Man, I wish they'd take the profits from the STALKER trilogy and make what they originally envisioned for SOC. I probably wouldn't need another game for a couple years.
That's what Lost Alpha is for. :v: Their best vizualization of what the game should be like, at least.
I think it's a glitch, I can use one and sometimes I don't bleed at all. I'm also playing on veteran so it's doubly weird. [editline]3rd July 2011[/editline] So no-one really knows what upgrades I should use for the LR300? Also does everyone read all the past pages or just the most recent posts?
If you want the game to be super easy you always upgrade accuracy. Rate of fire is useless. Occasionally I go through the last few pages but normally every time I check there's like 500 new posts and a new thread and I just can't be fucked.

I'm up to X8, almost finished the series. [editline]3rd July 2011[/editline] And that old plot ending sounds amazing.
And that old plot ending sounds amazing.
It kind of does happen in one of the bad endings of the released game. The problem is that you can't make a sequel from such an ending.
Is there any place for STALKER Fanart? (besides dA.)
I don't think any of the false endings actually happen, they're just the result of very powerful psy manipulation making Marked One go crazy. The Monolith can do many things, but nothing more than C-Con and the Zone can do. It is not easy to manipulate everything so directly and it may interfere with C-Con's work going against why they made the Wish Granter in the first place. They could make an ending of it, none of it actually happened and Marked One just went crazy and died. Of course the actual ending is one in which something actually happens so there is some overall story progression.
That design doc is amazing. [editline]3rd July 2011[/editline]
Is there any place for STALKER Fanart? (besides dA.)
Post it here :)

Hence why, for example, Guide cannot travel anywhere in the world, but he is able to go to the most unknown regions of The Zone like he built the paths leading to them.

It makes sense that it would only be in the Zone, that is the only place it has power to give, but I didn't think he had had a wish granted.
Guide got his abilities from the Wish Granter? One of the PDA stories also states that he might be the first stalker ever, althrough that title is permamently tied to Forester. Another stalker who is said to have a granted wish is Doctor, who apparently got his abilities to heal living things just by touching them from The Wish Granter, but it made him not see a diffrence between a mutant and a human.
Thats badass, but does that mean that... they are monolith sleeper agents?
Either way, your fate and the fate of others depends on the words you choose while talking to The Wish Granter. Like, for example, when Strelok says "I don't want to see this Zone anymore." in the Russian version of SoC he goes blind.
Also something P. cool, my dads overpriced mac monitor actualy goes up to 1900x1280 and I'm gonna buy a new graphics card soon (GTX 560 or the like, good enough to run stalker maxed out) for like $114 like my bro did, so I'll be able to enjoy all the dynamic lagless beautiful gameplay that is stalker!
Thats badass, but does that mean that... they are monolith sleeper agents?
No, Monolith Sleeper Agents are stalkers who are brainwashed via those [sp]TV screens[/sp] you see at the end of Clear Sky. The brainwashed stalkers are then separated into two groups: Monolith forces and Sleeper Agents, who are sent into the Southern Zone via death trucks. However, due to C-Conc's inability to sense whenever or not the stalkers in the halls are alive or not most of them end up dead before they get deployed. Marked One was very lucky. [editline]3rd July 2011[/editline]
He goes blind in the english version too doesn't he?
Yes, but he says "I want the Zone to disappear."
I thought it went like this [sp] If you reach the wish granter (weird how their are so many monolith, did all these people really reach the centre and pass the brainscorcher?!) you can make a wish, and you get a vision, but in reality it's just a mind trick, and it literally 'washes' your brain, then they take you to those rooms to reprogram you, and some are turned into sleeper agents, sent back into stalker communities as spies and agents waiting for their orders or peforming their commands like streloks command to kill himself. The brainwashing process can result in death of the victims and those that die are sent to be disposed of in death trucks, and they thought strelok was dead already. I'm probably wrong and the dead stalkers in the death trucks are just the unlucky ones they can't distinguish from the live.)[/sp]
Well I'm playing CoP and I got some radiation while out looking for artifacts in an anomaly, now it won't go away, no matter how many anti-rads I take...
Well I'm playing CoP and I got some radiation while out looking for artifacts in an anomaly, now it won't go away, no matter how many anti-rads I take...
Its a glitch, you need to reload a previous save. Also make sure you don't have +rad artifacts on you lol, I did that once and couldn't figure out wtf was happening because I didn't know the difference between SoC and CoP artifacts.

That would be far too impractical since nearly nobody is able to reach the Wish Granter. However, wish granter is able to alter things going on in The Zone via anomalous activity, like, for example, dropping the Sarcophagous roof on Strelok while making him think it's golden coins.
So how are they brainwashed? People that walk into the x-16 psi field and the brain scorcher become zombies? Or are those zombies taken in and reprogramed?
So how are they brainwashed? People that walk into the x-16 psi field and the brain scorcher become zombies? Or are those zombies taken in and reprogramed?
X-16's miracle machine was a project desinged to alter other minds via a larger, more sophisticated mind. But it didn't work exactly as planned and everyone near it turned into zombies. Brain Scorcher was desinged to reprogram human brains the moment they walk into it, but it depends on the psychological strength of the said human which means that the stalkers that walked near the Scorcher will either turn into zombies, Monolith troops or brainless husks. The brainwash process in the CNPP is conducted via a reliable technique which is set to program the mind of a human(or a zombie) in two specific ways via a bunch of [sp]flashy impulses on big TV screens[/sp], but the human can die during the process for multiple reasons.
cool. Thanks for helping me understand that lol.
This place helps you understand even more: http://stalker.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page Just be careful, don't spoil anything for yourself.

I have finished SoC twice, and the wiki is actually where I got the presumption that the death trucks were actually just for dead bodies. So yea the only spoilers for me are in the ending of Clear Sky, but it's pretty obvious what happens because it's a prequel tied to the main character of the original game.

I was just telling you it's possible to spoil one of the games for you, specifically COP.

Decided I'd play AMK:SE again. I attacked a rookie because I wanted to mess around, and the game crashed. When I tried to load a previous quicksave, the game crashed when it was synchronizing. Ok the amount of times I have died in Redux at the burnt farmstead because I have forgotten to take off artifacts that reduce my thermal protection is just getting ridiculous. Even worse is the amount of times I have done that without saving for the last hour or so. I use the space bubble there to cut across the map to get to Yanov and I am constantly dying in the thermal anomalies there. Whyyyyyyy?! I have not died so many times anywhere else in the zone. Nowhere!
Bah, last CoP mission. Monolith of course, rather than shooting at the military, focus all of their fire on you.
