For $6 you're getting 2 extremely fun First Person Shooters, if anything the people giving it low scores are all comparing it to modern day first person shooters, when these games were the FPS Kings of the time.

Well it's exactly what it's called. You just have to search throughout the map looking for an Arms dealer that's selling one.

The pixelated HUD/GUI and low-res textures are just distracting. I know there has to be a way to crank the resolution and textures, but I can't seem to find it. Hell, the first person crosshair, for unarmed, is a white blob. :c

Thing is there isn't much. Just 'screen size' 'geometric detail' and 'shadow count'. Rest being silly shit like particles and gamma. Hell, the highest resolution I get is the size of that screen shot.

There *isn*t a way to crank it. Old game, that's how lowres the textures are.

His HUD and GUI look more refined, compared to my pixels. Hell, I couldn't tell what those yellow blobs in the top left corner were during the class creation. :s

If that was a lie, go underwater with one character, wait until the breath bar is almost empty and then switch. Wait until the second bar is gone and then switch again. You should get it on the last character.

Crystal Caverns. Fourth level, not counting the tutorial, right after the Dragon Graveyard. It's no far in there, you can't miss it.

Certainly install the unofficial patches. If not, sooner or later you will find yourself stuck with some sort of strange glitch. But even without them, the HUD never looked that bad for me.
[edit]I looked around, you said you only had options for combat effects and shadows? You are probably looking in the wrong tab. The tab next to it, "Video" should give an option for the resolution.
[edit2]Ok, you said something else, nevermind then. Still, get the Unofficial Patch (that's it's name) and poke around the other tabs in the menu as well.
