That's true, in comparison to having your work blown to smitheroons having shit stolen is a minor annoyance.

I agree with most of those, but i can see people using a single block on the top of a chest and say you can't steal it.

I think it would be better if it was just survival.
I dunno, I think keeping the server as just survival would be better than having it split up.

[/LIST][/QUOTE]2b2t is great fun, but if you want to play that, play 2b2t. The no holds barred, free for all is awesome in that environment, but isn't so great for a drama free community.
PS:This is just my opinion, I'm not trying to speak for everyone.
Also, PVP in towns
Maybe add on the rules of stealing shit.
For example:
No breaking peoples blocks to gain entry to their buildings, nor mining under it in case the floor is dirt.
If the only way to gain entry to a home is by some redstone lock, you'll have to pick it by figuring out how it works.
Too many rules is not going to work either tho.
I like the idea of having a couple of main areas/cities creative/non-pvp, but the routes between the cities (and the rest of the map) as pure survival.
People have the option of staying in the city to build nice things, or venturing out into more dangerous territory.
100% survival of the fittest please
i say split the world into three parts, either multiworld or single:
-pure survival: the only safe zones are the biggest towns, anything goes, monsters, for people who want to fight the elements and others
-co-op survival: monsters, more rules against stealing and such, a few protection addons, for people who want to work with others, but still have the challenge mobs and such gives
-creative: no monsters, more protection addons, for people who like to build with others without fear of getting their shit wrecked

As much as I like the idea, it's going to demand a lot of power from the server, which in return would cost a lot.
I say we do the ol' song and dance with Major cities being theft free and outside the city limits your shit gon' get jacked.

It should be a multiworld setup. Creative world run by john, survival world run by you.
Stealing should be allowed if the chest is visible.

Seriously, splitting the world into 3 parts will be really dumb in my opinion, especially since the will have only 20 slots. It just seems dumb to me.
Also how exactly would you guys enforce the no breaking slots to get to a chest thing?
Keeping as close to vanilla is key, but adding useful features that work in the background. Theres nothing I hate more then joining a server and having a million commands pop up and allow me to do ridiculous silly things.
My suggestion is, don't clusterfuck it with plugins please.

Agree, keep it simple, and I might donate quite a bit for a nice server.
If splitting the world up into creative and survival sections doesn't work out, I'd rather have one nice survival server.
I think that basic survival with the odd plugin or mod would appeal to the majority of people, while splitting up the playerbase would probably do just that. I also think that it should have pvp, but just in the "wild" areas (outside of towns) so that people won't be killing eachother on the streets. The random events idea you brought up also would help mix things up a bit.

I didn't know people still used Photobucket in 2011.
Anyway, for the server to catch on you'll need something unique; something out of the ordinary. This doesn't mean stuffing the server with every other plugin in the Bukkit database.
I'm not saying your idea is shit or anything, I'm just simply reminding.
Only plugin I need: BOSEconomy or Iconomy.
Please make it happen.
