i am wondering if i should return to wow. i used to be a hardcore raider during the burning crusader but quit when my guild disbanded. i returned to lich king but wasnt feeling it so i quit. now im thinking about returning back to catalysm but i dont know if i will play it. what i liked about tbc was the difficulty and how hard it was to obtain gear. are epics easily obtainable like in wrath? im a hardcore gamer and i really want the game to be difficult like it was in tbc, which was, hands down, the best expansion ever.

Everyone says Cata is harder than LK, not as hard as TBC though.
I wouldn't really know though, I hit level 80 two weeks before Cata came out. :v:

I decided to make my hunter an Engineer(at 77, purely for the mount later on), couldn't be bothered to go farm the mats myself so I spent 1500-2000g on the auction house instead
Also ran into a complete asshole the other day, he was a druid tank and wouldn't let our healer take mana-breaks because ''it ruins my playtime'', we then told him to leave if he didn't like it to which he replied that we had to kick him so he wouldn't get dungeon deserter, to which we replied no, then he said that he was gonna go afk anyways and sat down, I then told him ''If you go AFK then you wouldn't care about dungeon deserter would you? You're only wasting more of your precious play time being a douche'', then he said ''lol scrubs'' and we moved on to the next boss, tank still sitting down like a tard, we then died, except the healer, while the healer was attempting to run, the tank said ''lol noobs we wiped so now i can leave so fuck you all'', we didn't actually wipe before he left, so that means he still got dungeon deserter right?

its harder than wotlk
easier than TBC
heroics are easier to get into and gear is easier to get than during TBC
Epics are still easy to get (crafting mats etc) but you dont get them from heroics anymore
Heroics are harder than wrath
Raiding is harder than wrath and the playstyle has completely changed. healers dont spam heal anymore, tanks need to actually use cooldowns wisely and dps have alot to do on most of the fights
Its not as highly tuned as it was in TBC though from what ive seen
cataclysm is like a tbc-wrath compromise

I think you stop getting dungeon deserter when you kill the first boss in a dungeon.
Made a horde char yesterday and already ran into a hilarious guy. Troll druid, consistently doing the least damage of us all (except the healer of course) and after I need on a robe that has intellect and spirit boost (armor was better than mine plus the intellect boost) he starts calling me a scrub ninja and all that business. Then when our healer finds out he's specced resto and thus wears intellect/spirit gear, he starts accusing the healer of elitism by going 'ooh, look at me, I have boa gear, I'm better than you'. So after killing Taragaman and Jergosh the Invoker, he all of a sudden goes 'lol, fucking idiots' before leaving.
Honestly, I wish people like that would get perma'd already.
Is cataclysm worth buying? Stopped playing on my 80 hunter because I could never get in any raid/heroic because i had bad gear, How was i supposed to get good gear without being able to run a HC? :(

The fuck are you talking about, there was a dungeon finder and all, besides all you needed was half a brain in most cases. I pugged Trial of the Crusader(or was it champion? The shitty raid anyway), most of our group was in greens. We had no problems.

It varies, really. Sometimes I only bother doing my daily HC. However, there are times at which I play all day, especially if I got nothing better to do. ("All day" as in from when I come home till it's late) Much of this tends to be idling, however.
