1 2 3 brits in a row, brit BINGO! Also I've nearly finished downloading.
Went AFK for a while there, was eating. Time for some HEAVY LODESTAR COMBAT YEAH
Gragrhrhg I still can't get through the "We're sorry, we are unable to proceed. Please restart the Reset Password flow to try again." issue. Goddamnation. If anyone still has an extra account.
Went AFK for a while there, was eating. Time for some HEAVY LODESTAR COMBAT YEAH
Lodestars hang in the same way that bicks of the same size do not. They also work in the same manner as bricks of that size when they hit something solid.
I picked up sensory shield as hezzy mentioned, and am also using the scatter gun pistol now, this is working out so much better.
Anyone got some tips for a complete noobie aside from keep crouching and firing in bursts?
Anyone got some tips for a complete noobie aside from keep crouching and firing in bursts?
Stay in cover, stay with at least 2 other guys when fighting. Take it slow.
Stay in cover, stay with at least 2 other guys when fighting. Take it slow.
I tried that but massive people kept showing up and shooting us with miniguns. I got into some ground vehicles and it was fun, but how do I get and fly planes?
I tried that but massive people kept showing up and shooting us with miniguns. TR Heavy Assault use the chainguns, very hard to fight by yourself with just Medium Assault but it is possible. You Just got to keep fighting until you get your Heavy Assault and then you can easily destroy a TR Heavy by pounding him with the Jackhammer shotgun.
I should get myself a couple of mosquitoes to constantly escort my Lodestar, I'm getting slaughtered if I just leave the gate
And how do I get back to the sanctuary?
Anyone got some tips for a complete noobie aside from keep crouching and firing in bursts?
Guns have bullet drop, although most of the ones you'll normally encounter you don't need to worry about it because guns have a maximum range, the faction assault rifles and the minigun are good to around 125m or so and then their rounds will disappear. Also, I know how tempting it is to do something like expert hacking or advanced engineering if you're into those things, but seriously, wait until you have your first implant slot to get the second level of any of the support skills, giving up rexo or medium assault for those will really screw you over. Get the first rank of medical or engineering so you can heal/repair yourself, and your allies, which will give you tons of XP even if you suck. Stay as a zergling, you can get something like armored assault 1 or something if you can afford it, but trust me when I say uncerting MA or rexo will really make the game miserable. On the plus side, I got the two year term of service award, I get the HSR and scorpion free. :buddy:
And how do I get back to the sanctuary?
Open up the escape menu, "Recall to sanctuary" is the very first option at the top. Simples killing my automerge. :argh:
Does alt-tabbing crash for anyone else? [editline]1st June 2011[/editline]
Open up the escape menu, "Recall to sanctuary" is the very first option at the top. Simples killing my automerge. :argh:
No you killed mah automerge! And derp about the sanctuary bit.
Does alt-tabbing crash for anyone else? [editline]1st June 2011[/editline] No you killed mah automerge! And derp about the sanctuary bit.
It crashes me sometimes if I'm playing fullscreen, but I generally play it windowed so it's easier to tab into steam. Also, what's your ingame name? I'll give you some buddy tips. :buddy:
I picked up sensory shield as hezzy mentioned, and am also using the scatter gun pistol now, this is working out so much better.
Try the AMP. It's good.
Learned how effective medkits are. Always carry 2-3 medkits with you, or at the bare minimum, 1. Bind your first quickslot to a convenient key, like your side mouse button or something. If you're in a fight, deploy the pack as soon as you take more than 25 damage, the pulsar, suppressor, and cycler do 18 damage a shot at close range, but if you're wearing rexo then it'll mitigate around 8 or so of that damage to your armor. Regardless of what you're getting shot at with, deploying a medkit in the middle of a battle will allow you to take 1-2 more hits before dying, giving you the opportunity to empty that last sweeper shell into a guy's face and win. Also, if you don't plan on dying a lot, get second wind, and personal shield too. Second wind has an absurd initialization timer (3 minutes 10 seconds), but as soon as you're about to die it'll instantly dose you up with 25 health and 25 stamina, which combined with personal shield and a medkit gives you a sudden boost of 75 total health, which will pretty much guarantee that you'll win the fight if it's a 1v1. Also, for you newer players, in my opinion your first implant should be personal shield, sensor shield, or regeneration, mainly depending on what you want to specialize in. Personal shield are good for if you like to play as cannon fodder, allowing you to stay in the battle for much longer. Sensor shield is obviously good if you like to do the infiltration jazz, keeping you from getting shot up from turrets and getting spotted on radar. Regeneration is honestly good for both, zerglings will be able to regenerate their health between battles without needing to cert medical or waste their precious medkits, and sneaky dudes can regain any lost health from landmines or turrets you get surprised by, especially if you're deep behind enemy lines or using an infiltration suit, both of which you won't be able to have a reliable source of healing or medkits. :v: In reality though, all of the implants are great, I personally like to rock enhanced targeting most of the time due to the fast initialization time, and being able to pick off weaker enemies is better for your team than blasting at the guy in full rexo with full health instead of the guy in agile with no armor and 1/8th health. Surge is also really helpful, but I wouldn't recommend it as a first implant purely because it's not as versatile as some of the other implants. Darklight and audio amplification are both almost purely used for detecting cloakers, but otherwise almost entirely useless. They're better as a second or third implant. The zoom implant, in my opinion, is very useless, as there's only one gun in the game it benefits, the bolt driver, and an extra level of magnification for it really isn't that useful. I'm sure there's somebody here that will disagree, but unless it's your third implant don't bother with it. Melee booster is good for infiltrators, but it only makes it a two-hit kill with the incredibly loud secondary mode of knives. Generally you will want to stay as far as possible from people if you're using the infiltration suit, as even somebody with a flaklet rifle (see: no damage) can kill you in a few shots. Sorry for going on a rant here, just thought it'd be nice to all of the newer players. :v:
Had fun playing with afromana last night, flying around and getting shot at! What would you all recommend for someone who wants to fly alot?
Had fun playing with afromana last night, flying around and getting shot at! Reaver is a great assault aircraft, tanks are fucked if you attack them and they don't have any kind of AA support. Wasp is good too but it's got paper thin armor, without any shields/benefits it only has 515 health. If you know what you're doing though, you can easily clear the skies of anything. Call me a selfish cunt all you want, I really love to use the liberator as a heavy gunship. The 30mm nose cannon absolutely rapes anything, and if you can convince a buddy to tag along, the tailgun can keep wasps off your tail and provide extra firepower. :v:
Sure, but I play TR.
Ah, ok then, I'm NC.
