the thing is I'm getting worked up how one character can get so much attention by both fanbase and devs. what makes her more important than the other characters?
the people on bw social get up in my face about her all the time and it's almost impossible to have a normal conversation with them, they always bring up Tali someway and how she's awesome and how she makes Mass Effect.

It's a big thing to unmask someone who's not been seen before, and they don't want to fuck it up. It can kill a character if the devs fuck up the unmasking.

The BSN boards are like that, they're ridiculous. It's either militant gays pulling for everyone to be gay in the games, homophobes, fanboys & girls, or just plain idiots who have no desire in having a discussion and just want to post for the fuck of it.
The reason Tali gets so much attention is because so many dudes like her, /v/ used to be filled with 'waifu' posts for a couple months after ME2 was released. They still creep up every now and again, it's the fanbase that wants a shitload of Tali and they're complaining about it enough for Bioware to do something about it (implying that you have to complain very much to get Bioware to do something, pfffffftchhchhchch). I actually enjoy Tali as a character, she is a sweet girl who is just trying to help, she is as neutral good as neutral good gets. Her fans are just annoying as shit, even more so than the other annoying fans.

The whole point of her character and Quarians is that you like them and judge them for who they are, not what they look like underneath the suit nor mask. You're completely missing the point, if you really like Tali, you'll like her and her character no matter what she looks like.
Besides, Quarians are Human but with funky feet and hands, it's not like she'll look like a fucking rapist monogoloid

We're so chill our keyboards are made of ice
about ashley, kinda makes no sense to me as well to wear a mini-skirt and no armour at all. shields fail a lot and then you're a dead man if wearing an outfit that should only be a casual one aboard the normandy.
I hope they get rid of breather masks and reintroduce proper helmets. space suits cover the whole body for a reason, not even funny to think about what happens to eyeballs at the mercy of the vacuum in space.
I'm a sucker for at least a tiny amount of realism in games, makes me rant quite a lot sometimes.

I doubt you can ruin talis face so badly as garrus low res textures in ME1 and the stupid turbine/fan on his ear in ME2. at least he's healed in the third game.

They best not give Jack clothes in ME3, only reason I play with Jack is because she doesn't have any one. And because she's fucking awesome.

also, you can see she's got a humanoid face though, probably just different hair or ears like someone said once in this thread once.
