When does it crash?
So you found the file, and made sure the values there were correct? Do you have A) the latest version of the game
B)All of the mod files, no corruption ect.
If you have it all together and in the gamedata file, the values correct, and the latest patch, it should otherwise:iiam:
When does it crash?
As soon as I open it. Click icon, screen goes black, then back to desktop saying a crash has occurred.
Anyone know any silly music to listen to while I play STALKER?

I found the file and corrected the value. The Steam version is the 1.0005, but the servers in MP use the 1.0006, methinks my version is old somehow.

Try verifying the game cache.

Call of Pripyat, easily.
Urgh, I'm juggling TF2, STALKER and MK9
Pripyatan is CoP's version of the Soup. It's crazy as fuck but a bit better in terms of translation and quality. Blaberry hates it because his game hatebangs it and crashes each time he starts it, but it only crashed twice for me til today.
The start is like walking throught a forest of needles naked but once you get throught that it's just endless sea of slaughtering your way to wherever you're going.
Also guns, boatload of guns, althought I didn't like how they replaced PKM with a shitty M249
Am I the only one who thinks all this crazy stuff like Soup destroys the atmosphere in stalker?
Gonna stream AMK:SE now.

Cool, I'll be there in a while, just going to the store first.

Things like the Soup, SGM, they're loaded with features which is kinda interesting but it takes away all the challenging fun of the first little bit, near the car park. You get a rainbow of exoskeletons and weapons that shoot enriched death, it all becomes a bunch of fetch quests rather than a struggle to stay alive.
Thinking about reinstalling Shadow of Chernobyl.
Someone convince me to :h:
Connection kept dropping, lowered the stream quality.

But at least SGM tries to keep the atmosphere, People Soup just adds in everything it possibly can.

The only "struggle to stay alive" was during the first hour of Redux.

I'm going to do the exact opposite
I'm going to convice you to play Call of Pripyat untill you die on your chair. Get Redux and enjoy the Silent hill fog.
Try verifying the game cache.
But it DOES work if I launch it vanilla... I'll see if my version is really old or not (shouldn't be, but still...) and retry with the patched version.
Redux was fun until I got the AK-74, then it turned easy
Oh great, patcher hates the Steam version, saying it's corrupt or damaged.
FUCK DAMMIT.

Found a quick and easy guide to patch the Steam version. Let's get this rollan'.

Try replaying your favorite game over long periods of time and not want to try something new.
Also here's a story guys.
The Lucky One
My name is Fang, and even though I wasn't the least experienced rookie in the Zone, I was by far not going to do well with the amnesia I had contracted thanks to a blowout gracefully provided by the Zone. Wincing to avoid the glare as I checked my PDA to see where I was going, I spotted the beacon provided by Lebedev locating the guide to lead me out of this stinking Renegade infested hell hole.
I didn't stop examining the map however, and looking further north I followed the trainline crossing Cordon, which lead past the northern region of the swamps heading further West. Considering the difference between heading south or north, and checking the southern path realized that a large red region further back in the Southern reaches of Cordon was in fact a military outpost I decided not to get a bullet to the brain and I set off North.
Running along the various paths leading to the camp, I skidded to a stop as I spotted a group of bandits running into a cluster of derelict buildings up ahead. Pulling out my PB/S I watched my footsteps as I crept towards the camp, careful to avoid making noticable noises. Creeping through a crumbling wall I spotted a bandit guarding this strangely empty building. I took aim, looking down the scratched ironsites and fired, dropping him quickly, only a short cry of temporary agony escaping his lips before he collapsed in a heap.
Avoiding the gaze of another patrolling guard on top of a building, it's shingled roof having decayed long ago, I crept to the right, edging along a building and paused at the sound of breathing. To my right, a cloaked bandit stared out into the Swamps, searching for idiots stupid enough to rush at them through the open. I raised my weapon again and fired, putting him down like his comrade. I continued along the right, but paused as I heard rushed breathing and men jogging, turning the corner I realized the bandit who had been patrolling the roof had spotted the first guards body, and raised the alert. As he rushed down the ladder a fourth bandit ran past, I decided to let him go, and the third bandit entered the open, only to meet a double tap from my pistol to his neck and face. The last remaining bandit panicked, firing his TOZ 77 at me and missing wildly as I flung myself to cover, watching pellets smash the bricks besides me where I had stood seconds ago. I fired with my pistol, hoping to hit him as he desperately reloaded. My clip empty I pushed it into my belt before sprinting at him with my unsheathed knife, stabbing him in the chest. He collapsed, reflexively pulling the trigger and it clipped my shoulder, punishing me for my lack of judgement.
I bandaged my shoulder and walked over to the entrance, only to realize the area ahead was heavily coated in plant material, and I realized I would need the help of the guide regardless to head north. Damn. Heading back to the guides camp I chatted to the guide, and after a short trip I was in Cordon. Immediately I got a message from Sidorovich warning me about the military - gee thanks buddy - and I turned to look out on the sunny region ahead. Taking a single step out I was surprised to hear a siren start, and a speaker announced to the area at large that I was spotted. Panicking I started running, sprinting and stumbling down the slope, and turned left spotting a collapsed tree, using it to my advantage I vaulted over it and broke into a faster sprint, watching as the ground exploded in puffs of dirt around me, a machine gun emplacement looking to turn me into a fine cloud of red dust. I weaved once or twice until I hit a knoll and realized I was out of range, and after a slight jog I had arrived at the rookie camp. Rookie my ass.
Noodle soup.
What an arbitrary statement.

Hmm... next time, after the game crashes, do ctrl + v into a notepad and then copy paste the results here. That will give you a detailed crash log.
