Cool. When it's finished will it be released? I'm not very good at Simcity so I don't want to mess anything up for you guys. Look's neat though!
There is plenty of space and there are plenty on beginner players starting.
Starting connected to pretty much anywhere at this stage results in 0 demand for residential zones and your city easily ends up being a huge industrial complex or a tiny part of the sprawling office megalopolis. I'm using the Goon Gigapack. I briefly had it quoted here but you need a Alluvion account (SA-account tied file sharing) account to download it. It includes NAM and SPAM, an absolute fuckton of buildings and ploppables and some mod which makes everything look lush and lovely. The last one seems to be used by a few people, it's what causes some areas of the region to look way greener with darker water and all around more realistic.
we should move to an svn instead of dropbox
Now we just need someone to volunteer to set one up.
It would not work aswell as dropbox does. You would have to commit your saves manually. I was looking for a alternative the other day, and really dropbox is pretty unique and the best way of doing this.
At least like every other solution doesn't randomly mass delete files.
I cannot find any SVN auto commiters for windows.
I dont mind switching to something else, not sure how you could convince everyone else to though, if its simple then I guess it would be better for the project. Anyway, I've noticed theres demand for more stuff now, it was getting to a point where there was no demand or anything.
Or just bad at using Google. http://gael-varoquaux.info/computers/svnautocommit/index.html
There is nothing in there, I already checked that. Nothing for Windows. You don't understand, It needs to be committed as soon as the file is changed for optimal sync.
I want a third city :(
I want a third city :(
What's stopping you?
I want a third city :(
I have 13, I think you can have more then 3.
signed up for this hopefully i get in soon
This is a collaboration project between multiple FPers in the hopes to make a Utopian society, streamed and constantly updated to everybody else while playing Sim City 4. By the way, there is plenty of space for everyone. You can build as many cities as you want. This place is huge.
Yeah you can have more than two cities.
get in the group chat more
Could i host the SVN, because i know a lot how servers, and how bots and such like svn's work? Also here's a great SVN program http://www.ubersvn.com/download
I doubt SVN is going to be used for this, there are already a ton of contributers and it would just fuck things up.

Binladen, could you reinvite me to the collaboration thing, please?
It would solve more than fuck things up, the entire Dropbox anarchy would be gone, no more random file deletes clearly showing the griefers. And a shit load of other options like users not being allowed to push edited versions of files the don't own.
I'm pretty sure that it's useful seeing who griefers are.

Game crashed, had to restore city file... Um... [editline]8th July 2011[/editline] ... And the restored file isn't showing up on the region. Great. Just noticed at least one of the regions I terraformed has gone too. Isn't this a load of fun.
Hey Cheese, what's the mod that you used for snowy mountains? I'd love something like that.
Hey Cheese, what's the mod that you used for snowy mountains? I'd love something like that.
He used SC4 Terraformer and imported the cities.
Tell me why that would a problem then,
Lack of sync, higher chance of someone putting a city on someone elses newly established city with the amount of members.
all these tiles with dark blue water are kind of annoying
He used SC4 Terraformer and imported the cities.
As I said I just use the Something Awful Gigapack. So it's one of these: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18071714/pluginlist.txt Only problem is if you load the 'desert' part of the region it appears as lush grasslands with snowy plateaus.
I might come in and join, But I have to learn making a decent sized city first, so not yet though :v:. Probably gonna play along an LP of someone, got suggestions on whose LP I should watch?
Don't know about video ones, but this one is entertaining to read and interactive: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3410697 Also, found out why the pedestrian mall mod is so lovely, The Mikfoz Center, Little Pissington: [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/BdKhw.jpg[/thumb]
From what I've gathered from that plugin list you posted, you and I both use the same watermod, http://www.simtropolis.com/forum/files/file/11836-peg-water-mod-brigantine/ You are also using CycleDogg's Italia Terrain Mod, with his ItaliaRiver trees available in godmode. Sadly, it isn't on the STEX anymore.
I'm not very good at the game. City bankrupts 4 hours into it. But I sent a PM nevertheless.
I'm not very good at the game. City bankrupts 4 hours into it. But I sent a PM nevertheless.
Micromanage your budget more. Don't stick down a ton of fire departments, police departments, water pumps, power stations and highways until your income allows for it. After placing a highway T-junction in my main city I was down from something like 5k income/month to about $200
