Your example was from ME1, where he simply says that you should have let him die instead of Ashley.
As for that quote? It's not gay, it shows close attachment, you can love your friends like a brother or like a part of you, and it doesn't have to be gay.

I was just saying IF Kaidan becomes a romance option for male sheps, that dialogue would seem to work in it's favour.

Only romance I can see going 'bi' is Jack, and even that would be a stretch. Just add in a well written, strong gay character(s). The hell does the only option for homosexuals have to be available through some poorly written ambiguous DA2 romance?

Having all the character written as bisexuals is lazy, that sort of ambiguity should be left for the PC not the companions. A well written and rounded character should have a sexuality written into their background.
There isn't anything wrong with bisexuality, but the characters aren't written as bisexuals they're written as Hawke-sexual or in this case Shepard-sexual. That I have a problem with. The only characters that were well written bisexuals in recent Bioware games were Zevran and Isabela. The others were obviously shoehorned into the ambiguous orientation to appease the fanbase. Even if they somehow managed to re-write every character extremely well as a bisexual, it would still be extremely disingenuous. Makes the game seem comical.
But Bisexuality is a real thing people have. I am bisexual as is my boyfriend and several other people I know.

I'm not arguing that bisexuality isn't real. I'm arguing that having a whole cast of randomly thrown together experts in various fields of military proficiencies all be bisexual is silly as shit, and it's just to pander to the masses of Bioware fans who want to fuck everything they see. I'm asexual, having a crew full of asexuals would be just as fucking silly, it's not how people are. There are some people who are strictly straight and there are some that are strictly homosexual.

I hate the architecture in ME1 so much. Noveria is ugly as shit, and there are literally only 2, maybe 3 different designs for the uncharted worlds, either the mine or the base with the 2 rooms in the back that split off. And then all the freighters look the same too.

Only acceptable bisexuals are as follows: Mordin Solus (Makes advancements on both genders, still overall poor candidate for LI status), Liara (Duh), Tali (Also makes initial advancements on both genders).

On a different note: Is the firepower pack worth the money? That shotgun and pistol are mighty tempting, but I love my Revenant too much to give it up for the Mattock.
Which pistol is in the firepower pack? The one with the laser sight? If yes, then definitely get it.
Once I got that pistol, I never used any of the other ones again. It's fucking good, and the laser sight is kickin' rad. It's also cool how the sight moves around slightly when you stand still, showing that Shepard's hands are shaking (not a lot, just the natural amount when holding up a firearm). It's a neat little touch.
The shotgun, is that good? I partially want it for a vanguard playthrough, partially to give it to Tali for a bitter twist of irony.
