How about we kidnap you and lock you up where no one can find you. Then we preform brutal experiments on you such as using battery acid as a skin lotion, injecting- let's call it "experimental body performance enhancer" and so on just to see what happens.
Then we lock you in another room along with a wild animal or two and see how long you can hold out.
After that we dump you onto a planet you've never been in before when the session's finished.
If that doesn't make us bad then... Well...
One human out of the billions suffers so that the rest may enjoy the benefits reaped. One shortcut around ethical bounds to advance civilisation decades. One group who they can give all this blame to while everyone takes what it offers. Ethics holds us back from the abyss, but if we can retrieve something valuable from it, to cross it, within bounds of course, for the greater good, what is stopping us?
Justify it however you want, they are helping. Hate them if you wish, that is what you are meant to do, but do not think what they provide isn't worth the cost.

cerberus isn't exactly giving these people a choice to sacrifice themselves out of free will.
so I guess, you start to give a crap about all other humans once you're in a cerberus medical lab, strapped down to an operating table.

Relatively negligible loss of life compared to years of technological advancement.
Yeaaaa gonna go with Cerberus on this one. Look, Humanity needs every bit of help it can to become a serious force in the Galaxy, at least Cerberus understands someone's hands will have to get dirty to do it.

we've already seen where zero morality leads to.

Doesn't really compare since they were intending on killing the subjects in the first place, the only reason people die in Cerberus tests is because the Cells are idiots.
okay, tell me what useful information if at all was gathered from the experiments of cerberus?
[editline]1st July 2011[/editline]
probably a silly question, because no one knows yet what's going to happen in ME3.
okay, tell me what useful information if at all was gathered from the experiments of cerberus?
The Normandy SR-1 was created partially by Cerberus backing and tech, while the Ascension Project for Human Biotics was made possible by the data collected by the cell on Pragia. Then there was the development of a non-genocidal Artificial Intelligence, EDI, using Reaper technology. Finally, I can probably guarantee the Lazarus Project had some pretty horrifying hiccups before it was perfected for Shepard (TIM even says that some people would call it going "too far.")
If we're not talking about purely scientific ventures, Cerberus has saved Citadel Space at least twice (Saving Shepard, and Jacob/Miranda stopping a bio-attack on the Citadel.)
well those are good arguments, probably it will equal out the crimes once shepard saved the whole galaxy, but until then they are just criminals. the alliance did nothing to bring you back from the dead, TIM sure has a vision and honestly I would like the idea of working exclusively for the bad guys.

The SR-1 was designed by the Alliance and the Turians. The SR-2 was a bloated cruise ship version designed by Cerberus using likely stolen schematics of the original.
I liked the larger version.
The SR-1 was designed by the Alliance and the Turians. The SR-2 was a bloated cruise ship version designed by Cerberus using likely stolen schematics of the original.

When asked how Cerberus could obtain the schematics and data necessary to reconstruct a highly advanced, classified Alliance ship, the AI EDI reports that information is blocked (meaning she cannot reveal it to Shepard). However, after EDI's integration with the Normandy, the blocks are removed, revealing that Cerberus initially persuaded and backed the Alliance in co-developing the Normandy SR-1 with the turians, allowing humans to observe turian technologies and warship design practices.
If Cerberus wasn't present the Normandy would've never been built.
ME1 Importer it says. Might be Shiala, still being force by the Thorians old dominance?
I always thought it was that bitch who was on Virmire and then again on the mission where you get Grunt. Squaddies even comment that it was probably a mistake.
I still don't like Cerberus' "Human Superiority" mindset. Aliens are cool.

It could be the Rachni queen, I hope not though.

This just reminds me of that "We are born too late to discover anything on Earth, and born too early to discover anything in Space" pic :smith:

Cerberus don't hate aliens, they just think humans are better.
And tbh in the mass effect universe they generally are.
... what about the Reapers?
Ah yes, "Reapers"...
So you're borderline Mercenary. S'alright, you go where the money pours from. I just don't care much for liars, and Cerberus is deliciously full of them.

May not be evil to you, but I certainly don't want to join a group I don't want to be a part of. It's like having only one seat left at a table at lunch time, and it's next to the guy who makes your life hell.
Borg aren't evil. To them, they're not doing anything wrong, what they're doing is right(to them)

Got this on my travels.
would anyone else find it silly if they are truly bad and their killing spree has no higher meaning?
Some machines...
Some machines just want to watch the world burn.

So this is slightly off topic, but Knights of the Old Republic is on sale on Steam. Should I get it, being a big fan of Mass Effect?

Turn based combat. That is all.
Turn based combat. That is all.
Yeah, I hated that.
Turn based combat. That is all.
That's the only thing putting me off
Turn based combat is quite enjoyable if you build your character right, It actually makes the game quite addicting half way through when your slashing through everything with your party.
Yeah, I hated that.
I turn off all the auto-pause settings. It didn't bother me.
I seem to remember it not liking Vista. It was a pain to get working last time I tried.
I turn off all the auto-pause settings. It didn't bother me.
I hated not being able to shoot them myself, it was all "lol shoot this guy a few times and then switch over to the other guy".

Yes, you should. It's amazing. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who would even remotely like RPGs.
The story is awesome, the characters are awesome, and the music is awesome. The gameplay is fairly good too. It doesn't support widescreen though, but it should run fine on Windows 7.

I thought that was KOTOR2. But it has a Vista patch that has worked for me, so it shouldn't be that hard to get it working.
[editline]...[/editline]
And it is also highly moddable, so it's good for multiple playthroughs without it getting too boring, as well.
