Man I wish TFW and STALKER in general didn't eat up all my ram. This shit is tedious as all hell. Also a couple pages back someone was saying that TFW was called 'The Faction War', rather than 'Total Faction War'. Sort of true, but originally the mod was referred to as 'Total Factional Warfare' actually. Around patch 0.8.8 I think, and then the thread titles started to change. The most recent thread on GSC forums is titled 'The Faction War'.
So there's no way to order squads to certain areas in TFW without being there first?
So there's no way to order squads to certain areas in TFW without being there first?
You can talk to the squad leader and tell them to go to a certain area.
So I can't order a squad from base to a specific location. Okay well that makes shit harder and doesn't really make sense if you have a radio and you can't tell people to go certain places remotely. That's cool though the mods only in beta so hopefully they'll add in the ability to do that.

Faction leaders send squads to the goals, you command them to more specific spots and help them out.

Smoq2 isn't keen on doing that sort of thing, but if someone else worked on it I guess..
Yea I get you croguy and MuTAnT but I wasn't thinking specific areas on the PDA I was thinking "Hey we need guys at..." and a scroll down list of locations in the area. Even a field commander could make suggestions, because in situations like I had before where your defending a location under attack and an outpost up north is also being attacked and a dispatch squad has already arrived but they need more help, being able to order more guys to that outpost while remaining at yours would be easier than abandoning your post and returning to base to tell them to run up to the camp.

I actually played a Clear Sky mod that had a walkie talkie, you could radio squads and order them that way. I have no idea what mod it was though.
Pffff, I had harder challenges. Like getting to the Army Warehouses in People Soup.
All you need is a BA-5 shotgun and all your problem are gone.
All you need is a BA-5 shotgun and all your problem are gone.
Oh, I was talking about the DMX version.
Oh, I was talking about the DMX version.
So was I.
So whats some good video editing software that is quick and easy to learn/use? I promised myself never to use WMM again, but I was too lazy to learn something like Sony Vegas
So whats some good video editing software that is quick and easy to learn/use? I promised myself never to use WMM again, but I was too lazy to learn something like Sony Vegas
Sony vegas is actually pretty simple, I changed over from WMM to it and I have pretty much no video editing experience, trust me VERY simple, I use it for my most recent videos and it only really gets complex if you try to do very serious editing stuff. Its pretty easy to move up from WMM to vegas, the only issue I have is with text but if I was really desperate to use it I would just do a quick search. Its great because my dad has like 5 demo disks saved up from his old job so I have it for like half the year.
So was I.
Well at least there's an advantage with the better translations in DMX, other than that it's nearly impossible to pull something off due to a lack of balance and unoptimization.
Squads are already sent to areas that come under attack, the issue is that they take like 15 minutes in real time to get there to reinforce the area.
Yea but what I mean is I came to a situation where I was defending the southern farmstead in swamps and the northern farmstead came under attack, and HQ refused to send a squad up because they had come under attack 5 minutes earlier.
Oh look, for those of you interested in Secret Trails 2, I apparently had it uploaded to my dropbox, so enjoy!
My stalker boner is hard again. Also Paravin should post this on the top and bottom of the OP:
Had a good sleep and done [editline]6th July 2011[/editline] STORY DAY STALKERS!!
First time I played through SoC I didn't use one artifact, I fucking sold them all because I was too dense
For some reason I can't equip artifacts in LURK. I feel dumb. [editline]6th July 2011[/editline] But hey, at least I'm a rich idiot.
You can't. It's one of the ''features''. A pretty retarded feature, but I guess no one agrees with me.
Love the STALKER series, haven't owned SoC but have played it before and I decided to buy it on the steam sale, downloading now. The other games are great too, Freedom is awesome, eat shit Duty Fascists.
Time to open the motherfucking all.spawn file for LURK 1.2 and add/remove/relocate a whole bunch of items/mutants/anomalies.
Is the Steam version of SoC fucked or something? It takes really long to load a new game, anytime I change graphics settings it takes forever, waiting with a black screen. And I just quicksaved there and the game froze?
Fuck yes I found the song, and it's so good that I'm gonna write something for it. The Song *CRASH!* A thunderstrike illuminated the sky, the brilliant light flashing across the water streaked visor of the mercenary. It was raining heavily as the Zone decided to attempt flood out it's occupants, and as the mercenary ran across the waterlogged dirt and mud, he felt with every bone in his body the punishment the Zone was dealing. Skidding to a halt he ducked as he heard the grass around him rustle, the hundreds of browning, dying water reeds shifting to the left and right as something approached him. The merc stood perfectly still, breathing only in short, harsh breaths. A small pale cloud of resperation could be seen leaving the holes on his gasmask as the chilled wet air around him condesed and froze it. The rain began to beat harder on his shoulders, and as the reeds continued to part he waited, Bizon pointed hap-hazardly at what he assumed was the source of the noise. The noise slowed, and came to a stall, as whatever had been moving towards him left the bank of reeds, its slow bulky footsteps obviously canceled out by the sharp sounds of the rain splashing in the puddles and pools of water around him. Unable to see a shift in movement from the reeds ahead, the merc slowly turned his head to each side to see if the creature of man had moved on to flank him, and sure enough there it was, a few feet to his left, its side turned as it examined a bone jutting from the muddy, murky waters. It was a bloodsucker, and as it kneeled on its slimy thick skinned knees he could see its sharp spine ridge along it's thickly matted hairy back, evidently having not eaten for quite some time. Careful not to alert the ravenous creature the merc slowly took a step backward in his crouch, watching as the blood curdling creature curled its tentacals around the bone and attempted to suck the marrow out of it. Unfortunately for the merc, the Zone was not on his side today, and he crushed a small disgarded food wrapper under his foot, loudly. The creature turned, its body snapping to the side in a strangely graceful but terrifying manner, its eyes flashing orange and then a brilliant white as a lightning bolt refracted of it's reflective irises. It dropped the bone and it's mouth tentacles went rigid as it let out a ground shaking bellow, spraying the merc with corrosive spittle. Not to waste a momentary opportunity the merc attempted a jump from a crouch at it, smacking it in the chest and stunning it slightly. The vampiric monstrocity recovered rapidly however and struck out to the mercs side as he pulled his rifle to face it, knocking him back and tearing his suit. The merc rolled onto his side, his bizon scattering to a few feet away. Afraid and desperate he tugged at the grip of his pistol, its trigger guard caught on the edge of his belt. The creature stepped on his chest and leaned over him, its dripping saliva burning small holes in his suit. As its tentacles wove around his neck, the merc managed to pull the pistol from it's holster and immediately smacked the creature in the side of the head, it fell to the side and the merc rolled, pointing his pistol towards its eyes. "Fuh.." His attempt to heroically say a finishing line was interrupted as its brow narrowed, it's hatred only fueled by his desperate attempt to save his life. A shot rang out from the roar of the rain beating the ground. Bleeding and exhausted the merc spotted a small light in the distance, and regardless of whether the source was owned by hostile or neutral stalkers he needed it, and began limping towards it, his bruised joints failing to move him at the speed his urgency required. As he reached the camp, a small machine yard with a fire pit, he spotted a solitary guard, a masked and hooded man in a grey-green jacket and tracksuit pants. Nodding to the loner the merc threw himself down to the ground, a splatter of blood spraying across one of the men opposite him ignoring it. As the Merc pulled out a medical kit from his pack and attended to his wounds, a man next to him pulled out a guitar, and began to delicately pick at its strings. As the now recovering merc sat back and watched the fire crackle, the sound of sweet notes sang through the stormy night, the thunder and echoing around them and rain beating ferociously on the tin roof, and yet still it's tones were still appreciated by the men. For a few sweet seconds the merc realized he was safe. The Zone could strike out at any moment and kill him in the blink of an eye, a mutant could tear him in half or a bandit could shoot him in the back of the head, but for just a short, solitary moment, he was safe. He was home.

[release] As the last sunlight hid beyond the treetops, another day in the manmade hell - The Zone, had passed. Another twenty four hours filled with dread and excitement. It was a successful day for Vladimir Sputnik, a shoe vendor from Moscow, who had arrived here a few weeks back and was just getting acquainted with the bigger dangers of the area - the people. No matter how much everyone stresses out the mutants and the anomalies as lethal dangers, nothing could beat the very same humans when it came to blood thirst. Vladimir was coming back from a raid in the Garbage when a thunderstorm hit, so he hid inside a nearby farm and waited out the rain to stop. Sadly nightfall came sooner, so he made a cozy fireplace in a hidden corner and started eating. Then he heard footsteps. Three pairs of, without any doubt, human feet approaching. Vlad raised his gun and pointed at the nearby doorway, as the first person came through, instantly jumping at the sight of a shotgun barrel looking at him. " Woah! Man! Lower your gun, we're friendly! " Meanwhile all three men had pushed inside and were now looking at the rookie. Vladimir too spent his time looking at the company, when he noticed that one of the men had a snake tattoo on his face, leading from the right ear to the left eye. Then he remembered these men, these were the guys who tired to mug him two days back, when he barely escaped with his life due to lucky conditions. This time he had no choice. " Friendly my ass, you criminal scum! " He shouted out as a barrage of erupted from his shotgun and into the body of the nearest bandit. He just managed to draw his pistol and shoot another one right in the left eye before a powerful shot took out his pistol holding arm and sent him flying against the wall. Pain filled him as he raised his head and looked at his crippled arm, which almost completely destroyed by a small distance Chaser shotgun shot. The snake eye approached him in anger and kicked him right in the face, once more thrusting his head against the hard brick wall. " You're going to pay for this you little shit! " He exclaimed as he grabbed Vlads head by the hair and unsheathed his knife. Then he shifted his weight and pressed his knee against his neck, pinning his head to the wall and not allowing him to move, while the knife approached the Stalkers eyes. Vladimir tried to plead for mercy, but no sound could come out of his neck, as all he could do was choke and see the tip of the knife approaching his eyes. And in a sfift motion the bandit jammed the knife into his eyesocket and quickly ripped the tender organ out. Beneath him the man was in complete shock and in excruciating pain, and he flailed about. Once more the man bashed his head against the wall, and the victim calmed down a bit. " Yeah you're gonna love this! " The snake eye laughed as he opened his trousers and grasped his erect 6 inch penis in his blood covered hand. A bit of precum had formed around the tip. The bandit pointed his dick at the empty eye socket and slowly put his phallus at the opening. The rookie underneath him could do nothing else but watch, as his body was weak and unable to fight back from the pain, the loss of blood and the pain in his skull. And he didn't waste any time as he jammed the organ all the way into the poor man. " Oh fuuck, you feel better then some of the guys! " He thrusted into the eye socket for a good two minutes before already blowing his load into the head of the male underneath him. Then, while still laughing, he jammed a knife right into the stomach of his victim. With a swift upwards motion he cut open his torso and started digging around. Vladimir went into another series of pre-death convulsions, since the man had managed to dig his way to the heart and now had already jammed the knife into it. A quick death after the painful procedure. Snake eye looked at the situation and understood, that he had to his this shit from anyone. So, after taking a steamy shit into the torso of the just killed man and wiping his cum-covered penis on his face, he threw the body into the fire along with his comrades. A bit of fuel later and all of the bodies were churning nicely in the fire pit. As the smell of cooked meat started expanding, a pack of wild dogs noticed the smell and approached the farm..[/release] [editline]6th July 2011[/editline] bye
