I ran a tank squad with my outfit and we were rushing Vanguards through highly populated areas. Some idiot in our empire ran infront of the tank convoy and got hit, and started shooting us. My driver turned around, and mashed him into a rock :v:
He had something like 3k grief from idiots running infront of us and getting plowed down

I've been racking up a fair few grief points shelling bases from afar in a lightning. Accidentally shot down a friendly liberator when it strafed too close and got caught in the splash damage. I'm having one hell of an unlucky day.

Also it seems like a good two thirds of the missions are broken. The healing one gets stuck when it asks me to grab a BANK, the warpgate one gets confused when I get to the warpgate, etc.

no idea what faction you are but with NC the gauss rifle kills incredibly fast, you just gotta hit
keep clicking individual shots and it kills rexos in less than 10 hits

I think it might be more an issue with the connection. You see the shots hitting client side but server side you're off target. With 170 on my ping I wasn't able to kill anyone with anything other than explosives and I suspect people were running out in front of me and shooting before I actually saw them appear on my screen because I was dying faster than I should have, even so far as to continue taking damage from small arms even after running into cover.
A lot of things seem to be client side or just predicted in Planetside.

hit detection is actually calculated clientside in planetside, it's pretty awful when you're on the receiving end but it also means that if you are hitting in your screen, you are hitting for real

There's no way in 10 hits you kill a Rexo... How is that even possible?
I can sit and hit a guy with 30 of my shots and he'll still manage to walk away with half his health left over.
And hit detection, or 'lag' really, is horrible sometimes... I can crouch and peek around a corner, me and a guy exchange a few shots, I run behind the corner, and he'll still be hitting me for a good 2 to 3 seconds. I've been shot down by Anti Aircraft MAX units who were indoors shooting out, AFTER I flew behind the building he was looking out of (Towards his back), AND out of the compound walls

One of the most startling qualities of Planetside is that it is a brutally painful game to play (see doommarines post) but it still appealing in some way.
It is a game in which skill always trumps any magic combination of equipment; believe me, I've tried.
What's annoying is that the password reset flow thing doesn't even let you know if the password you typed was wrong.
So I have no idea if the account I was trying to use was using the password I tired to use.
And don't even ask about the "I forgot my password system" because trying to remember what cryptic answer I gave for "what is your favourite food" 5 years ago is impossible.
Pizza - wrong
Fish and chips - wrong
Spaghetti - wrong
and back then I probably misspelled it.
Got myself through the password mess on my 6 year old SOE account, gonna be fun to play some Planetside again.
I'll be doing a lot of piloting and vehicle driving.
The NC just spent 2 hours attacking Nzame.
We spent the 45 minutes attacking and getting the LLU and we drove the TR back into the spawn room. Then the guy with the LLU thought it would be best to take the route right towards the Vanu advance and gets himself killed.
Then we spend the next hour getting kicked out of Nzame and then fighting back into it again and finally get the LLU to Tore.
So, I'm in-game, how do I get into outfits again?
If only by Invite, I'm "Afrumana"
(Apparently, Afro is a bad word and I can't use that)

The NC Gauss rifle does more damage than the other assault rifles. For the others it takes 13 bullets to kill a rexo from max (iirc). For the gauss it's 9 or 10. The gauss does shoot a bit slower and only has 30 round mag though, but then that's why the NC get the Jackhammer. NC just min-max everything like true power gamers, lol.

Don't bother trying to figure out the forgotten password system, the email it sends you will just tell you there has been an error.
For awhile I had been using that Scout Rifle as an ersatz M1 Garand, rarely used the scope on it. Worked pretty well when it actually registered the damage and killed them.
The cone of fire is kind of tricky, even when it expands out a lot it still hits very well, kind of like shooting with a real M1, you can take careful aim with single shots or just take lots of snap shots and they'll still get pretty close. At least in Planetside you don't have to worry about misfeeding.

I was just fighting at Bomzai or whatever it's called. TR raping the fuck out of everyone with their miniguns. So cheap.
I'm surprised anyone can actually get into this game, the whole password reset system being so horrendously broken.
