This is what Notch said in that picture. The Endermen are peaceful. If you look straight at them, they freeze and look at you. When you look away again, they run fast. And teleport. They run TOWARDS you, not away. So if you happen to look at one, do not look away. (they stop being peaceful if you look straight at them)

So here's the question. If you look at them then look away, then look back, will they freeze again like The Angels or just continue the attack?

If you look at videos of the community made Enderman, the arms and legs look really bad, because they're so stiff. The dont bend at all. Im hoping that means that notch's version is going to be like the wolves, and introduce mob stuff that's never been done before. I dont know what, but it would be neat to see elbows.

Even then, if you had a pumpkin on your head, he'd ignore you, and pursue his normal business of romping around. And if you do run into the misfortune of looking at him, I think you can just punch him to death anyway as with any other mob.
