Headshotting YMIR mechs are the best. I think I might do one more play-through as soldier, then try one as an engineer with dominate.

Every time I head shot them, they don't explode into a nuke. Could it be because I use inferno ammo?
I love that 3 people can tear through legions of soldiers.

Well the only thing I can think of is not that you're using inferno ammo, but the headshot is not killing it, instead it's the damage from the fire instead, try doing it when it's got lower health or try a different ammo.

Actually I'm going to stick with soldier, I love AR too much.

You might need to use disruptor ammo. Or like shatteredwindow said it's not the shot that kills them but the fire damage

Make sure you're using a sniper rifle; preferably the mantis or widow (for their high dmg/shot), so you can be sure the initial hit gets the kill. I don't think your ammo power is the problem, since synthetics take greatly reduced damage from incendiary ammo.

I want one!
Hey guys, what class should I be in KOTOR?
Soldier, then Guardian. And definitely play as a good guy, it's canon, feels better and there is this crystal which gives light side HUGE bonus in damage. Those two classes make you more lightsaber oriented and as a light sided guy dark side powers cost much more Force.
The wording sort of implies that death was an intended outcome to their confrontation and said opportunity was missed, rather than death simply being a possibility that existed.
I think it's probably Balak or someone like that.

I don't think you totally understand the concept of evolution.
There is no 'end goal' in sight for a species. Evolution never really stops, and you can't be 'more evolved' than another species. Evolution isn't some quantifiable substance. A successfully evolved species allows for it to survive; to remain alive for as long as is physically possible. Walking upright, being bipedal, having less/more body hair than another species does not constitute being 'more evolved'.
I am fully aware that evolution never stops.
Yes you can be more evolved than another species us Mammals for example have the ability to use areas of the brain that control emotion & cognitive thought. Weve had far more recent mutations than many animals who have remained the same for years. Great white sharks have been around for about 16 million years? little has changed about them. Humans on the other hand had more mutations in the period of a few thousand years. We are evolving faster. Were not the greatest fighters without weapons (but we evolved so far that we can create ones that can destroy the entire world) and perhaps not the smartest but we sure as hell acomplished what no other intelligent life can ever acomplish. Thats not all though, body phenotype plays a huge role in evolution and it decides who will be on top not just brain power. It played a huge role with us and judging by the Aliens in Mass Effect it played a huge role for them too. I never said there was an end game, but its clear some of the species in this game were evolving very similiar to us. Its a trend for writers to potray intelligent life as being human-like. The odds of them actualy turning out to be anything similiar to humans would be 82382382383230932 to 1.
You misunderstand: you CANNOT be 'more evolved' because the phrase itself suggests that evolution is both some quantifiable quantity (redundant statements FTW) and that there is some distinct 'beginning' and 'end'.
'More' or 'less' are terms you use in relation to quantities that you can attribute some numerical value to. You cannot do this with evolution.

I ended up going scoundrel because I read that's the class that's good at persuasion and talking and stuff. Am I gonna have trouble if I use ranged weapons then switch to a lightsaber when I become a jedi?
Yes you can be more evolved than another species us Mammals for example have the ability to use areas of the brain that control emotion & cognitive thought.
'More evolved' only makes sense in the context of a particular adaptation. We are only 'more evolved' in situations where cognitive thought is a clear advantage, and even then it's a crude way of putting it. A vorcha might argue that it is more evolved than a human because it can regenerate from injuries or rapidy adapt to hostile environments; qualities that would be a huge advantage in the right context.
Weve had far more recent mutations than many animals who have remained the same for years. Great white sharks have been around for about 16 million years? little has changed about them. Sharks have remained the same for so long because there's been no selection pressure to force them to evolve; they're an apex predator with few natural enemies, and therefore no real need to adapt. On the flip side, bacteria and viruses have an enormous birth rate and many selection pressures (antibiotics, disease resistant hosts, improved hygiene making transmission harder etc), which is why we keep encountering new strains and variants every few years.
How exactly have humans evolved in the last few thousand years?

I'm pretty sure most of ME's aliens are human-like because it's easier for the developers to animate and build around one type of body skeleton. That, and the fact that because we're inherently biased towards our own species in real life, we're more willing to relate to and empathise with characters that share similar characteristics to us. It's unlikely that evolution was really a big consideration in the developers' minds when they laid down the basic designs for their races.
What i meant by "more" is intellect or cellular advancement but ofcourse every species is perfectly evolved for their specific habitat. Some species would be better than us in specific fields and vice versa. I just pointed out how implausible it is for every single alien to miracuously evolve like a humanoid, to go through so much extensive evolution just to stop and still look closer to their animals than a unique distinct new species such as Homo sapiens. This is a game though, writers do it so we can connect with the characters more than something that looks like a Xenomorph. I guess we just look at it as a "what if" Reptiles or Squids were dominant and leave it at that without reading into to deeply.
On Mass Effect 2, is it possible to create a Shepard thats not ugly? ive been sitting here for about 15 minutes and my Shepard still sucks. I'd rather go with default Shepard honestly i hope they make the character creation more indepth in 3. They always come out looking the same no matter how different i make my Shepard espeacialy male Shepards.
Edit: Snipe i fully agree with everything you stated. Last i read weve had about 2,000 or more recent mutations. That includes things as little as eye color or the ability to digest milk.

Making a non-ugly Shepard is a nightmare. I usually make small modifications to the default, like hair and eye colour, and leave it at that. Femshep with black hair and heavy eyeshadow looks terrifying, especially if you go for a full set of renegade scars. Alternatively, there's always http://www.masseffect2faces.com/index.php
On human mutations; Hmm, interesting. Something I need to look into, it seems.

Appreciate the link will definately use it as a guide. The problem is there is too little depth. Too little hairstyles, too little variety in general. You can only congifure Shepards face to an extent. You can't for example make his head longer like the default shep. I also can't believe they didn't make it an option to make Shepard's default cut yours. Its so much better than the one they give us.
I try to make my Shepard a Caucasian male and he always comes out Mexican.

The ability to digest milk isn't from evolution, all mammals can digest milk when they are young but the body loses it's ability to clot the milk and digest it as they grow older, this ability is only retained by those who drink milk constantly. Which is why people in areas where they don't drink milk such as India have huge numbers of lactose intollerance, because all mammals are naturally lactose intolerant.
Also, don't feed your cat milk you'll just make them sick.

Why are they stereotyped as loving it then?

Apparently we whities couldn't digest it a few thousand years ago.

If you never gave your child milk they wouldn't be able to drink it at all even now. That gene only allows you to keep drinking milk.

Right but without that DNA change that group of people wouldn't be able to as adults either. A similiar change was found in East Africans. Meh i was weird, milk made me sick as a child. I was able to tolerate more older. Why the fuck are we talking about milk.
They do love it, that doesn't make it good for them.
I recently discovered you weren't supposed to give dogs cooked bones.....oops. I thought the little bastards could eat anything.
