This third one feels completely different. It's epic in story, but more focused in combat. You don't have this huge party, with the formations and party AI. You don't have packmules, which kind of sucks. But the loot system is very different. It is NOT like the first games and other Diablo clones. You can't grind for random loot. Some enemies do respawn, so you can fight over and over for experience and loot, but there's no real point to doing that in this game. So far, all the best loot is available at certain points in the game, you won't get an awesome unique random drop from grinding. On the plus side, the loot system is more flexible than before. This is because you should pick the item you want to equip based on your playstyle. For example, I'm playing Lucas, melee. When I fight some boss that can knock my hit points down in one or two hits, I equip +Stamina gear, since that boosts my hitpoints. The +Stamina gear may not be the most rare, or most valuable, gear I'm carrying but that doesn't matter because it fits my gameplay style, so it is useful. In other games there is usually only one or two 'best' swords, best armor, etc no matter how you play the character.

Especially the first and second paragraphs. I wasn't planning to get the game either way because of it's more action focused gameplay and almost JRPGish artstyle, but now I'm absolutely certain that I won't touch it.
I think it's a lot fun, especially the combat since you have to use tactics. You can't just rush in and left click like crazy. But it IS different from the first DS games. If you were looking for more of the same then this game isn't for you. Some people compare it more to Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance than to Diablo 2, I think that's accurate.
Don't know what everyone is griping about. I'm enjoying the fuck out of this game.
I haven't had a chance to play it yet, I passed out 30 minutes before it came out yesterday, and I'm too busy today, I'll update with my opinions once I play it :v:
Cancelled my pre-order and got Call of Juarez: the Cartel instead. [editline]22nd June 2011[/editline] And I'm happy with that.
On PC I just saw something in the manual: If you press the left control key you'll automatically pick up gold. The funny thing is all this time Anjali has been mostly beating me to the piles of gold before I could click my character over to them. Now she isn't going to get jack shit.
How do you activate these save points? Or do they auto save.
Stand in the light and press E on the keyboard, or probably the button that opens chests on the console versions.
Any decent LP? I heard keyboard/mouse controls are horrible. [editline]22nd June 2011[/editline] For DS3 that is
ds3 is fucking disapointing I am mad
Its a disappointing Dungeon Siege game, but I find it to be a decent RPG, currently at the East Forest part and I'm playing as Reinhart.
So anyone who has played Dungeon Siege 3, is it any good? Like even though from looking up videos the combat looks like JRPG style, is the game hard or does combat require thinking and tactics or is it just that you click and kill everyone. In terms of story, is the story any good/amazing, like to obsidians standards from anyone who has played Kotor 2, am I getting a well written epic story. And one last thing, in terms of dialogue I saw that the game uses a Mass Effect like mouse wheel, is it like Mass Effect where you click one option and Shepard says it a completely different way that makes no sense considering the option you chose or does the guy who you play as in here say it in a way that it makes sense considering what I chose. Thanks
