Yeah, RO isn't realism like, say, ArmA2, it doesn't put realism over gameplay or balance, but it does take it into account more than most games.

Realism isn't a poor term to describe RO though. It isn't as realistic as, say, Arma, but that's still it's main focus.

Lots of people like RO simply for the fact that it's a good game, not because it's a realism game.

It's not dead in the US, the TWB US server has been full all week, and the way the net code is designed is that you can play with a high ping and be fine.
For me it's "oh the US server is up, ill join", or "oh the US server is down but the Europe server is up, ill join" or finally "oh both the US and Europe server is down so I'll join the Russian server and play at over 200 ping and wont lag"
But still if you lag in the Russian or Europe servers the US server is still far from dead.

Hmm, i reinstalled the game last year and i couldn't find any US servers. So, i was like "k, another great game has died, uninstall".
I must say this game keeps looking better the one I follow it.

There is always about 4-5 servers that are fill now, so you can easily find servers. Even for some odd reason the US server isn't up or doesn't have many players like I said the way the net code is designed is that you can play at over 200 ping easily, so you would just need to join the Russian or one of the 2 TWB Europe servers.
Even right now as I type this the US server is 40/50, but usually during the normal hours it is fill and when people are awake some of the servers are impossible to get into to. Good thing there is an option to join servers as a spectator so you can at least view the match until a spot opens.
So I would say give it another shot, also if you want to try something different then the original game you can download the mod Darkest Hour, which is on Steam which has 1 good full server all the time and 3 populated full servers during the weekends.
Cant wait to get my hands on Rising Storm and In Country, mass vegetation on UT3.5 :flashfap:
