we shoulda never done what we did on Lashkar, in Insurgency the blufor has to worry about tickets, you lose 1 ticket per death and a few from vehicles being destroyed, so blufor should avoid fighting when possible so as blufor you need to stay on the move and keep looking for caches, you can kill 100 insurgents but it won't matter if you don't get a cache, even without intel you can generally tell where caches may be instead of staying at the FOB where the enemy already knew where we were, we should've been moving far away and towards any possible cache locations, the villages down the road for example

Well that was fun.

I wonder how it would work out if we joined a server that had ~20 people.

Heh I've posted in enough of these threads, so I'll leave it simple: This is a fantastic mod, and I've been playing since 0.4. Unfortunately my main computer is down so I'm no longer playing. [editline]10th May 2011[/editline]
I absolutely despise urban maps on this, I always end up running around for 2 hours only to get shot by an american sniper I can't even see, then it takes a minute to respawn, followed by 2 more hours of being completely incapable of finding anyone.
Either you suck or you are doing something wrong which would mean you suck anyway. Stick with people and shoot the fucking shit out of anything that so much as winks at you
In close quarters and urban environments you need to keep your eyes FUCKING open. Well, I suppose that goes for any map at any time. Just think about where the enemy may be and when you're moving, do so in a fashion that puts something between you and your enemy until the last moment, or gives you the upper hand.
We should have another game, like, today.
fuck. i work all evening/night. sucks. [editline]10th May 2011[/editline] i liked it before the whole 8:00 EST thing because that's when everybody's home from school and everything so there's a mix of good/bad players. i don't mind working with the bad players but i'm just thinking there should be a mix of good/bads. when we were playing yesterday it was more like most of the good players who joined the server first were rushed to blufor while the other players were rushed to insurgents and they had no idea what they were doing
i'm gonna have to re download my client I think. Either that or give up because the computer I'm using for it is shared by my mentally retarded (not really) brother.
Join the MeRk server now you jebends! :D
Are we still going to be switching over to mumble for the next game?
So do Iraqi insurgents not have limits on most of the spawn menu classes? The only thing marked "limited" was the cell leader. I just hope I wasn't wasting shit by spawning as sapper every time.
I play this. I can play a lot tomorrow.
So do Iraqi insurgents not have limits on most of the spawn menu classes? The only thing marked "limited" was the cell leader. None of the insurgent spawnkits or otherwise are limited save for cell leader.
Alright, awesome. Too bad none of them had a Lee Enfield.
Limited spawnkits have "LIMITED" in their name. [editline]10th May 2011[/editline]
Alright, awesome. Too bad none of them had a Lee Enfield.
medic is the only class iirc

[editline]10th May 2011[/editline] medic is the only class iirc
For both things you said, you're thinking Hamas or Taliban, not insurgents. Insurgents do not have any limited kits (besides those that spawn at main) and their medic is an unarmed civilian.
medic is the only class iirc
That's Taliban only. Some maps, you can pick an Enfield up from the weapon spawns.
oh oh oh yeah you're right you got me
This mod is awesome. I've poured so many hours into the game. Haven't played in a while though. I played a lot on the Kokan and Hookers server. Great community there since I ran into a lot of Jerk admins in other ones.
Yeah, every admin will take things personally though. I've found if I just don't talk to the admins unless reporting others, it works out much better in the end.
Joined a 58/64 people server, ran following some random guys all the time, got killed randomly all the time never seeing the enemy even though I've observed everything before I came out of the corners. Made my first kill in about 2 hours, going to play more and see if I'll really like this.
I am boss with a shotgun. A tip for general play is to just get right in there in the thick of it. Sitting back will get you sniped at, but getting right in the enemy's face will let you tear right through them. Sure, you may have some losses and lose tickets, but you will lose less than if you sat back forever and slowly get killed off. Also: don't forget about your damn grenades! They will save your life.
whats a good way to begin playing this game
Play Co-op online. Its basically training.
Play Co-op online. Its basically training.
After you join a regular server, join a squad and just do infantry for a while. [editline]11th May 2011[/editline] Don't forget to let people know what you can or can't do when they request something.
... Don't forget to let people know what you can or can't do when they request something.
This. If the squad leader picks you to be the medic, tell them you don't know jack. Unless your squadmates know, they'll probably be upset when their medic tries reviving them with "resuscitate" and doesn't patch them up with the medic bag after learning it's the epi-pen that does the job. Most players are acceptive and will be happy to help you with anything. Not asking when you don't know is the only bad thing you can do. Have fun!
Everyone is evil on russian servers. :ohdear:
