And willing to help ya since I know how hard EVE Online is to get into it, but I finally learned it actually like a couple days ago. (I went through like 6 trials before this though). Anyways, In the training "mining" missions, when it tells you to go there, Im positive you can ALWAYS mine from that certain part they tell you to go. You just gotta find it. It could be just one rock though since its just for that mission. I had the same problem actually. When you first start playing the game the "overview" doesnt show asteroids on it, so you gotta either click on it on your screen or add them to your "overview" part. To add them to your overview (so when you do your missions, you can easily display any asteroids or "roids" that you cant see, cause you didnt look good enough). Then once you have it on your overview go back to that location, and I bet so much money youll be able to find it all the sudden. Any "roid" will do to add it to your overview. Right click on it (I think) then "add to overview" should be an option. To be honest, its a pretty sick game once you get used to it. I don't really care for "flying games" but I deff. think more games need to come out with the learning curve and just the NUMBER OF FEATURES it has! I really startin to get into Eve a lot and and close to lovin' it!

There is no point in joining EVE if you just want to walk around lol. You are limited to a useless little captain's quarter at the moment. And it still takes fucking ages to do anything even slightly cool.

Would give it another go, but it'd just be the usual 'afk mining rocks for a week until I can get better ships to do some stuff' or whatever.

I am new myself but there is this Corp called the EVE University. They will help you out greatly for free. Providing both financial support and teaching you the ropes. Along with paying for skills books and whatnot. (To some degree) I have yet to apply myself but I intend to do so.

I want to try out EVE. Is it worth to download the trail and stuff? Heard that its damn hard to get into it properly

I have 21 day trials if anyone wants one. The new player experience guide helps out a lot.
