I am fully aware that evolution never stops. Yes you can be more evolved than another species us Mammals for example have the ability to use areas of the brain that control emotion & cognitive thought. Weve had far more recent mutations than many animals who have remained the same for years. Great white sharks have been around for about 16 million years? little has changed about them. Humans on the other hand had more mutations in the period of a few thousand years. We are evolving faster. Were not the greatest fighters without weapons (but we evolved so far that we can create ones that can destroy the entire world) and perhaps not the smartest but we sure as hell acomplished what no other intelligent life can ever acomplish. Thats not all though, body phenotype plays a huge role in evolution and it decides who will be on top not just brain power. It played a huge role with us and judging by the Aliens in Mass Effect it played a huge role for them too. I never said there was an end game, but its clear some of the species in this game were evolving very similiar to us. Its a trend for writers to potray intelligent life as being human-like. The odds of them actualy turning out to be anything similiar to humans would be 82382382383230932 to 1.
Are you the same person that posted all that bull in the evolution thread in General too, cause your interesting thesis is completely full of crap. Cats, Dog, Monkeys, various Dolphin species and Corvids all have abstract cognition and the ability to interpret based on past reasoning experience (and Corvids don't even have a cerebellum). What separates Humans from them is the AMOUNT of correlative cognition and the level of complexity in said abstractions. Nothing more. As a new species, saying Humans evolve faster than Sharks is also complete crap cause we haven't been around since the days of dinosaurs, and there's exactly zero comparative data.
Is it just me or is the lighting in the character creator different to in-game lighting? Like whenever I try to make a custom Shepard, they are either like paper white, or like Crylawsis said Mexican. Also I wish their was a way to get some middle ground of scars in me2. I'm paragon but I still want some kind of scars, like just some of the marks without glowing, and I don't like the full renegade scars, especially the eyes.
I still like my stupid looking big chinned Shepard. :colbert:
Just bought this firepower DLC. Jeezus Priest, how could I play with out the Mattock??
The Phalanx is my most favorite weapon in the Firepower Pack. Powerful and nicely designed. And the laser sight is a nice touch.
This discussion just reminded me: Mordin says that humans are the most genetically varied of the major species in the galaxy. Shouldn't that be the salarians? Seeing how their metabolism is faster and they live shorter lives.

It could always be that in addition with their genetic material not being as complex and not carrying the same amount of genes/information, I suppose.
Salarians getting together and bukake-ing on a mass of eggs. I do not want to see that

It is awesome, fuck da haters.
But, to them, it's like a business meeting, so they'd probably jizz over eggs whilst wearing suits and discussing things like recent politics in a totally calm and civilized way.
"looks like you could use some help there"

Humans are NOT genetically diverse even compared to most species on our own damn planet, infact compared to most animals we're practically clones of each other. No way we'd be the most genetically diverse species to go to space.

I haven't heard many people that disliked Robin Sachs' voice acting. Your template is shitty.
I haven't heard many people that disliked Robin Sachs' voice acting. Your template is shitty.
Robin Sachs is a great voice actor.
Hey, here's one. Try to make a short speech a Reaper would say. From what I've seen from some of you, you will not disappoint.

This game is about how humans are the best ____ ever and how the galaxy would be totally pwned without them, and it always has been.
In a lot of sci-fi lately, humans are the bad guys. It's kind of a downer. I wanted to make something where humanity was awesome, and they were the good guys who saved the day.
I took my time through Mordin's loyalty mission and it was actually pretty touching.
I took my time through Mordin's loyalty mission and it was actually pretty touching.
[sp]No. Not a murderer...[/sp]
Everything about Mordin's loyalty mission was sad. [sp]Especially the part when Shepherd and Mordin discover the dead body of a Krogan women who willfully let her use herself as an experiment.[/sp]

The rest of the game he acts so sure everything is for the greater good, but here you actually see past that.[/sp]
The loyalty missions are all pretty touching. Except maybe for Zaeed's, but that's just because he's Zaeed. Thane's was the best imo, the ME1 fanatics in particular can't complain at all because there is no combat whatsoever. I'd say it was the most loyal (heh) mission in terms of RPG elements. Oh, and the "Mission Complete" music couldn't come at a better time in Thane's mission. Seriously, it was so fitting.
Cant wait till the new Mass Effect book comes out
