Please explain. I've watched a dosen reviews and a lot of gameplays just to decide whether to buy it and it seems : a) boring "rpg-er" while in towns b) centered on combat c) combats gets repetetive after aquiring good equipment
Sorry i am not good at explaining why i enjoy things. For me i like mount and blade because it is like taking a Total War game and allowing you to take part in the battles instead of controlling the battles (which you still kind of can do a little bit).

I tried Total War (Rome, Napoleon and Shogun, at friends house) and despite my attempts, I couldn't dig it/like it/learn it. For me it seemed either slow or either hectic, no offense to the fans of the series of course, just not my type of game. What's strange is that I always liked the idea of "gear in a machine" type of game, where you are but a tiny soldier on giant battlefield against another army of tiny gears.
Hafta press e or r, or something like that.
I did. Doors refused to open, so I kinda used some cheats and exploded myself, heh.
To be honest that's exactly why I didn't like it. After putting something like 90 hours into Fallout 3, I got New Vegas thinking "what the hey, it can't be bad, right?" but ended up playing for something like 3 hours before I got super bored and just figured I had done this all before. New Vegas didn't bring too much new to the table, but I guess for the price they're asking, it'd be worth it if understand what you're getting. You know, maybe it's because I don't like western settings or I live right outside of D.C., but I think the setting also had a lot to do with it.
I would literally suck this game's dick if I could, I like it that much. If you really hate western settings or music it's only a part of the game. The first part starts you off in a western town and there's some cowboy/ranger elements to some of the characters but other than that it's by no means a cowboy Fallout. Last time I played Fallout 3 I was really surprised how much shit from New Vegas I missed. There's A LOT of new things in Vegas, if anything Fallout 3 is the proof of concept and New Vegas is the actual game. Bethesda did a really good with mixing Fallout with the Oblivionesque open world gameplay Bethesda's known for, but Obsidian took that shit to another level.
How do you get the Zombie Driver achievement?
How do you get the Zombie Driver achievement?
Are you joking
Buying games now is a more viable option than pirating thanks to valve.
Yeah, ever since the Christmas sale, my pirating numbers plummeted.
How do you get the Zombie Driver achievement?
Slaughter mode, get napalm, set 20 zombie dogs on fire. Done.
What's strange is that I always liked the idea of "gear in a machine" type of game, where you are but a tiny soldier on giant battlefield against another army of tiny gears.
I honestly can't think of any really good examples of a game like that, mainly because it's very difficult to make a game with really large scale battles that matter and still make it look good. Best example I can think of off the top of my head would be Battlefront 1/2. I'm sure there's Battlefield mods that recreate a similar experience though. Still, I'd kill for a Battlefront 3, or more so a Battlefront set in the Warhammer 40k universe. God damn that'd be sweet.

I loved the Mall in FO3 and I like urban settings more than wide open plains like New Vegas has
So why can't I find the Unreal pack or any Epic Games games but Bulletstorm anymore? Is this just me or what?

Many mods to choose from, like C-RPG. I highly recommend it for the low price it is right now mate.
I wanted to get New Vegas. But then I noticed I got 11.79€ left in the Steam wallet :v: [editline]5th July 2011[/editline]
The multiplayer is acutally pretty fun. I raged.
okay I guess M&B complete pack is my pick :) but again, since my cpu speed is 2.3 GHZ (AMD) and M&B Warband requires 2.4 GHz, will I be able to run warband on low settings?
just reposting this on the new page :/ any help?
just reposting this on the new page :/ any help?
What is your CPU exactly?
Huh, so you wouldn't describe Mount & Blade as such game then ?
Mount and Blade would definitely qualify as a playing the soldier gear in the machine kind of game. I just think of those kinds of games in a more modern sense for some reason, so it didn't register I guess. The gear in the machine thing makes me think of being a soldier in a trench in WW1 more than it makes me think of being a maceman climbing up a castle wall, but both are applicable.
I know it's not a cowboy game but the desert setting just throws me off. I loved the Mall in FO3 and I like urban settings more than wide open plains like New Vegas has
I understand that. I would really like to see an open world post apocalyptic game set in an urban environment. Fallout 3 wasn't really a true urban environment to me, all the buildings were in ruins and inaccessable plus you had to go from place to place via subway tunnel. Maybe the new Creation Engine they're using for Skyrim will make environments like that possible for the next Fallout installment.
anyone willing to give me their second Frozen Synapse key :)?
Buying games now is a more viable option than pirating thanks to valve.
Too true.
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/683/ ?
I just get redirected back to the store homepage if I click that.
I just get redirected back to the store homepage if I click that.
It's the Unreal Deal pack.
anyone willing to give me their second Frozen Synapse key :)?
I don't think we will have any of that tonight. I hinted a few times I wanted one a pages back.
What is your CPU exactly?
look up the SKU number 1271897 on best buy.com if you wanna see the full specs, but I swear to god my processor speed is 2.3 GHz
Yeah I hate that system too. My laptop has the same CPU, I don't think it'll handle Warband very well, it's single core.
