So I relog back in a half hour later. "Character not found".

It's not under blizzards control if they're having a technical issue and the satchel isn't meant to be a massive reward.

it seems every time I log out there when I log back in it takes forever to load and crashes multiple times

Okay, no one else has that issue.
My friend persuaded me to get the trial and have my first experience with wow today.
All I have to say is I was blown away. This game is much better than I thought it was going to be.
For ages I have sort of looked down a bit on people who have played wow but finally I understand what they are on about.
I have no doubt I'm getting it when the trial ends.

Huh? Nowadays with the streaming client you can play as soon as the launcher turns yellow. The launcher gets installed by the 100mb or so installer, afaik.

I installed it yesterday (another wow "noob") and it downloaded 3 whole gigs even before the streaming client. After that I think it was 300ish Mb before I could play.
I have to say that it is a fucking big game. I feel sorry for the people in the US and their download caps on their internet.

I should have, but I have not so good internet connection. It's fine to play the game, but it takes forever to download shit. Like right now.
