The first one. I tried the demo or something of the second one, but didn't find it as appealing for some reason.
Is there any way to play this on ubuntu?
I was addicted as shit to Dungeon Siege back in the day.. played it errday for ~2 years.
I know I had at least 100 hrs on DS, b/c a lot of my gameplay was without Xfire.. but the majority of it was singleplayer.
Because as a kid nothing is more rewarding than watching your party relentlessly murder hundreds of krug.
Damn it, I need to find a way to get DS3, that way I can replay DS1 and try the second game.
It's Obsidian.
They do no wrong.
Sure, their games aren't exactly bug free but they always deliver solid narratives.
Even Alpha Protocol, with all its faults, had a solid story.
and I kinda liked it anyway.
The chicken gattling gun was fucking brilliant. Used to play this online all the time. "MY PAPPY..."

Damn right, the chicken gun was my favorite weapon.
Just got this pre-ordered
Now just to hope that the co-op is alright, and it won't be delayed.

Will I miss out on something if I play Dungeon Siege 2 before the first one? It's finished first, you know...
I just wanna know if you can cancel Steam pre-orders if the Euro reviews hit first and it SUCKS... :S

Not sure, It's been a while since I've played, I'd just play the first one first though :v:

I don't think you can cancel them if they give you free stuff along with your preorder ( Dungeon Siege I and II) But if it does suck, then at least you have the first two, which are awesome games.
So I started the first game, and noticed that the menu lagged a bit. I didn't think much of it, but when I got the game started, this was what I got, after that first cutscene:

Any ideas? I'm running Windows 7 x64.
I remember this game. It was one of my favorite ( and probably only ) RPG games I played when I was a wee lad. Of course like any game I played when I was young I would get my hands on cheat codes and exploit the game for tons of money so I could enjoy it without any difficulty. Aside from that it was a great game though, I remember how scared I was of that giant spider boss.

All roleplaying games should have giant spiders

No I'm kidding though, but seriously they're like in every RPG I've ever played.
Going to install it again.
Wish me luck.
Going Nature Mage. Bears ftw.

Not sure, I tried running it in Vista a while back, and it worked fine.
If there's now no way to solve it, will I miss anything if I play the second game, without ever playing the first one?
I hated the giant spider boss, I fucking hate spiders, I leap miles away from the fuckers everyday when I see one.

This could be a possible fix, http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1827560

That did the trick!
If anyone else got the same problem as me, change the dungeonsiege.ini file. Thanks, Spartan.
So, is DS1 supposed to be brutally hard? I remember it being balls easy as a kid, probably because I had a handy printout of cheat codes back when that was fun, but I play it now and everything past the spider boss is just impossible.
If I remember correctly, I was playing a fighter.

Ah yes, I always used that one cheat that gave you a bunch of insanely powerful spells :v:
If I remember corectly the cheat I used when I was a kid was +DRDEATH. Now that was some realy badass cheat.
I always played DS1 without cheats and went through it fine, just saved often and got a healer and some ranged characters to back me up and revise formations and such. If I died, I would reload and take a different approach.

That one leveled everything to level 150 :v:
In the full release, you'll be able to manage a party of up to four heroes, either in a single-player game where you control all four characters, or with a group of three other people in co-op mode. Two players may share the screen locally, and you can bring in two more players online. The other players will serve as assistants to one main player, and no progress will be carried over to their game.

XP will be awarded to characters, but the character in question be be used exclusively for co-operative games, and XP and loot cannot be transferred to a single-player campaign character. Read on for the full details.
:sigh:
I had hoped for a better system than this... Well, I'll have to get a controller, then.
[editline]24th April 2011[/editline]
At least I know for sure that there is local co-op, and I have a friend that I can play with.
You are now reading this in the voice of the krug:
KURR KURR KURRRRRRRRR
Started playing Dungeon Siege again. Goddamn, Gyorn is weak as the Krug!
The demo is out on steam, heres hoping its good!
Preordered it, playing through Dungeon Siege 1 currently!
Dungeon Siege 1 is easily one of my favorite RPGs of all time.
I loved the "epic journey" feel of how you travel through deserts, forests and tundras with your pack mules. :3:
Dungeon Siege 1 was the most epic RPG I've ever played.
