniper. I would use it I went into the Zone. Well, depending on the weight and cost of the bullets.

I much prefer the AS Val over the VSS myself.

The VSS is awesome because it looks awesome and sounds awesome.

I prefer the 9x39 Groza over both but VSS come second.

It is a sniper. Well kinda not really maybe semi-sniper but still. It has the effective range of an assault rifle but it's used more like a sniper.

mercs are cool Well, atleast hogs guys are. sunrise mercsuits are buttugly though And yeah gmod personal skins tend to turn out bad. back to the vintorez val and groza arguement: I myself perfer to use the groza, due to the options of being able to scope and add a silencer. The integrated grenade launcher also helps during heated fights indoors, or with enemy clusters
