Dammit, my game keeps crashing. No idea why, and it happens randomly, but it crashes all the time!
SOFTWARE MODE
If you don't know it yet, today's graphic's cards are actually TOO powerful for the game engine.
do you get an error message or just a crash to desktop? mine crashes to desktop sometimes but i never get an error... and it rarely does it

-Disable Desktop Composition
-Disable Visual Themes
AERO loves to fuck with older games before 2005 for some reason unless its on Steam.
Hey guys. Ogopogo got kicked from the group, and I would like him to be added again. He's my brother, and honestly, all that he wants to do is play, not mess around with other people's stuff, he did this delightful ocean/mountain area below all our cities.
Yes! I actually did well making a city. I mean, the roads are congested and I think there's something in the water, but I still made a decent city, dammit!

Already done that because of graphical glitches, but...

Haven't done that. Thanks, I'll try that now.
How are the graphics and content on this game? I'd consider joining if I wasn't so reluctant on the 2003 release date.
Edit: Because I've moved on to CitiesXL 2011 for my city building game whenever I get the urge to play...
CitiesXL is shit compared to SC4 imo.

SC4 is THE city building game.
Nothing else even compares imo

Connect Pissing Sound's road connections inside Piss Town then.
Explain why/how because I haven't played SimCity 4.
They have different feelings and SC4 came out first.
I personally liked both. SC4 felt more organized but with CitiesXL you could actually place plots the way you FUCKING wanted to.
My own gripe with SC4, NO I don't want a damn street there! NO POINT THE HOUSE THE OTHER WAY!
*Cry* Still doesn't work.
And Maxis still had control over the franchise at the time it was made, EA hadn't absorbed them yet, and the subsidiaries are always better at developing a game than when you see only EA's name on it.
Explain why/how because I haven't played SimCity 4.
CitiesXL is better only in aesthetic value. SC4 is way more complex and has a much higher level of quality. I could go into a whole rant but I'd rather not.

Actually no, the intricate nature of Cities XL was kinda of ruined by the monthly payment bullshit. If you were there at the beginning, trading was boss.

I could go on :v:
"Wait wait, where are my on ramps?! I PUT THEM RIGHT HERE!"
did you know that if you hold down shift, alt and ctrl and click on the “god tools” you can use the terraforming toolls again?

done
So Drexel Hill has become a true city, not more suburbs exist. I made the transition to commercial surrounding Apartment complexes just now. First time ever that one of my cities have gotten to this level.
People who are getting errorless CTD's who have multicore processors may want to try setting the processor affinity to use only one core. Mine used to do that before I changed it.
It's really annoying that I can't attract any high income residential or high level commercial shit to my city. What's up with that?

I'm in the same boat.
I can only seem to build ghettos and suburbia's.

I've gotten some decent development by making the affected parties taxes zero. But it's still nothing close to what I can get in single player.
The RPI or RFI or whatever is fucked three ways from Sunday that's why.
Partly from cheats and partly from imported awesome cities. If you started from scratch you're going to have a hard time.

In All seriousness, I want to start over, let those people who just like making terrain go to town on the region for a week or so and then let us city builders start.
It would be nice if we could get a nice heightmap texture to create the terrain for the region.
the highway system is so fucked too, people arent building them through their cities and just using avenues and they arent all connected properly
it would of been great if it turned out something like this

I've tried adding in highways but people put them in the oddest spots for other cities.
I've tried adding in highways but people put them in the oddest spots for other cities.
I often make mine divide my city somehow, I try to get it through the "middle" of a developed area, because having a dividing line makes zone segregation easy, and makes toll management easy as well. The problem is that not every city sees "eye to eye" with others' borders.

We're already better than that; we may be a bit more sporadic, but we're more populace and more successful.
We just need to have a no import and no cheat rule.
