I'd go with elemental weapon damage on hit, at the moment it's way easier to get really high elemental damage than really high physical (though, it's also easier to get elemental damage reduction than physical damage reduction)
For marauder, what's most useful in the long run? Swords, axes, or maces?
I've been avoiding putting points into anything weapon specific for a while now.

Depends on what you want to do, what skills you want to use, etc. For example, if you were doing a stun build there's some really nice stun passives for maces near the marauder starting area.

I've never been too interested in stunning, is it that useful?
As far as skills go I like infernal blow and cleave the most, which are only for swords and axes. I'm wondering if I should go by how good the uniques look.

As far as I can tell most uniques are garbage unless they really specifically work with your build - there are some exceptions to this which are just amazing, like Kaom's Heart (+1000 base life), but in general you can get way higher damage/defences/whatever from an incredible rare. If you like certain skills a lot, definitely pick weapons based around those first. If multiple weapons work with your favourite skills, look at the innate modifiers - a rare weapon can get 3 prefixes and 3 suffixes which AFAIK can all be on every weapon, but the have what's called an "innate modifier" which they get in addition to the random modifiers. Innates are set for each type of weapon, for example daggers/rapiers get crit chance, claws get life gain on hit, swords get accuracy, axes have generally higher dps, maces get stun duration etc.
Stunning can be pretty effective but it's not something you should casually invest in - your build should be somewhat focused for it to be really good, and if you get really good with stunning you can easily stunlock most enemies. 150% reduced stun threshold means you only need to hit for about 3.1% of an enemy's max health to stun them 100% of the time, so with increased stun duration and a bit of attack speed this is devastating.

Yes, the game has been a major target for phishing and account theft.
Also, if you aren't sure about those emails I will verify for you now. Those are fake and phishing scam emails.
Every game has them.
I get E-Mails from Diablo 3 and Guild Wars 2 even though i don't own them.
I guess I should learn never to post my email address in a public forum then. I got quite desperate for a key to the closed beta, which may have been the cause of the emails.

Been well over a month since last post, it seems. The game recently had a big patch, and every character gets an optional full passive wipe, meaning you can reassign the passives fully.
I was thinking of a build for my archer: I currently have max 6 Frenzy charges, and I have Discharge. Can Discharge be used as a good source of damage, especially since I also have Warlord's Mark curse (chance to give endurance charges on kill) or will that just make me lose in DPS due to blowing up my frenzy charges?
Also I'm looking for a Quillspray bow, prefarably one with as many links as possible. I got Explosive Arrow spell and I heard that it has great synergy ith Quillrain. How expensive is the bow? Someone was selling one for 1 chaos, but it was very low lvl and had 2 unlinked sockets, so that felt like overpricing.
I was surprised there wasn't a post earlier about the massive update. The new leagues seem interesting. I've started an Anarchy league character but i haven't seen a rogue exile yet, a bit scared to try onslaught but i'll give it a go soon.
The new league sounds like PvP, except everyone else are AI controlled. I like the new additions they add to this game and wish I could play it more, this is such a fun game in my opinion.
Holy crap, i've been playing on my first character who i had basically abandoned because he was doing terribly and now he is friggin amazing.
I don't know if it is the new patch or i just got a good combination of gear or what but i'm rolling through things. I finally reached cruel mode (I know i'm pretty bad at the game) it's taken me ages and i got there!
I've got a summoning templar build because summoning is my favourite thing in arpgs basically. I've recently changed to leap slam for my main aoe and i've got infernal blow for single target and melee splash glacial hammer for tighter groups. I picked up discipline in cruel mode and it is amazing for summoners, not only is the energy shield buff pretty huge for me, it also makes all my guys so much tougher and less likely to fall.
I'm having loads of fun with this game again. Gonna start an onslaught character and maybe stream it tomorrow sometime.
I play with friends and they all died so my main is sitting on 55.
Guess I should try to get them to play new characters with me again.
Fuck yes, I finally did it.
I salvaged my shadow and turned it into a successful flicker-strike 24/7 crit-hard beast.
Got maligaro's virtuosity, darkray vectors, and a sweet-ass physical damage and crit amulet, for 3-4 chaos each.
Even with my belt, shield, and helment sucking ass, I am still relatively survivable with a 37% chance to dodge at 7 frenzy charges and around 40% chance to evade and a 44% chance to block
48.5% chance to crit with a 458% crit multiplier
tons of damage
only 4-linked flicker strike with multistrike, added accuracy, and melee splash
just need to ramp up 7 frenzy charges, turn on bloodrage, and hold down right mouse button and watch things explode, occasionally use enfeeble or a flask.
so.
fucking.
satisfying.

im level 67 now, and i can easily clear city of sarn including perpetus
all i need now are resists, which i should be able to get from upgrading helmet/belt/shield, since i only have 1/70/48 (fire/lightning/cold) resists lol.
wait how does flickerstrike with multistrike work? Do you teleport three times or just hit three times with a single teleport?
Flicker strike with frenzy charges is incredibly fun when you can support it.
