Merciless is not fun. Probably done with this game for a bit.
Yeah my level 67 shadow just died doing maps. Motherfucker.
Merciless is not fun. Probably done with this game for a bit.
Depends on the character it seems. Obongo is getting slaughtered, and has been since merciless started - but my necromancer pretty much rolls everything even with the disaster that is their current gear :v:
I just can't level up. I'm level 57 or so, and I just keep dying right as I'm about to level again. It's quite frustrating! Half the mobs I come against can just about one-shot me, which is making having to be within melee range rather frustrating! I've got 2.5k health, my resistances are about maxed, and I do over 2k AOE DPS, so I'm just a bit confused about how and why I keep dying so quickly! It's not challenging, it's frustrating. [editline]4th March 2013[/editline] I'll see what this next patch brings. The new skill sounds pretty sweet, and the five or so that are being reworked could open up some viability for skills that suit my playstyle a bit better, but that aren't currently "smart" picks.
The new skill seems like the "Inferno" spell from Diablo, but with a build up of power the longer you cast it. Sounds like it could be part of some interesting builds.
Depending on the numbers and whatnot, I'd definitely like to try and make a tanky Templar build around it. Pretty stoked to see how it works, anyway. [editline]4th March 2013[/editline] I wonder if it'll just have a scaling damage effectiveness, rather than an increasing base damage? Or if maybe the cast rate will just increase to add up to a higher DPS?
The race league chat is funny.
Whenever I go farm Hillock or Vaal for items, I just leave the Global Chat on to add stupid stuff to the collection, I'm on the right way but I need more quotes :v:

I'd recommend joining an exp farming party and just ignoring loot for the time being. Still, you should be way more survivable - I do -alright- on a character with no armour, low resistances, and only 1.3k energy shield (chaos innoculated) :v: I'd grab fire trap and whirling blades if you can, they're both handy for melee characters to deal with groups better/escape certain death
So I open a Large Chest... [t]http://puu.sh/2czqM[/t]
So I open a Large Chest... [t]http://puu.sh/2czqM[/t]
Caramel coffee?
Mmm. Caramel coffee.
annoying I've been running my marauder with a fatass 2 handed axe of death (and have worked my skills through that tree), but now I've found 2 single handed blinders which do nearly the same amount of damage each, so are there any decent AOE gems like Leap Slam or Cleave but for 1 handed claw thing gays
I couldn't decide if I was going to go fire witch or lightning, at first I wanted lightning but I really hate the way the spark spell behaves so eventually I just steamrolled fire, turns out there is two bad-ass lightning spells out there, but I'll have to backtrack like 10 skill points to go lightning instead.
Finally my Lightning Arrow+Lesser Multiple Projectiles+Chain+Weapon Elemental Damage is done, melting packs extremely fast in Merciless.
I picked up the game, having never played an ARPG before. I love it so far. I'm playing ranger and have no idea what I want to build into yet :v: My brother got mad at me for finding 2 chaos orbs within my first 3 hours of gameplay.

RNG, my good man; Nuffle decides what you get and when, and whilst sometimes you might get a whole bunch of blues and amazing orbs, sometimes he'll screw with you and give you all greys for hours. But hey, what do you expect from the God of Dice, even if he's from Blood Bowl?
Does wand physical damage affect your spell damage directly? Or is it only your pure autoattacks that deals additional damage from it(assumed no passive skills that converts damage that is)? Also would a firelightning witch work? I wanna steamroll wand damage, fire damage, lightning damage and shields and then get as much lightning damage onto my fireball as possible.
Wand weapon damage only affects a skill if it requires a weapon and allows wands, Power Siphon is the only one I can think of.
Very well, is there any point in all the "wand damage X" skills then, aside from the small "Converts physical damage to damage x"?

akimbo wand

A magic item can have one prefix and suffix, a rare can have 3 prefixes and 3 suffixes. Because wands come with spell damage - it means they can have more spell damage than any other weapon because they can get their innate spell damage on top of what you can get from prefixes/suffixes. There are other examples of this too - claws get life gain on hit or life leech, daggers get crit chance I believe etc.
I just had a blessed orb drop while I was killing things in the fetid pool at level five.
I just had a blessed orb drop while I was killing things in the fetid pool at level five.
I had two chaos orbs drop during a two person party race last week. (Un)fortunately death brought one of them to default now. (My highest level character is default, rest are HC except for race deaths)
snatched a Mightflay unique dagger for 1 chaos and 1 alch my dps doubled.
Wich levels do you have in hardcore mode ? Im Level 78 at the moment.
Wich levels do you have in hardcore mode ? Im Level 78 at the moment.
78 in hardcore is pretty great. I'm 70 on my highest character at the moment but I'm only playing on normal, I've died so many times because of lag or my computer shitting out that I haven't bothered with hardcore. What kind of character are you playing?

Course, scepters have a higher number of allowable mods, so finding just the right ones can be a little big harder.
