I didn't even have ambient occlusion on. Only get 20fps on a 3.6ghz i7 and a 5870.

looks nice, though my interior framerate is halved and my exterior framerate is... actually it's the same as I usually get in cities

The engine can do all that? But it doesn't look much different. SSAO sort of, but global illumination... can't really see it.

I didn't really bother checking if it all worked together. I'm running a combined SSAO and GI shader with OBGE, and you can see the global illumination quite well when you're running around with a torch (even though it's looks a bit weird on my pc for some reason). SSAO wasn't apparent either when I was playing, I think I'll just enable SSAO and see what happens.
