I love to play as sniper and assault rifle, I suck at driving a tank though so I don't even bother because I'm just taking away space from those who actually can do it. [editline]10th April 2011[/editline]
sry, my grammar is pathetic :) especially related to a, an, the etc.
And on capitalization.
You're not going to learn anything by completely ignoring it, and not doing it. I agree that most of the best from Red Orchestra is infantry based, but when that impact between a tank and infantry happens, it's a lot more immersive. It's just too bad that the only hybrid map that's sometimes played in RO is Leningrad. The others hardly see any light.
True, and you bring up a good conflict there also. If you bail out of the tank, it will be extremely boring for the remaining dead crew of said tank to wait for a guy fighting on foot to respawn with the entire tank crew in a tank. So that's really a conflict there... But in my honest opinion, it should be fully encouraged to have the tank fully crewed(But then again I look at games for "realism over fun", so my opinions need to be taken with a grain of salt) and if someone goes solo all the time, I mean, come on. It drastically reduces their effectiveness on the field, isn't fun for you, and isn't the entire experience for them. If you see some of the really good RO players, they always go with a commander/gunner, and a driver. It's just so much more effective and immersive(yelling to people on the microphone is always fun :v:) Adding bots to replace players will always subtract from the MP experience. I mean, if you play Counter-Strike, and join a server only populated by bots, you will leave and look for a server with real human players. I don't need to mention RO's bots, and it doesn't really matter how "amazing and smart" these new bots are. But yes, I'm nit-picking at the end of the day, and I'm sure this will be an excellent game no-doubt and that Tripwire have already taken these issues into concideration time, and time again. Tripwire knows how to treat their bitches anyways :v:
I fully agree on your opinion that the tank should always be fully crewed but I would also have it so that you can be either a signal flagger or a radio operator. Where only those crew members can communicate with other tanks.

Half tracks in RO2 should be a really cool experience now, since they have this new penetration system unlike in RO. Where basically the half-track is immune to AT-rifle rounds, and when it actually does get damaged, the entire thing blows with everyone inside instantly dying.
That was annoying as fuck. The material penetration will be way, way better. Tanks in ROOST would take fewer 14.5mm rounds than a half track would. You could even shoot the engine block and the thing would still be running a-ok. Will be nice to fire into the passenger compartment with a PTRD/PTRS and watch little red bits fly up in the air :v:
Not to mention the panick in the halftrack.
Am I the only one who wants to see tank crew having a need to go outside the tank to take a piss or dump or just cool down after the heat inside the tank?
Am I the only one who wants to see tank crew having a need to go outside the tank to take a piss or dump or just cool down after the heat inside the tank?
a realistic video game, not a simulator
a realistic video game, not a simulator
Well not as a simulator then, more like a way to add some humour to the battlefield.
Am I the only one who wants to see tank crew having a need to go outside the tank to take a piss or dump or just cool down after the heat inside the tank?
They piss and dump out of the porthole slats while they are moving
They piss and dump out of the porthole slats while they are moving
Leaving a trail behind so that enemy tanks can easily trace them down by following a trail of urine and shit. I for one would like that feature.
I hope they have the nebelwerfer as an artillery option for the axis, man they sounded awesome in CoH. Would be good to hear them being launched off in the distance. Then a Rocket barrage raining down on the advancing infantry.
The bots in RO were hilarious. I remember when I played on that map with the castle (forgot the name) and I stood on a castle wall with the Soviet MG and just mowed down the bots as they walked by and they didn't even notice me. Also, did anyone else get that annoying bug when you join a match you couldn't choose a team/class and couldn't veiw the people playing?
I hope they have the nebelwerfer as an artillery option for the axis, man they sounded awesome in CoH. Would be good to hear them being launched off in the distance.
Stonewall DLC?
I'd pay for it.
IIRC, there's a rocket barrage, mortar barrage, and artillery barrage that can be called in.
Yeah i know that there was going to be rocket barrages, but i want to know if the axis will have the nebelwerfer as russians will have the BM-21 firing off in the distance most probably. So will they just reuse sounds for each sides artillery for the rockets? Cause it would be great to have the different sounding rocket artillery so you know if it's friendly or not. Even though that doesn't necessarily mean it's safe, FF arty happens quite a bit.
What I would really like if that after RO2 is fully completed, they would start working on a North Africa campaign version of Red Orchestra.

Hearing that sound as allies just means death is coming. :smith:
What I would really like if that after RO2 is fully completed, they would start working on a North Africa campaign version of Red Orchestra.
mare nostrum 2 or something to that degree is probably one of the mods being worked on @zip, fuck long, drawn-out projectile sounds. nothing screams OH FUCK like the sound of cannon or rocket fire echoing out for like 5 minutes at a time
Some one should set up a Facepunch server
Some one should set up a Facepunch server
Facepunch Community Server would be awesome.
That was annoying as fuck. The material penetration will be way, way better. Tanks in ROOST would take fewer 14.5mm rounds than a half track would. Tanks are my bitch. Whenever I see an halftrack I curl up and cry.
Facepunch Community Server would be awesome.
14 year olds telling everyone what to do instead of 50 year olds
Whenever I'm behind an ATrifle I can any tank up to a heavy. Tanks are my bitch. Whenever I see an halftrack I curl up and cry.
Same here. I crawl through bushes for hours stalking tanks in ROOST, it's so much fun. The halftracks come around and make me cry.
that's why You keep the PF by hand for the monster kill effect ;) always fun to pop fully loaded HT :)
Same here. I crawl through bushes for hours stalking tanks in ROOST, it's so much fun. The halftracks come around and make me cry.
why exactly? 2 shots to the engine block from the AT rifle and a halftrack is disabled
I can kill most tanks with one shot. Then comes along an halftrack, supposedly armored by tinfoil and it's immune to my bullets.
Some one should set up a Facepunch server
I'll be hosting one when it comes out as my post on the first page says. Probably for RCP though, but i'll post it here.
14 year olds telling everyone what to do instead of 50 year olds
The difference is that they would be OUR 14 year olds.
