Fuckers sniped me from across half of Cordon with their goddamn rusty T-33s.
LURK is nice but some things are plain ridiculous.
A few bandits spawned behind me while I was raking in a haul of loot (in a corpse, of course) to Sidorovich. Both of them pulled out their PP-SHs and turned me into swiss cheese. Luckily, I gunned them down first before I bled out. I also really hate how bandits can kick my ass with their crappy little makarovs before I can pull out my Sako. The farthest I've gone so far is the Bar, running errands for the Barkeep. I have a feeling that Yantar's gonna be a pain in the ass with near invincible zombies and snorks, as well as getting beaten to death with boxes by those psychic things in X-16.
LURK is definitely one of the big boys. If you like realistic combat, choose that.
I certainly did. Just want a mod now to make it even more awesome. I just remember seeing some video of STALKER from years back and if I remember correctly, the player was in like a warehouse at night and just loads of rats or something came up and attacked him. It looked cool
Haha ok cheers. Well I am downloading LURK so is that one of the big mods? Like what are the ones I should have to choose between?
LURK is a mod that does a complete overhaul of the realism (save for a few things) in the game. It also adds loads of new weapons and a few new ammo types. You'll be able to enjoy it better if you've played Vanilla SoC first.

Well I'm more so looking for one with most features. Like something trying to make the game more what it was going to be before stuff was cut out. Like fallouts and shit like that. Any help would be great.
AMK certainly has that feel to it.
I forget which mod includes the Blowouts, that might be Oblivion Lost. Hell, you'll love OL if you also enjoy saving the game after killing every bandit/merc/soldier you come across. I could never tell whether the armor was crappy, or if that "1-shot-to-kill" system was put in OL.
I have assumed the proper story stance, and I'll hopefully be able to writing SOMETHING tonight
And it's probably one of the best mods there is.
It's also damn hard.
All in all, AMK is totally amazing and great all around.
Yeah try AMK:Sidorovich Edition. It's great.
It's also a lot of mergebreak.
So I should get AMK then and play through it?
Fuck you thorny.
:suicide:
Do I have to get the 1st AMK and then install the Sidorovich Edition?

No, SE is standalone.
What is the difference between them?
SE adds graphics, some guns iirc and some other stuff.

It's also compatible with the steam version (1.0005) out of the box.
And does it contain all of the stuff from the regular edition? Also, does it allow randomness? I remember playing a mod some years ago where the camp you start in was randomly attacked and some members died etc.
Yes and stalker is like that from the beginning, although not very obviously.
Alright cool. Do you know of a link for the most up to date version of them? Will I have to install them both? Also, do I need to uninstall Stalker Complete?
Yes you need to uninstall Complete

Oh shit, remember how [sp]Bandits fucking ambush you at the end of Agropom Underground?[/sp]
How the fuck am I supposed to survive this with LURK? Even in vanilla the only solution was "spam healing things and run", LURK does not allow that.
Shit.
Also there's no difference between AMK:SE and spending a little effort with the AMK and AMK-EN installers and you'll get the mutant strength, anomaly visibility, scope aspect ratio etc settings the way you like them
Then just apply AMK Arsenal on top and install the 1.0005 patch
all of this can be found with google

They only are a problem if you leave the undeground the same way you came.

I've played Lurk on master up until X16 with only an SKS, without a suit.
Nothing is impossible and Lurk is pretty damn easy.
Ah right okay, so I do I just get AMK SE then? I don't need to install the 1st AMK then? Sorry about all these questions just pretty confused on this. And I just uninstalled Complete there.
Yeah just get AMK:SE.
Sweet downloading now. Should I get Kingos improved inventory or does AMK include a revamped inventory?

That was actually the only area where stealth helped me. I cleared that place out pretty easily with a suppressed TT-33 and a Toz-34. I only got hit a few times, and grenades help when soldiers decide to bunch up in a doorway.

Hmmmm?
First time in the Underground if you get out from where you came, the story does not progress.
Second time the exit at the end is locked, or at least it was for me. Methinks I remember it wrong?
