Level 9999 (reincarnated at least 4-5 times over) Superdimensionman represent. Has enough movement spaces to rush through nearly any item world.
best scene in the whole game!!!!
I used Item World to level everybody up.
Same, until I found out that some maps change just to give you flat out free levels, In D3, one of the challange maps has a grid of guys standing in a 3 x 3 square, had Adell (DLC) use one of the fist skills he'd wipe all of them out in one go, and seeing how they were all level 500 or sooo I just kept passing "Make my enemies stronger" bills.
best scene in the whole game!!!!
Amusingly in D2 [sp]One of the bonus missions lets you change Adells title to Prisim Black, apparently Red went on craigslist or whatever and found a ton of losers like him and made a new team[/sp] and D3 [sp]All of them left him the other day, so he just resorted to painting monsters various colors, he even joins you if you beat the shit out of him[/sp]
best scene in the whole game!!!!
First I was all 'If this isn't the prism rangers scene I'mma be pissed.' Then I was all 'FUCK YEAR'
One of the best JRPG's out there. And with that i mean one of the only good JRPG's out there.
I love this series more than a human should love a series.
One of my favourite RPG series, looking forward to Disgaea 4.
I just got Disgaea 3 a few weeks ago. I'm glad to finally be playing an RPG with good gameplay as well as good voiceovers.
Wait, a jrpg with good dubs? brbgamestop
Wait, a jrpg with good dubs? brbgamestop
I know right, that just blew my mind when i began playing this.
Oh man, so just found out that the UI interface for Disgaea 4 supports levels up to 99,999 What the actual fuck Nippon Ichi, What the fuck Also I think I'm the only one who really likes Laharl's theme song, no idea why but it's really fucking catchy to me. Also For those somewhat curious about what makes the game so amusing is, if you're in a pinch you can usually grab a cell phone and call in a NPC helper, and in some dramatic cases it could even be a defender of earth... who died and became a penguin. Who will only help so you can learn how to defend yourself, While blaring this song A penguin saves you to this music. Think about it
Level 99,999 and reincarnating? Holy crap there goes my life FOREVER Also in D1 I have a full prinny squad led by Kurtis. I haven't gotten around to getting them to prinny god status though, should totally do that sometime. Like now perhaps
Level 99999? Are you fucking kidding me? Level 99999 only Online matches in Disgaea 4? Why am i worried that such matches would kill off the servers every single time?

Seriously though i hope they let you use your singleplayer characters and stuff in multiplayer. Though it should probably be like an option to do that, and an option to not do that.
triple screen length damage values anyone?
triple screen length damage values anyone?
A must have.
Oh man, so just found out that the UI interface for Disgaea 4 supports levels up to 99,999
the fuck. Talk about overkill.
It supports it, not sure if it actually allows you to go that high though, also starting at D3, when you do hundreds of thousands of damage it just shortens it to 390K with TOTAL DAMAGE DONE showing you how much damage you already did (Shortening it for billions etc)
Gameplay videos for Disgaea 4 are amazing. Also [sp]Agasi appears once more, but in her Disgaea 3/2 Appearance, as in she is still pixelated while everyone else has the brand new HD sprites. From what I gathered from her recruitment to your team, she is still upset over not having Makai Wars out yet, and Laharl and Flonne convince her to join the Team, as she(and them) are tired of fighting each other each iteration.[/sp] I THINK, I only understand a tiny bit of Japanese.

I just got Disgaea on Nintendo DS, and I've got two questions 1. How do I level up my Cleric? I keep healing teammates but it doesn't look like she's gaining any XP. 2. When you create a character and you have to choose their skill level (Incompetent, Average, Genius etc), can you increase this level/rank? Because it's kind of a disadvantage if I create an Incompetent Character at the start and then create an Average Character later.
I played and beat the story of D3. Stopped there. I should really get back to grinding so I can play the bonus DLC.

Clerics are fucking weird in Disgaea 1, honestly give them a bow if you want to use one as they only get exp from killing, once the cleric has enough mana from that have him/her create a skull or witch of your choice. If he/she stands by the character you created from his/her mana, that character will begin learning the skills his or her pupil will know Cleric creates a ice mage with it's mana, stands by mage, cleric will be able to use level 0 ice, once you use it enough to make it level 1 your cleric now knows ice magic for the rest of it's life. as a example, you can make it so laharl learns healing magic even. (if memory serves anyway) 2. Don't worry if you start with incompetent characters, when they get enough mana if you want reincarnate them, they'll keep about 15% of total stats and return to level 1, and you'll be able to choose what kind of bonus rating you want for them as well as evolve them up their evolution line. (Like once you reach level 20 with warriors, you'll unlock gladiators and such, reincarnate as one, catch him back up and watch as it does nearly twice as much damage)
Sorry for the 3 week bump but Disgaea 4's first English trailer was released. I'm amused by the powerthirst approach to it. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/116/1168364p1.html I'll switch it to a youtube tag when I can but for now only one I could find. Also found my copy of disgaea 3, I forgot how fucking fast it was, rocketing characters to level 5000 in moments is amazingly addicting for some reason.
I loved this game to no end. I swear I leveled my characters to 5,000 - 7,000 before I stopped.
Level 99999 holy fucking jesus christ on a motorcycle, is this game really that exaggerated? [editline]14th May 2011[/editline] that trailer pours tons of badassery and charm, i want to give them all my money.

Hope it gives you a bit of a idea of things that the game does to you. Best part? When you beat the game you get a chance to recruit things this strong, create items that skip you from level 1 -> 2000 in a single minute, and then some, the game really does let you customize a TON of your shit.
Jesus H-Christ the stats are going to be overlapping the Profile Picture soon enough.
Most amusing part, is knowing that with enough work, you can kill this in a single blow, or make it so it does 0's to you, the games all about returning all the effort you wanna put into it :v: .
Just bought games 1-3 on ebay, new. I hope it was worth the $75 CAD I paid.
It will be one of the best purchases you have ever made. I mean it's like Final Fantasy Tactics but much better and faster paced.
