Yep, Steam's holding a Summer Sale again, and guess what? They and assorted game developers are doing essentially the Summer Potato ARG. Except less ARG and more achievements. When does it all start? 30th of June.

Easy bucko! First off, we have a number of new achievements added to seemingly random games on Steam, which [URL="http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1954936"]you can read more about here[/URL]. Then, we have the Killing Floor Summer Circus Sideshow Event Thingy. Which starts on the 30th.
Thirdly, we have the new Team Fortress 2 crate added to the game - the Refreshing Summer Cooler(oolalala.) Added just yesterday, it is much like the Festive Winter Crates that sparked so much controversy last Christmas. Except SUMMER! Woo! I hope Protoype goes on sale for a good bit because I've been wanting a good open world sandbox game where you have superpowers and shit and not average joe with a gun.
That and if Valve gives us a free key for one of those crates I'll be happy.
And is there going to be a different thread when it's the actual Summer sale?
I hope Dirt 3 becomes dirt cheap.

If not MX vs ATV: Reflex is a fantastic offroad racing game. I hear it's poorly optimized on PC though.

Every single time there has been a summer or winter event on Steam it's always been the time I have to go and visit another country just before it starts and I completely miss out on everything until I return back a day or two after it ends. I swear I keep running into bad timings year after year with this.

I do get a nice tradeoff for visiting foreign countries on holidays but I also miss out on so many deals and fun Steam events when they both occur coincidently at the exact same time.

I've currently been outta work and out of any suitable form of financial income for a while now so I can't afford to sacrifice cash on virtual products and games or on stuff which isn't important. So on the bright side this at least helps me kick the curb on my habit of impulse buys :v:

I hope they don't let 6 different game developers control an ARG again. The Potatoes ARG was fucking horrible as far as ARGs go. It was barely an ARG at all, just like "lol weird sounding thing in this game!! omg it's like the video games are real!!!"
