It can be a bit dull in the beginning. But it gets better, And then you can import your save into the more fast paced Mass Effect 2. It's worth it Also: Damn low post thread lock. I wondered where the thread had gone. At this speed we will run out of title ideas in a month or two :v:
Never use it. Playing an adept on insanity is SUICIDE without biotic shield as your bonus power.
Reave heals you, basically giving the same effect as barrier, and is something that can do damage even at low health, and incapacitates an enemy. A barrier just makes it so you can get a few more shots off before having to go back into cover. Reave lets you do something productive and tactical, even at low health.

Adept with energy drain can be usefull, it acts as a anti shield meassure, while you got warp for armor and barriers then biotic the fuck out of the rest.
Reposting 'cause people will have missed it: [release]To anyone who thinks Hale voices Shepard better than Meer: Sheploo Femshep (skip to about the 5 minute mark as the video suggests) I'm sorry, but I really don't understand what people mean when they say that Hale has more emotion in her voice. She sounds fucking bored throughout the entire video. Her "keep it up and you'll leave in a bag," and, "I'll cut your balls off and sell them to a Krogan," lines carry absolutely no weight whatsoever. They come nowhere near close to the delivery of Meer's version of the lines.[/release]
No her voice is so much better because femshep is my waifu~!! I play Bioware games for their romance it's so deep!

I always thought femshep sounds better as Paragon and maleshep better as renegade. I find it difficult to play mean characters in games, so I always play femshep. Plus, you can't bone Kaidan as maleshep. HEY GET OUT OF HERE YOU SILLY RAINBOW

Oh Shepard, you and your walking on water. And your twelve party members. And your coming back to life thing.
That's why Jenkins saying "Oh god, what happened here", only he knew who is Shepard.
fuck, took the mako into the council meeting and the game crashed.
Just spent three fucking hours in the Mass Effect wikia. GOD DAMN IT.
Okay so I started up another game in ME and I got to Benezia's fight by the Rachni queen and every damn time the dialogue finishes I end up noclipping through the walls flying further and further from the level unable to do anything. Loaded the save like fifteen times now and it's still not working, it never did that on my first playthrough, anyone able to give me any pointers?

So Planet Scanning made it to the list of "Terrible ideas from great developers".
With Mass Effect, BioWare broke new ground by demonstrating to gamers that action RPGs could be just as fast-paced as regular shooters or adventure games. Then Mass Effect 2 came out, and the studio broke new ground again by demonstrating that fast pacing is a silly idea, lumping gamers with a time consuming and apocalyptically boring planet scanning mini-game. And I'm using the term 'mini-game' very, very loosely. Usually this isn't something that I'd be annoyed about, because more often than not, lame mini-games are easily avoided. And the same goes for planet scanning, but gamers who decide that they don't want to launch probes for hours on end are subject to horrible consequences. If you don't spend the resources gathered from planet scanning on costly ship upgrades, the final mission turns into a train wreck, and about half of Shepard's squad dies before it even begins. The crafty folk at BioWare gave us a choice: spend half your time collecting minerals and in turn have a happy ending, or focus on having fun using psychic powers to blast robots into oblivion and end the game in tears over Garrus' death. As you can probably tell, I chose the latter.

Except you get almost all, if not all of the minerals you need from boxes on missions. If you want to have all the fancy upgrades for weapon dmg and armour then you'll have to deal with it and scan planets but otherwise it's not really neccessary to spend more than 15 minutes in total on it.
