I just bought the whole stalker series and i'm starting with shadow of chernobyl. Its pretty fun so far!

How do I update Shadow of Chernobyl to version 1.0006 so that I can play on other peoples servers? I have the steam version, and I expected it to have updated by itself, though it hasn't.

I suggest you not to use it since it renders a great deal of mods unplayable, and the STALKER multiplayer isn't that good either.

Also, I tried installing that patch. I first downloaded the worldwide version, because I don't live in the US. That didn't work, it said I had to download the US version. Fair enough, maybe that's due to Steam. Then I downloaded the US version, but again it told me I had the wrong version. Apparently I have the "[]" version, and you need the "[en]" version.

Gonna fire up SoC for another playthrough soon. What are some good mods that are 1.0005 compatible? I remember hearing AMK was but when I tried it it crashed shortly after the intro.

[editline]6th July 2011[/editline] Oh yea, and make sure that the game doesn't auto-update, otherwise the patch won't work.
