Oh fuck. You jinxed us.
Imagine Redeads in Minecraft? damn that would be cool.

Endermen will be amazing. You're walking around your house, minding your own business but then suddenly you see a block that isn't supposed to be there. You turn around and BAM! Enderman watching you
They are the Witch. Herp derp.
I'm going to build all my walls two blocks thick now morning will be spot checks and repairs
Imagine in your house you see one steal a piece of the wall and then run away.
No wonder they're black. ... I'm joking. But they do look positively terrifying. And won't it be just a tad unfair if they can steal anything that you've placed yourself. Maybe building double layered walls will help. As Manning previously said, I reckon if they take down torches it would be awesome. Imagine looking for iron and then one of your torches goes and the only way you notice is that the room suddenly goes darker, then your face to face with an Enderman.
I'm going to build all my walls two blocks thick now
It's not gonna be enough
It's not gonna be enough
At least they don't move obsidian. Well, I hope they don't.
I can image the Endermen being a sight on the normal world, but what about the Nether? will they be seen there? only time will tell.
I think that in the morning, (sl)Endermen should walk into a tree and just vanish. It fits because of what I've heard about Slenderman and trees in creepypastas. No trees? Slenderman only appears in forested areas according to most creepypastas, so it would be unfitting.
Notch is using this as an excuse to put racist stereotype jokes in Minecraft :colbert: They are black, tall, are passive until you look at them, are in gangs, steal things, run fast as fuck. Notch, you could have been more direct with us instead of making a mob that has every possible stereotype in it.
Because of your post I'll always think of a tall african guy when I see them. Thanks a lot. :colbert: Good thing I'll forget when they charge at me.
Made this in Photoshop when bored earlier.
endermen should be in the nether too
I'm going to build all my walls two blocks thick now morning will be spot checks and repairs
On the server I run for myself and a few friends, our city walls are (at the lowest point) 10 blocks high, and 3 blocks thick (cobble - sand - cobble, with the cobble slowly being replaced by smooth stone). My city is ready.
They should definitely be in the nether, the nether needs more creepy/spooky stuff inhabiting it.
They should definitely be in the nether, the nether needs more creepy/spooky stuff inhabiting it.
the nether doesnt need more creepy/spooky stuff, it needs full on scary stuff.
Does the same apply if you look at one through a window? How terrifying would it be if you accidentally glanced out your window at one before using your bed, and just as you get into bed, you just see it watching you through the window?

I really hope they won't crouch to fit into 2x1 tunnel. :tinfoil: [editline]30th July 2011[/editline] Also, Is it just me or we can see some sort of infected terrain on screenshot Notch has provided? This doesn't look like regular terrain for me... Plus that giant mushroom to the right... Looks like they will spawn only in these 'infected' areas.
I think teleporting is just another cheap trick to avoid having to code pathfinding. Dogs already teleport, and while you're looking right at them (they still manage to kill themselves a whole lot). The creepiness could be so much better if the endermen and all other mobs could be found trying to get in through doors and things that you actually built as access points rather than walking up to walls and humping them, falling off cliffs, or just appearing behind you (hurr durr).
You've completely missed the point of why they teleport and obviously haven't read what notch said (nor have the 10 people that agreed) They only teleport whilst they are agressive and it's only so if they are <20 blocksish they can get to you faster, what's next is they only teleport into the view of the player, they also don't want anything to do with the player so they aren't going to be sneaking into your building, that makes them seem like they actually want the players stuff when infact they just want to be left alone to just do their own thing (which sort of adds to the creepy aspect) Also apparently the mob ai is being upgraded at somepoint in the next few patches so maybe you'll get your wish of zombies breaking down your door.
Whipped this in few minutes. Endermen can take my cobble and smoothstone but god save them if they touch my diamond...
You know what would be cool. If you could befriend one and he goes and brings you helpful stuff.
You know what would be cool. If you could befriend one and he goes and brings you helpful stuff.
Too good to be true. :(
Looks like Notch has been playing too much Metro 2033
More like watching Doctor Who.
You know what would be cool. If you could befriend one and he goes and brings you helpful stuff.
Teleport into a mine and bring me some gold ore.

Yeah, I wouldn't put that past Notch.

I had a nightmare last night where I saw a group of Endermen in front of me, but I tried to go to sleep, then all of a sudden Endermen everywhere were tearing apart my home and dragging me away... I'm scared now.
For anybody unfamiliar with Doctor Who. It's a bit like this

Notch said long, long time ago that he considers adding a new mob similar to weeping angels. I hope someone remembers that
