Noticed someone went on my city to connect places together. Leave my damn cities alone!
i sent a message to op but never got a reply back
what a shame
Hmmm what kind of city should I recreate
It would solve more than fuck things up, the entire Dropbox anarchy would be gone, no more random file deletes clearly showing the griefers. And a shit load of other options like users not being allowed to push edited versions of files the don't own.
But we've already had so much trouble setting up the Dropbox version, how many know how to use SVN?

You'll get more damn business and revenue, quit whining.
I am definatly taking part in this...stupid steam wont let me re-install Sim City, servers too busy.

Wait until the wee hours of the morning, the Steam servers are less crowded then.
My collaboration folder is still refusing to sync. I could really use some help here.

Nope. Its going downhill, and i dont think its right for someone to alter my city without permission for any reason. I have had zero RCI demand for ages now... woop.
The zero RCI thing is thanks to people using cheats to create extremely volatile supercities which if were played on for longer than 1 game year would collapse into bankruptcy and ruin. Which would be fine if they didn't suck the life out of the entire region like an RCI black hole.
Dropbox works fine. The only time an issue tends to arise is when somebody tries to play/save with an incomplete/outdated region folder and overwrites a load of files with older versions/blank maps. If people knew how to use it properly we'd be dandy.
I was doing some practising and I crashed unexpectedly. Didn't save of course. Oh well

It completely sucks balls, it just drags down all the other cities in the region, like mine which was doing brilliantly for once until the RCI just zero'ed and now its failing. People cheating right at the start to build megacities are dumbasses tbh.
We should clear the region and get everyone to be honest and not cheat.

I'm still for keeping the current region and starting an alternate one so cheating people can still play on the exiting region wallowing in their inside-out economy.
BinLaden hasn't been on in 2 days to accept new people.
:(
I just moved to a new area of the region. The RCI demand in Quebecistan is perfectly fine because it's not connected to anything else. This is part of the reason I did this, and the other part is because I like doing my own terraforming and I prefer making the connections to other cities, rather than adapting to the connections they have to mine.

And I still haven't been re-added to the Dropbox. As I was the first person person to have the randomly deleting problem, I was thought a griefer and kicked... Now it is clear that the random deletion is an issue

I may come join your city then :)
I may come join your city then :)
Funnily enough, someone decided to do that, and Quebecistan's RCI plummeted for a while. I think he may have cheated a bit, not sure, had a generous, but plausible, amount of money. Now there's no C demand, barely and R, and a ton of I. I figure, though, other people may be able to make a quick city nearby full of ether a migrant workforce or jobs, the demand outside of the city is probably a bit different than inside.

Apparently all the neighbour cities are level with mine, but mine isn't level with over half of them. I've tried going into the other areas around my city, and I can't reconcile shit, but I keep getting prompted every time I load mine up, and it wants to wreck all the edges of my city.
Oh look a city with 600,000+ people, try and top that!

Okay, now go build a self-sustainable city with over 600,000 people. That shit you got there is all residential, if you're not cheating then you rely on the people next to you to provide jobs for your obviously migrant workforce. If they were to move or get deleted, your city would destroy itself. I always try to build sustainable, and I do this by building where nobody else is at first. This way I know if they move, I should still be able to run the city passably.

It's good the guy is using and probably providing resources to his neighbors. Just because a city is all residential or all commercial doesn't mean it doesn't help the region as a whole.
Oh wait, it's PoliticalGamer who posted that, I just realized he makes megacities spread out over the area of 5-10 other cities, he's likely got the other 4 tiles beside that loaded with commerce and industry. I thought it was just some random guy.

This.
By the way, with this method are we able to initiate trade deals and such with neighboring cities?

If you take off the city boundaries and names, you will see squares of cities that look awkward and unnatural. Try to make the transitions more gradual between towns.

I was going to say "Well Restrepo looks about right" and then I saw that it was yours :v:
What's up with the new region called just "Facepunch" in the dropbox?
I suppose this is the thread for this question and I might join in on this project once I figure everything out.
How the hell do you get your environment meter to go up? I have full green everything else but environment is full red.
